- In this video I'm recreating the terrarium that got over 100million views on TikTok, Instagram and TH-cam. It's a bioactive terrarium containing various millipedes, woodlice and springtails and it's surprisingly easy to make!

When David Attenborough retires I nominate you to take his place. You got the voice for it.
That is so beautiful! But how do you keep your isopods from destroying the moss? Mine will eat it down to the substrate. I haven't found a good solution.
What species do you use? If the population density is high, they might eat the live plants. Maybe try feeding fresh veggies?
Great content! May I ask where you purchased that amazing fishbowl? I can find nothing like it anywhere. What brand and where to find? Anything would help.
Haha, enjoying the close-up shots of the little creatures 😏👌.
It's a very attractive terrarium too. I really appreciate watching you work. Maybe I'll bite the bullet soon and actually try making my own.
Beautiful, Ben!
You make it look so easy, which I know is the result of serious knowledge and experience. I'm in the process of adding some life to my home and your channel is number 1 for helping with that.
Hi, very beautiful creation :) !! Not sure if its been mentioned but what size is the glass bowl?
Love it!!!
iv wanted to do a large bowl for ages, keep seeing your vids with them, have only ever seen them as specialist blown for a small fortune, never with a lid, most of the ones on amazon are basicly just cups, any chance of letting us know where your finding them and how much?
Absolutely gorgeous!!
I'm always concerned with introducing non-native species into the wild locally by accident or otherwise. There have been too many cases where the aquarium or gardening hobbies brought in invasive species that were hard to deal with afterwards. You would think that mosses would not be a major concern, but the critters with legs may be a different story. :)
You make amazing content keep it up
The prod has increased! Level 9000
How often do you have to trim the plants ina terrarium this size?
so comfy
Thank you!!! I’m gonna do one of this 🙃 Quick question, what should be the room temperature?
Just normal toom temperature is good, isopods and millipedes like cooler enviornments
Yeeeeeah! Got them land shrimps, little escargots, bugs with all the legs, AND bugs without any.
This is the best and relaxing moment of mi entire morning, watching your videos...Is there any possibility that you can show subtitles in spanish please...Could be amazing for me to understand all your explanations...Sometimes get lost 😀...Thanks
I want to make a terrarium with brown forest frogs what container do you advice?
Stunning … thank you!
Perfect 👍
Everything you do is beautiful 😍 i would like to make a terrarium for butterfly worms its possible? because the wasps eat them all 😶. If you have a video thank you 👌
do you have to spray it multiple times or give it maintnence
Amazing
I love this
I’ve just created my first terrariums and I’m noticing a few little bugs that came from the moss I harvested. Are there any bugs that I should make sure to remove if I see them?
This was so amazing and mindblowing
I love these! How much do you average per terrarrium cost wise? Ive wanted to make one for ages but they most definitely seem pricy
If you want to get into it you could buy a enclosure second hand, I got an old aquarium for pretty cheap. You could capture a lot of stuff from outside if you don't care about having a tropical environment.
Thanks for recommending Micro Exotics - I have purchased albino isopods and springtails from them - totally inspired by your videos :) This is an wonderful build, I see why it got so many views
How do you culture your isopods? I’m a huge isopod fan and keep several species, always curious to see how terrarists keep their colonies!
Super 👌
Question: Where do you get a lid for a fishbowl like that?
I was wondering that too!
Do you have to water it everyday?
Where are you buying the plants from? Uk based
This may be a strange question but should I add a natural predator for the macro fauna
If something is breeding like crazy and taking over then yeah but otherwise no
Hi please Can you tell me which creatures you used for this build in latin and english please
Love Watching your videos
The Bob Ross of Mad Scientists. Haha jokes aside, I love your content
I can’t find any garlic snails for sale in the uk 😢
WHAT PLANTS DID YOU USE
The biggest issue I have is finding a place that sells that actual glass jars/tanks for use.
Tkmaxx is usually quite good
Where do you find those big azz bowls...lol.
I'm in the US
We’re do you get garlic snaild
Micro Exotics doesn't ship to the US 😔Are you aware of any terrarium inhabitant suppliers that do? Thanks 😁
Xịn
nice
I've just made my first large bioactive terrarium this week. Unfortunately some of the seed pods and things we added are mouldy already 😭
Did you put springtails in?
@@kmetzzsofi570 yes two of my own cultures. It's a large vivarium so hopefully they will spread out. I'm going to remove the wood for now.
@@bigfil1981 well then we can only hope for the best😁who lives in it? Or is it a nano vivarium?
@@kmetzzsofi570 about 20 dairy cows, jewel 💎 orchids and assorted mosses and plants.🤞
@@bigfil1981 wooooow i would love to see how that turned out!😮😊i have dairy cow to and they are the best🤟🏼
Good
What kind of Snails where used?
Excellent, but why use vermicast on the floor of the terrarium when you already have it in your substrate?
It looked to me like he added it up in the back as sort of a time-release nutrient reserve, he mentioned how water would pass through and carry nutrients down
❤❤❤👍💥
Terarriums are not tropical environments unless you make them that, and you absolutely can get lots of bugs from outside your door and put them in there and they will be very happy. If they thrive in a moist environment
Tropical climates are defined by a monthly average temperature of 18 °C and with ambient temperature of homes in the UK is between 18ºc-21ºc, combined with the humidity of a terrarium = tropical environment. I totally disagree with your statement about getting lots of bugs from outside so long as they thrive in a moist environment. It's always better to do a little research to ensure what you're putting inside will actually like being there.
@@WorcesterTerrariums Yes, it is best to do some research, and yes, many bugs from temperate climates do thrive in terrariums as long as they're kept moist. In my experience plants have a harder time acclimating than bugs do
I made a terrarium and used mosses found on trees and they die after a few months. Is there any reason for this? The other plants in the terrarium are still alive
Was it non closed?
Lichens or mosses? Temperate climate where your collected mosses live? (versus tropical habitat in your warm and extremely humid terrarium)
hey, just a reminder that if you live in a tropical environment, you can totally get the creepy crawlers from outside
Or you can control the temperature and humidity and create a terrarium of any climate...
How do you go about population control for the little critters?
Is it fine to add earth worms to your terrarium to naturally create food for the plants?
Isopods and springtails also poop and make food for the plant
No activated charcoal?????
You are so fineeee
have discord?
