This video gave me 2 major realizations:
1. Her whole body isn’t painted, it’s just a suit (BTW that suit is GENIUS. The hem of the top part looking like the chain for the necklace instead is SO SMART)
2. Delia and Miss Argentina are played by the same person?! How long have I not connected the voices?! HELLO???
That's always a smart solution on the seams, covering with some object so It doesn't show. On Hadestown, Hades has a tattoo of a wall pattern on his arm, which is just a sleeve, and It just so happens that in that same arm he has a watch, to sneakily hide the seam.
Also: she uses a wig for Delia, HOW DID I NOT NOTICED THAT??
I also thought her whole body was painted lol
Leslie got two really interesting and fun roles that both try to teach Lydia that life is worth living
(Well, they try anyway)

The quick change is about 4 minutes I timed it when I saw the show to see really how fast it is

I've had to do a 5 second quick change on stage as Fantine, that was difficult!

Cold cream and a damp towel can remove almost anything, and it doesn't dry out skin.
Marissa Martinez facts also makes me think of what the actresses playing elphaba go through when they wear that green make up

They do this for Elphaba too! There’s no way that Elphaba could be painted fully green every night, especially with her costume changes. They do definitely paint her face and hands, but the rest of her skin is mostly a suit.
It’s just way more convenient to do a suit
It would also transfer onto the really expensive costumes a lot more if they painted her whole body

Absolutely satisfying. It always drove me crazy in how quick the transformation was between those transitions in the scenes and I could imagine it being easy getting the blue paint on but pondered how quick it would have been to transform back to Delia without any trace of Argentina. Fantastic job makeup team!!
for most quick changes, it’s usual keeping the same character, but changing their outfits, but for this she’s changing into a completely different character

I HONESTLY thought it was a light trick and my god I am so impressed? Like wow she does it so quickly and so well and returns back to the normal makeup.... that is TALENT
I would bet that the Argentina makeup is "normal" makeup, and meanwhile, the stuff she keeps on (the eyes and brows) would be alcohol-based makeup. A normal remover cant remove alcohol-based stuff.
Just my 2 cents of how I've seen similar things done before in my own theatre! But, I'll ask Matt DeCarlo, the PSM, who teaches at my school, the next time I see him.

it wasn't me, but a bunch of my friends for this one show played two different characters in back to back scenes. they were in the first scene, and the start of the second scene was one character setting up the table, so they had about as long to change as she took to put down like ten plates
as a cosplayer who paints their entire face and neck blue, her being able to do this in that amount of time - even with people helping - is truly godly to me lmao
Any dancer or musical kid could relate, quick changes are the most stressful things in the world!!!

I was in Legally Blonde my senior year and in one of the shows I literally ripped out some of my hair when I did a quick change during Legally Blonde Remix into Chutney. One of the things I did was for the Irish choreography I made sure I was on the very end of the line before the transition into the courtroom.
How was she able to take off the green/blue makeup without her other makeup not messing up at all? 100% talent
My boyfriend and I were stressing over how she did this so fast after we saw the musical this past thursday and i am SO glad to see this video.

I'm surprised the Miss Argentina costume looks like that, so translucent I mean. I knew there was a suit but it and the makeup are less opaque than I thought they would be. It's amazing what stage lights can do because she really seems to glow onstage. So cool!
If it’s too opaque it will look like a halloween costume!

When I saw this show, I didn't even realize it was her! I thought it was a different actress! It kind of looked like her but I thought, "no way she'd get all that on and off that quick!"

That's crazy impressive. I think the quickest change I've ever done for a show was for the opera Faust, I had to go from full face and body paint to almost none in five minutes. It's very stressful! She makes it look like it's no big deal though, major props on that. 👏👏

she leaves the scene for like a minute and a half and they do the makeup around the eyes since the next time Delia shows up she's wearing glasses and you cant see it, she then leaves again for 3 to 4 minutes depending on the rythm of the next scene, she then has around 8 minutes to return to Delia

Ronny Ebner A lot of shows do this, like Hamilton. They sometimes do this because the singer’s voice is good to play another role, or because no one else could get the spot as that character. Some actors like it, some don’t.

Ronny Ebner it’s her character for the song “what i know now” but i’m not quite sure why she has to switch characters. maybe it’s just a little twist they wanted to include in the musical?
natasha charn sometimes characters that only appear in one scene of the show will be played by someone who already plays another character in the show. It’s pointless to have another actor on payroll for literally 5 mins of a 2 hour show so it’s a way to save money and resources to just have an active cast member do it. Multiple shows do this, especially BeetleJuice, where a lot of the cast have double roles throughout the show.

If you want to watch truly "in real time," change playback speed to .25, which looks to be about regular speed. I think it's easier to appreciate how fast and precise the process actually is when the video isn't sped up. Very impressive.

I was Sharpay in my school’s musical a couple of years back, and I had a good handful of quick changes, as Sharpay’s style is an important part of her character...none of them were this insane, but it was still so crazy to run off and have to really quickly and completely change right behind the curtain!!
