Talking of hypersensitivity to touch and a shocking puff my relative with autism can NOT tolerate the puff of air when doing an eye exam.

3 of my 5 adult sons have autism as well as 1 teenage grandson. They all have sensory issues and extreme anxiety. Our genes only found one connected gene with autism. As well I’ve noticed that their comfort with socialization is sometimes determined by the reciprocity of others. It’s difficult for them to find someone who wants to listen to their interests. Could this be the same for mice? Maybe the mouse they’re being asked to interact with isn’t interesting.

Very interesting point! It is definitely something that we should keep in mind as we understand more about how our socialization assays can be used to study these complex aspects of interactions across time.

would any of this information have implications for treatment of psychosis in autistic adults. GABA potentiation medication versus anti- psychotics?
Treatment with fish oils can help autistic patients sometimes. Is this due to a GABA effect?

Do you see or acknowledge a link between autism and vaccines?

AUSPUDS is horrific to imagine yet alone the reality. Take a break - maybe go for a brisk walk, take in some fresh air, or watch some happy healthy wildlife. 😊
