I can totally see the Betty Boop and Popeye one being real. Not only were the old Betty Boop cartoons filled with scandalous jokes, but Fleischer also helped create the first prnographic animated film which you can find online.
You might be able to, but not anyone else, as we don’t know if it even existed in the first place, like the Mickey and Minnie sex tape. That’s what the Lost Media Wiki says about both, anyways.

Had it not been for the Evangelion AIDS PSA being found by RedBard, I would've never watched the show and, consequently, anime in general. That is not a joke. I learned about Shinji and Asuka getting it on before I learned about the Hospital Scene.

@@minceraftfornite4334 When Vinny was accused of all that shit back in April I think, RedBard jumped on the bandwagon and assumed all the allegations were true (despite there being evidence far in his favor) and tried to insist that it may not be true. However, with the Google Doc she made, it just downright accused him as if the accusations were true (which they weren’t. There’s a load of evidence to prove he was innocent which is backed up and accepted by the vast majority of the internet now). There’s a bunch of more details that I didn’t point out, but in summary:
RedBard made a document claiming Vinny from Vinesauce leaded on fans via email with sources from said fans. The sources were proven false and Vinny was acquitted of the accusations. He went on hiatus for a few months and hasn’t really spoken on it since then.
There’s a few videos on the topic if you want to indulge yourself. I recommend not to as a few people at the time didn’t take the idea that it could be false into consideration *(coughcoughRedBardcoughcough)*
IIRC, Hillenburg was very much against spin - off shows for Spongebob. Needless to say since his death, Nickelodeon have ignored that with the prequel movie and The Patrick Star Show

Fun Fact: During the recording of “Sailor Mouth” on the show Spongebob Squarepants, the directors told the voice actors to say alternatives to swear words, but most of them foud it hard. So what did they do instead? Say the real curse words and the editors would bleep them over.

Looking up the rom for that game (for research purposes, of course) I discovered a SMW rom hack where you play as Peach called Super Mario Bros. Peach's Adventure. It isn't anything inappropriate, though she seems to be using an old design from the 80s, and let me tell ya, she looks *THICC* .

It's unprovable realistically. There is no proof of it happening and is impossible to get said proof, however the story doesn't sound impossible, people at that time did interact with Walt and didn't mind him (you know, before he completely lost his mind) so a bunch of animators messing with his characters sounds very realistic. It's not impossible but it's unprovable.

My theory for the Mickey and Minnie one is that it wasn't actually a film. I suspect it was dirty drawings that some the animators passed around, and Walt maybe just reprimanded them. Because what happened to them if they were fired? That's the part that doesn't add up to me, they could've been hired at another studio, but it just seems strange that there isn't enough evidence to identify them.

I swear I've seen the Betty Boop and Popeye short before. When I was little I had a portable DVD player. Every year before our big annual road trip my parents would buy bulk DVDs and movies from a local pawnshop to keep me entertained. I remember there being a few DVDs of classic cartoons. Just poorly edited compilations of shorts, no menu, just a list on the back of timestamps for each short. At the time I thought Popeye was just fighting Betty as I was so little I didn't know any better. I'd usually watch with headphones on and all the DVDs came from the children's section so my parents never realized. Either I'm miss remembering or it was carlessly and accidentally editied into the compilation. At the time most compilations like that were just bargain bin low effort discs.

@@farmingsim9813 I don't as this was nearly 14 years ago, but I do remember one of the DVD covers. It was just a full body picture of Popeye wearing his more well known black red and blue outfit. The background of the cover was purple with a gradient. The back of the case was just purple, a long list of the shorts and a few screenshots of episodes.
Small Update. I did some digging and while I didn't find the specific collection I remember, I did find other DVDs I also remember having. A good chunk of the bulk DVDs I had were made under the "Cartoon Craze" brand. Most of these DVD's were released from 2004 to 2006. So the collection I cant remember must have released before 2006.

I love the idea of a group of veteran animators essentially creating a pact with the new animators to never speak of the lost R34. If they trusted you like that, that's how they knew you were a part of the in-group. It's almost like an initiation ritual.

Actually my family owned a copy of the Rescuers with the nude woman in the window when I was still a child. When I heard about the rumor, I took the casette of the movie we had at home and played through it frame by frame. It took me forever but finally, there it was. However, considering the quality of the media, it was barely possible to recognize anything at all, except that this seems to be a nude woman in two frames. Not sure what happened to this cassette, though. Maybe it still exists at my parents house, maybe it has been sold or thrown away.

So the thing about Sunday Funday, is that is ALREADY a hack of an existing game called Menace Beach. Wisdom Tree was basically a front for the original company (i forgot the name of) who made Menace Beach, and in order to be able to sell their unlicensed crap without Nintendo banging on the door with litigation, they went with the religion theme. Thus they could sell their crap in stores unrelated to electronics/video games.
So apparently Miss Peach World is a hack of a hack of a bootleg. Absolutely mental.

Can you really call the Spongebob Adult Party Cartoon lost media when it's only a rumor of a pitch? Even if the rumors were true, there wouldn't be any media to find. Besides, the rumor itself makes no sense. Why would they want to 'try again' with such a horrible failure?
It's absolutely not true. Also Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon is not NEARLY as "bad" as it's overblown reputation is. A Spongebob variant doesn't exist and was never pitched at all, becuase it wasn't Nickelodeon who had any hand in the Ren and Stimpy one. It was Spike TV, and that ONLY ever occoured becuase they were lost episodes of Ren and Stimpy that originally never got made. They wouldn't copy it with Spongebob becuase Spongebob NEVER had the kind of creative team with a mindset like Spumco, John K, or was it ever part of Spike TV. "Adult Party Cartoon" was an invention soley of John K and the head of Spike TV. No one else ever tried to replicate it ever. The rumor is fake.

That “Mickey & Minnie sex tape” legend is such obvious bunk and I’m really sick of seeing people spread it around like there’s any chance of it being real. There are no firsthand stories about it from anyone who actually worked at the studio at the time, only a secondhand one recounted in an intentionally & notoriously defamatory biography, and furthermore, logically speaking it’s just highly unlikely because of how the animation process works- unless the short was just a few seconds long, it would have taken weeks of work to produce, which is not likely if it had to be covert and wasn’t being done for pay. No disrespect to you for reporting on it, of course - it’s not your fault this rumor is spread around all the time and thus worth acknowledging - but it just plain didn’t happen.

You should talk about the World of Goo betas and their constant attempts of being fixed from crashes, that never work. One WoG beta has 7 chapters, while final version has 5 chapters. It also has a bunch of physics issues (this only applies to beta 821) where sometimes things float for no reason. Of course there may of been an issue with gravity and that there was no gravity in those levels. But there IS an anti-gravity level called Objects in Space but it cant normally be played!

I remember a long time ago, MTV was airing Sponge Bob reruns with a similar title to "Adult Party Cartoon". These were just reruns; but the bumpers had a picture where the characters had bloodsbot eyes, which I assume is from lack of sleep, but could be interpted they were high.

I did a cursory search last night, but didn't find the video file. I have a bad feeling I'm pretty sure I deleted it, as it was weirdly upsetting to me at the time. But I'll do some more digging later to see if it still exists with a non-obvious filename. Sorry to not be of more help.

Great video, but I feel the need to point something out: I'm working on an episode about the Mickey and Minnie "party reel" myself for my podcast and have dug into it as much as I could, and, according the book's original text, it wasn't just a joke; it was a pointed metaphor by the two animators on how they felt Walt was treating them.
I'm also confident in saying it's nothing more than a good story. The one and only source (which is a red flag in and of itself) we have for the story is Marc Eliot in both "Hollywood's Dark Prince" and 1995's "Secret Lives: Walt Disney," since Eliot never cites a source for the story in either the text itself or in the Notes and Sources section of the book. After going through the book, I've found that alot of the claims seem to come from half-truths, rumors, and, at the very least, VERY biased, unreliable sources (if not from Eliot himself), and most don't hold up to scrutiny.
Example: Eliot spins a story about Walt being 10 years older than his official birthday, and being ethnically Spanish, with his birth-mother meeting Elias Disney while Elias was alone in California during the Gold Rush. This story hinges on the fact that there's no official birth record for a Walter Elias Disney in 1901 but there is a birth record for a Walter Disney, dated January 8, 1891. In reality, the 1891 birth record does exist, but it's recording a birth that took place on December 30, 1890, which just so happens to be the exact birthdate of Raymond Arnold Disney, Walt's older brother. (Two things of note: Eliot fails to explain how Elias could have fathered Raymond while he was on the other side of the country, and, though he had taken a previous trip out west, this trip in question is not recorded anywhere in the historical record and Eliot again fails to cite any sources.)
On top of all that, when I brought this topic up in the Cartoon Research Facebook group to see if I could gather any anecdotes or variations of it, group founder and animation historian Jerry Beck stated, point blank and without any question, that the story is not true and the animation does not exist.

I've also dug into these ones too for the same episode. From what I've heard and an ex-Disney Parks cast member I've talked too, Jim Hill and his column should be seen as more entertainment than gospel, since he relies on his audience to just believe his info comes from trusted inside sources. And the above sentiment by Jerry Beck should be applied here too, as he was referring to all three stories.

I remember hearing a rumor around like 2014 that spongebob was never actually ment to be a children’s show but an adult show that was “forced” to change to a kid show because of the abundance of slightly disturbing episodes with gross faces and some adult humor...I think the adult party cartoon thing is what people we thinking of
It was obviously always going to be a kids' show. It's loosely based on comic books Hillenburg wrote for his students while he was a high school marine biology teacher. Probably given that his prior audience was older kids, that might be why the show often pushes the envelope.

This is not very talked about but the anime movie Project A-ko was originally planned to be part of the hentai OVA series Cream Lemon and that it's possible that lost production material as well as lost footage from the Cream Lemon version may exist

Not really lost media, but a rather obscure fact similar to the "The Rescuers" topic. In the Pocoyo episode, Pato's Paintings, uncensored nudity can be seen in one of Pato's stolen paintings (This show is rated TV-Y and airs on PBS kids!) unlike the Rescuers, the mistake was never noticed, and the episode was never banned.
It's not a mistake. Since those paintings are classic works of art, they can be shown to children completely uncensored. Similar content can be seen in animal crossing. Some shows do still choose to censor such things, but it's only a creative choice.

For Disney, there is also the original box cover for the Little Mermaid. In the background, of the cover art, one of the castles towers is dick, painted the same color as the rest of the castle so it blends in. If I remember correctly, the artist learned he was to be let go at the end of the project so he added it in as a screw you to Disney. It did sell like that and if you have an original copy you may be able to see the purple (I think was the color) dong tower. It was removed not long after so it’s pretty rare.

Evangelion is not exactly for kids. It is very dark, violent and frightening.
It is a shonen anime but so are shows like Attack on Titan, Death Note, and Demon Slayer.

I think that whole Micky & Minnie sex tape ordeal, might have some weight to it. I imagine Disney must have kept employment records of their employees, i.e. they date they started working to the date they left or got fired. If those animators were fired by Walt Disney himself, there definitely would be a note of that in their employee records. And since we're talking about Walt's 35 birthday (December 5, 1936) we have a specific date. If they still have those employee records somewhere, it can theoretically tell us who was fired on that specific date. Which, could possibly bring us a list, and give some weight to this rumor. The thing is though, I imagine Disney wouldn't be too keen on sharing employee records, but then again we are talking about former employees from 1936. That's assuming they still have a record of it.
You could also check to see who was hired at another studio too, during the same time period. I don't think WB or Fleischer would turn their noses up at a disgraced Disney animator, no matter what the scandal was.
I wouldn't be shocked if the Mickey and Minnie tape existed. Before that we had "Eveready Harton".
While it's possible that some disney animators worked on eveready harton, it is unconfirmed and impossible to confirm.
