- Woah dude, more PBS content? Would you believe it?
Over this past Thanksgiving, my parents were in the process of moving and found a tape of unknown origin in their attic. We had no clue what was on it...and boy was I in for a treat when I looked. Not only were there home videos on it I didn't even know we had, there was also some PBS content on there. This is of the DFW metroplex's secondary PBS station, KDTN, back when it served that purpose. Today, that station serves as the Daystar network's flagship station, making this something of a relic of the past.
There really isn't a whole lot to this, it's primarily just the closing credits of Motorweek and some bumpers. Really not a whole lot else to it. Regardless, I hope you enjoy!

Hot damn, I can actually hear the music on that bumper. The other copy that's been up for years sounds absolutely terrible.
I think that the KDTN music package used around this time was some sort of adaptation of a PBS national package, but don't quote me on that.

"Market to Market" is fed via PBS’s HD05 satellite feed on Fridays. It is fed twice from 8pm-9pm ET. "MotorWeek" is fed via PBS’s HD03 feed Fridays at 3pm ET. Great to see some old PBS content!

The rarest one! The VLY Logo is the same as the 1990 logo but it's big and all yellow! After blue.
I often forget that Motorweek is one of the longest-running programs on PBS.
@Peeebs I started watching Motorweek in 2014. I don’t remember it airing on KDTN 2 when it was a secondary PBS station.

Some TH-camr by the name of txtapefiend had a KDTN 2 promo for Nightly Business Report from either 2001 or 2002 around late 2019, although the station was half rebranded as KERA 2 at that time. It was combined with promos from Religion and Ethics Newsweekly and Sewing With Nancy. When I found that the video was no longer available and taken down in February 2020, I wondered if txtapefiend’s TH-cam account was terminated or he just quit TH-cam. That was pretty much the only program break from KDTN 2 as a secondary PBS station at that time, so thank you so much for uploading this!

TH-cam is not intended as a video archival site. I hope you are saving and downloading every video you find even remotely interesting. TH-cam-dl is frre, and you can upload to Archive.org if you dont have enough free space on your device. I learnt this the hard way.
Hey, what do you use to record your stuff nowadays, you know, get them in that good 1080p in 60fps? God, I wish TH-cam would get rid of their stupid compression and let us have all 60fps videos in whatever format, like 480p………..

I’ve never seen or heard about Market To Market. It sounds like the nursery rhyme To Market, To Market, but it’s very interesting.

I don’t remember Motorwek airing on KDTN 2 back when it was a secondary PBS station.
I found motor week now on KERA Saturdays.
It was aired midweek at 9PM at this time. The program schedule shifted with every fiscal year until the program was moved to KERA in the 2000s ahead of the station sale and moved to weekends.

KDTN IS NO LONGER A PBS AFFILIATE!
KDTN was a PBS affiliate from September 1, 1988-January 13, 2004. Since January 13, 2004, KDTN has been a Daystar affiliate.
