Bachchan's Madhushala: Mandir Masjid Hindu Muslim | मधुशाला | Hindi Poetry ep 5

Circa 1938 - Bachchan sahab went to Indore for a Kavi Sammelan, where Mahatma Gandhi was the guest of honor. Somebody complained to Gandhi ji that Madhushala is an alcoholic’s poetry. Bachchan was terrified when Gandhi ji summoned him but he went ahead to meet him. Gandhi ji asked him to recite some of his poems, Bachchan smartly picked up two verses. यज्ञ अग्नि सी धधक रही है मधु की भटठी की ज्वाला,
ऋषि सा ध्यान लगा बैठा है हर मदिरा पीने वाला
