- In January I attended the Kansas edition of the Chop Class With Joel Davis in Scranton, KS at McIntyre's. About 20 people attended the class starting Friday evening and ending Sunday evening. This is part 3 of a 3 part video series showing the process, this video shows the final day of the chop class, building the sail panels and learning some English wheel skills.

Great vid!! 👍👍
I learned how to chop complex curved tops from an old Jedi metal master back when I started in the early '80s, gas and rod with paddled lead. The way he showed and the best look IMO is achieved by cutting the roof into quarters ahead and behind the B pillars, then dropping each piece into place while adding or removing metal depending on what's needed. It's also a lot easier on glass fabrication too. I lost count of how many tops in total I've dropped in all these years, but I do know I just completed my 66th VW Beetle raked chop, I can do them in my sleep now, lol.
Yes sir, there are tons of ways to do a chop, different vehicles lend themselves to different methods more easily than others for sure!
