    Well that couldn't have been better timed, I was just about to buy some but it's a long time since I've used it and needed a good recap of how to use them. Brilliant, thank you👍😁👍

    How many hours should I fire it after applying the gold rust? And can I just apply one layer?

    Wow! This is great! My old ceramics teacher taught us to use the mop with our fingers!! The bigger bottles are actually a great idea because the small tiny ones fall over sooo easily!! I wish you had demonstrated how to use the gold off!

    Do you recommend leaving the lid open on invented kiln as well? If so why?

    Good video! Not sure why it took Mayco so long to put one out. I've been using overglazes for years but had to really hunt for information when I first started. I fire the gold to cone 016 (so a little hotter than recommended) and get great results! I do this because so many of my overglaze transfers I use fire to cone 016 and I combine my firings.

    Is there a video on process of doing overgrazing
    Application process ?
    Bisque fire with reg glazes then apply overglaze and retire to?

      @MaycoColors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would apply glaze to your bisque and fire as normal. Then apply the overglaze and fire again to the proper temperature (019/018 for golds and 020 for MOP).

    I noticed when you went to clean to pearl brush, you contaminated your essence, it is now shadow blue. Should you have separate cleaner for each?

    • @MaycoColors
      @MaycoColors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some will have an Essence bottle for each overglaze labeled to separate each one for this purpose.

    I have fired the MOP as well as the gold lusters both to 018....is that no longer advisable?

    • @MaycoColors
      @MaycoColors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the golds can be but we suggest cone 020 for MOP.

      @@MaycoColors thank you very much for this enlightening video. Could you please provide the equivalance of cone 20 firing temperature in celsius? Thank you 🙏🏻

    Can you fire these to cone 06? I’m new to this but I love those and really want to try them but the studios kiln goes to cone 06.

    • @MaycoColors
      @MaycoColors  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. These are a cone 019/018 or cone 020 for Mother of Pearl. These are applied after your cone 06 firing.

      If your studio kilns go to cone 06 then the kiln can go as low as cone 020 (this is much cooler than cone 06) but you have to let the studio know you need to fire to only the lower cone.

    Cats tongue gets called filbert in some places, as it is the shape of a filbert nut. This was a very useful video, the lustre is expensive so I wanted to be sure of how to do it so I didn’t waste it.

    • @MaycoColors

      Most products will say they are not compatible with lustres.

    TAKE THIS VIDEO DOWN! Mayco acquired Duncan overglazes then likely under pressure from some entity DISCONTINUED production of all overglazes. It leaves many of us with a big problem.

    • @MaycoColors
      @MaycoColors  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      We discontinued overglazes due to the updated toxicology regulations, packaging issues, and our supplier not willing to work with us to make changes to combat these issues. This video is still educational for those that still have overglazes they are using, so we will not be taking it down as of now.

    Is it possible to touch up mother of pearl over the powdered areas that ran and re-fire again?
