Korobeiniki (plural of korobeinik) were russian traders who shuttled between the villages in order to sell their various goods (kitchen utensils, knives, axes, clothing, etc.). Korob - is a wooden box (or woven of thin branches), which these people fastened with straps on their backs like a backpack.
