It's a fantastic game! I grew up playing this in the '70s. It also taught me some French -- unlike the cards Kirwan used, the ones available at that time had the French term alongside the English term on the cards. When we would hit each other with a hazard card, we'd yell the French term, such as Creve, for flat tire. Great times!
Wow very nice review! Short and sweet and to the point! I watched other's and I was so confused lol. I came here and voila the light bulb went on! thank you!
Hi ! Thanks so much, your video was short but super clear and we understood everything! Thanks so much for this video! Going to enjoy a nice game with my dad. Stay safe guys !
A friend of mine bought a version of this called fun and speed with different cards but all the instructions are in french. the packet is a nice looking paper weight at this point cause we cannot decypher the rules
I haven't played this game in over 30 years and I forgot most to all of how its played. Why do we play a safety card in a vertical way instead of the Coup Ferre horizontal way?
They are oriented differently because they are worth different amounts of points depending on how they are played. If you play a safety card normally then it's only worth 100, but if you play it as a Coup Ferre move they are worth 200.
There is a risk/reward to playing safeties. You can play it as soon as you get it and receive 100 points or hold it to play it as a Coup Ferre -- when served with the corresponding hazard -- for 200 points. In the meantime, though, it's claiming a valuable spot in your hand.
Yes, except at 2:27 you say “1000 miles or more” - you officially have to try to get EXACTLY 1000 miles. This is important, as you might discard a 200 mile card if you’ve already played two, since it is no longer of value to you. This is assuming you’re playing the classic/official way, where you score at the end of each hand in an effort to get 5000 points to win. In this way, if you run out of cards in the draw pile, the hand ends (after everyone gets a final turn)... and it can happen that nobody gets to 1000!
Just to clarify, the Parker Bros. release of the game the rule was you needed exactly 1,000 miles. However, with the Asmodee release, which is the one we are covering in this video, it does say in the rules "1,000 miles (or more)."
Apparently some rules have changed. When I played it as a kid, there was a bonus for, I believe, being the first to reach 400 miles in a hand, and I also think the first player to 700 had the option to end the hand there. There is also a bonus for a safe trip, which I believe means no accidents, flats or gas emergencies.
If someone places a hazard card and I place a remedy card can I continue or do I need another Drive card on top ot the hazard card to continue to play?
a wonderful game that travels well and teaches some card mechanics useful in other games,

1:00 - that was impressive. A single swipe and all four cards landed exactly in place under their hazard cards.
It was shot in reverse
That was super helpful and WAYYYYYYY easier than reading the 30-page instruction book that came with my 1962 game!
I just bought this game for my kids for Xmas. They shortened the instructions book to four or five pages. Lol
What happens when the deck is gone through once??
This is a great and quick breakdown video on how you play Mille Bornes. Thank you or sharing it!
wow...I had this decades ago as a kid, loved it, but the card designs are still the exact same as I remember them to be.

That's our goal. Quick, straight to the point, introductions to a game. Something you can quickly watch before making a purchase.
Appreciate the quick thorough walk through! Big thanks

You're so welcome!
Straight to the point. Thanks!
Very succinct and effective description. Thank you
Underrated channel
Perfect game intro. Thanks
Thanks for a “to the point” overview of the game play!
This was an unexpectedly helpful video. So glad I found this. Now my family can play this game that’s been sitting in the closet! :) Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
It’s a shame that the cards no longer have the French words on them. That was a teachable experience while playing, especially for kids.
This was a great tutorial! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it.

Which online store can we buy it from?

I think that answered my question then

Officially, yes. I don't play this way as it slows down the game.
So how do you find out who win the game
Once a player or team accumulates 1,000 points the game ends and the player or team with the most points wins.
COO FOO RAY!! Lmao
