    Brilliant introduction! Just a correction though, the purpose of the initial “seed” value is not related to the number of initial generations but it is related to creating a seemingly “randomised” spread for your generation. In computer programming there is no such thing as a truly random sample, so seed value is what the “randomising” algorithm uses to create a random spread or a “new seed” that takes your input and scrambles it up through the algorithm to give you a unique start point to avoid going through the same steps it did the first time around.

    Having a great time playing with refinery - reverse engineering distance analysis to do fire escape audits of floor plate designs currently (using space analysis package for Dynamo)!
    Great and easy to follow tutorial and congratulations on getting to talk to the Refinery developers - also a good watch.
    Subbed!

    Thank you very much for all of your tutorials! I'm currently doing an internship which the topic is BIM (I work a lot on Revit and dynamo) and I never really had classes on it so I'm really glad you make those videos! I learn so much with your tips and tricks haha keep going! And it's cool to see new subjects!

    It is such a pleasure watching and listening to you teach us about Revit. I think. I speek for all of us when i say i feel privileged. Autodesk has a free spokeswoman.

      Oh my god, thank you so much for this comment! It's making me a little emotional :) Yesterday I debated ending my TH-cam-Channel, because it's sometimes so frustrating for me to make these videos. But then whenever I get one done and upload it to TH-cam, I am so happy about it and comments like this are really rewarding! So thank you very much! I am glad you like my videos

    Thanks for the tutorial. Is it possible to explain the "normal" in dynamo (2.02) in the future video? especially the plane normal vs. polygon normal. many thanks!

    Hi thanks for the excellent video!! It is so useful! I have one question regarding how to set the node to 'is output' ? As I was trying to minimize a math sum of a list, the node does not give me an 'is output' option... May I know which are the nodes to be used before you rename them?

    • @ThatBIMGirl
      @ThatBIMGirl  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, maybe try adding a watch-node after your sum. Those can definitly be set to "is output"

    Hello! I cannot download project refinery in the link in your description or at any site. chrome says it "fail - forbidden, i downloaded it with microsoft edge and it cannot install it, and i have done all the troubleshooting but still the file could not run.. btw, the one successsfully downloaded in edge is 47mb which is too little which i think my device blocked chunk of it. disabled antivirus, but still. Thank you.

      Sorry to hear that! But I am not part of the developing team, so I cannot really help you. I don't work for Autodesk. I only wanted to present the software, because I like it. Maybe try contacting the support team

    • @ThatBIMGirl
      @ThatBIMGirl  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But maybe part of the problem is that it is still in beta. So sometimes it doesn't run perfectly.
      Also since I made the video, a completely new version has come out. So my video is kinda already "outdated" :)

    Nice girl, sweet voice talking, but i nothing left on my mind when u finish. My question now still "what is Generative Design and what is DYNAMO" :)

  •  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Where could I learn how to use refinery with Dynamo? How do you know this things?

    • @ThatBIMGirl
      @ThatBIMGirl  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I learnt it all from the website :)

    • @ThatBIMGirl
      @ThatBIMGirl  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They have really great resources on their website. Just look through it, and explore :) maybe take one example and look at the graph in detail to find out what they did in each node.
      That's how I did it
