I love the Classics a lot. So, I would recommend "Crime and Punishment", if you haven't read it already. It has several translations. I have read Whishaw's. But the most popular translation is Pevear and Volokhonsky's translation. ( This translation is a bit more modernized but this couple is the best Russian translator out there.) Read whatever translation you love. The novel strikes moral dilemmas.
Other ones would be Demian by Hermann Hesse and Lost Boy by Christina Henry, which is a kind of dark take on the well-known novel "Peter and Wendy" by J.M. Barrie. We all love Peter Pan but it is from the POV of Captain Hook who is often antagonised in the novel or our childhood stories and cartoons. These are interesting books, but have a darker concept which I am in love with.
Btw I love your videos Prajakta. I have been a fan since years. Love a fellow reading enthusiast. ♥ ♥
    LOVE LOVE 🧡🧡

Then I found the Crossfire Saga by Sylvia Day. OH MY GODDDDDDDDD! Nothing can ever, ever beat that series in terms of the sexiness and storytelling. 1. The Silent Patient (I guarantee you, you can't stop until you finish. It's a great read to get you out of reading slum)

    3. A good girl's guide to murder series
    4. Six of crows (Duology)
    5. And then there were none(Agatha Cristie, the best murder mystery writer)
    6. ACOTAR series(the most hyped fantacy book in booktok. You must have heard about it)

The problem with coming out of it is the danger of going back to the "screen"

I have till now had always avoided fantasy fiction, you know the kinds with gothic covers and weird names. I think they are called dark fantasy though I'm not sure. So 20 days ago randomly surfing YT, came across Shadow and Bone S2 promotional videos, binged the show (loved it) and IT WASN'T ENOUGH. I read the Six of Crows Duology by Leigh Bardugo ( part of the Grishaverse that SaB is based on) and it was so good! Since the Harry Potter universe, Grishaverse is the only verse I'm so invested in. There are so many little details, it keeps you hooked. Also the writing is impeccable. You should try it. Though read the books first.
Edit : If you enjoyed Bridgerton, you can divulge into Historical Romance.

I’ve felt sooo much over every book that I’ve read that it makes me forget now the feelings and idk why I don’t write reviews coz idk I just fall in love with every one of em and honestly I started reading the YA fiction after many years of reading my children novels like enid and dickens and then suddenly one morning I was reading MERCILESS SAINTS. Me who WAS not a fan of reading on my phone completely got addicted to reading on phone due to that one book and I haven’t stopped. And all of them have a piece of my heart

Try YA fantasy! They're effectively romances but set in the backdrop of some kind of war or good vs evil fight, aaand the characters usually have powers. Great way to transition away from romance without giving up on the romance because you're just adding in other elements like suspense and magic. Try Sarah J Maas or Tomi Adeyemi books, they're fun!
