- At Magnolia Plantation, outside of Charleston, SC, we encountered this love-struck white male peacock trying to interest a female. He even throws in a 360-spin move at the end, but to no avail.... What a beautiful animal.
I love how polite the ladies are in that they just wait by patiently for his colors to load.

my dad, prior to his having to leave his home in his late years, had a white peacock take up residence in his backyard. he'd been putting out cracked corn year round for all the wild turkeys who would stop by and this is what must have convinced the bird to stay. never did find out where he came from. dad was worried about the bird at night, but it would safely roost on his roof. later, when it grew cold, they were able to capture the bird and a man who kept birds got him. said bird has a mate.

My neighborhood currently has a stray peahen wandering around whom my family has called Penny. It gets pretty cold here, so we’ve been concerned about her. Despite our best efforts we haven’t been able to catch her. How did you capture your peacock?

That is a beautiful peacock,never ever seen a white one before.I have a male peacock,and he does the same thing when he's looking for a mate,then at the end he twirls round,and I love it when he brings his feathers down,how they all fall neatly into place.They do make a noise when they are looking for a mate,but I've got used to that,it's a little price to pay,when you have a beautiful animal.

They don’t just “eat” the only reason why they r so choosy is because they want a healthy and well fed mate that will give them beautiful colorful offspring. It’s just like with humans, girls are picky cause they want healthy, attractive and well built guys so u can’t say they do nothing but eat when at the end of the day they are going thru the work and pain of pushing out eggs 🙄🤚🏾

No, actually that's the point of being colourful in male birds. If they are more colourful/stand out, it means they must have good genetics to be able to survive. This is what attracts the females.

For the female peacocks, this one male peacock in particular may not seem as spectacular as the others, but for me, I personally think that it’s the most beautiful bird I’ve ever seen.

As an aside, I really respect how peahens look. Sure, they don't have the elaborate tail, but peafowl have a cute head on them. The hens have that head and a pretty neck, and nice calm brown on their bodies.
