This was a really unique cake it’s almost got a bread pudding taste to it. I’ll make it again but will likely add orange zest to it and perhaps increase the sweetness a tad. This would make a good breakfast dessert.
So I tried this today and it was very delicious. I didn't have any maple syrup so I passed honey at the table. It really was sweet enough without the honey but it was very very good. I thought that was a lot of oil and wondered if I could use applesauce instead of oil next time?
I do not recommend replacing the oil with applesauce, the dough will have a very pronounced floury taste. you can possibly reduce the dose of oil or replace it with butter. Thanks for watching😘😘😘
I baked this cake last night. Its yummy but I wonder why the outer surface was so dark including the nuts? Is the temperature too high ? I followed the method instruction. Please advise so I can bake again.

It depends on your oven, set the temperature to 160°C instead of 180°C😘
