I love my Banshee. Never lets you down. I've been out with a buddy in 60mph+ wind who's £950 tent failed and my Banshee held up no issues. I partially detach the inner and move it out of the way when I'm cooking or sitting in bad weather. When I'm going light weight it's normally summer so I bring tarp and bivvy.
It’s a brilliant bit of kit 👍 absolutely perfect for wild camping (definitely starting out) only issue I have is head room but I knew that beforehand. I love it it’s a top bit of kit
Wow that’s an absolute bargain 👌🏼 it’s a great little tent and shouldn’t let you down 👍 mine has been great and I don’t think I’d ever sell it even if I end up with a boat load of tents lol 😂
@@Walkingwildcampinguk yeah I’m super chuffed, your video helped me make the choice so thanks for doing the review 👍🏼. I’m just getting into camping so this is my first ever tent, look forward to testing it next weekend. 🏕️
It’s a brilliant bit of kit. I’m going to be getting something with a little more head room next year just for winter camps. I’ve really enjoyed the banshee 200 tho great tent ⛺️
I bought a Vango Banshee 200 from Go Outdoors this week for £82.50. They had a special offer on and I got a discount with my Camping And Caravanning Club membership card. I've wanted one for years. Just got to get out there, and give it a test now.
@@Walkingwildcampinguk it'll be the Peak District I think, Bamford Edge maybe or near to Kinder Scout as that's not too far from me. My dream location would be up on Ilgill Head overlooking Wast Water.
@@ianreynolds2106 the north side of kinder is nice n quiet 👍 I’m looking forward to getting some more hiking n wild camping in the Lake District towards end of July 🙌⛰️🥾
Just bought one of these in sale, looked at the Tempest 200 a few years ago but somehow never got around to buying a Vango tent. Got into wild camping just over a year ago and started with the Alpkit Soloist, another great budget tent. Just before Xmas bagged a Helm 1 in the sales which I’ve been using ever since, but I’m very excited about camping in the banshee, it almost seems a right of passage for backpacking. Go Outdoors currently have a great deal on the 200 & 300, i’m glad I was able to still get a new one, the fact Vango still sell it, is surely testament to it’s popularity and quality.
It’s a fantastic bit of kit and one I’ll probably keep hold of forever. Will be my go to when I take people with me to use for their first wild camps 👍. I’m going to get myself a helm 2 at some point. Using the Durston x-mid p1 atm 👌🏼 mint bit of kit 👊🏼⛺️👍
@@Walkingwildcampinguk The Helm is fantastic, I’m quite tall and the 1 person model is big enough, is really sturdy and has a great vestibule! I believe the Helm 2 has an extra door, I’m sure it’ll make a great winter tent for those longer nights or a bit more comfort on shorter trips 👍
Nice one Mossy. Nice looking tent that mate. I know it’s not particularly tall but most of the time you’ve got your head down in it, knocking out the z’s ! 🤣🤣
No problems glad it helped 👍. Brilliant bit of kit you’ll love it I’m sure. Where you going out in it mate any plans ? Thanks for watching n commenting 🙌
It’s a great starter tent if you’re getting into the wild camping game 👍⛺️ served me well love the banshee just that head room issue. Other than that it’s a brilliant bit of kit 👍
I thought about 1 of these and decided that it would drive me mental not being able to sit up in it.. Instead I bought a 3f UL Gear Taiji 2. It's lighter than the Banshee, about the same price (£145 when bought from Collins Outdoors or Camperlists and not buying the Vango in a sale) and importantly I can sit up in it. Used it at a festival a couple of months ago and it easily withstood a very rainy and windy couple of days. Life got in the way of me trying it out in the wild but I think it wouldn't have a problem coping.
Sounds like you’ve got a belter tent ⛺️. I’ll have to have a look at that myself 👌🏼 been told before it’s a great tent. Thanks for watching and commenting ✌️
Looks great , i like the side opening and two doors plus a bit of height in a snall part . Need to update as mine is 20 years old and needs more material as parts are missing now . I wasnt expecting the price to be so reasonable of features. I would rather buy from an actual shop where did you get yours?
I have watched a lot of these videos recently but they tend to miss something that I feel is essential ie the weight. All the other factors like price, robustness and size all have to be compared with how heavy it is. I wonder if these review videos are often aimed at people that don't want to walk more than a few miles. I've just lugged a 3kg tent for three days on the Cambrian way. It's a smashing well designed and well priced tent but I have now bought a tent that is half the weight . It will be more coffin like for sure but the 1.5kg that it will save make it worth it
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’m sure I put the weight on screen in the video it’s 2.4kg. I bought a Durston x-mid p1 as a multi day hiking tent. It’s a walking pole tent and is about 700g I’ll be reviewing that soon now I’ve used it all this past summer. What tent did you get at 1.5kg ?. I’m looking to invest in a top end tent next year like a hilleburg for next winters wild camping ⛺️. Thanks again for watching and commenting means a lot when people interact with channel 🤙
Sorry I must have missed the weight on the screen. The tent I lugged around the Cambrian way walk was the Vango Tempest 300. I bought a 3 man tent to try to persuade my partner to join me. For me the defining thing about my hiking and camping is the fact that my business makes it impossible for me to get out between Feb and Nov. so I need something robust enough to take winter conditions, light enough to carry through difficult conditions and cheap enough for a skint nurseryman. I've bought the Vango nevis which for a budget tent will, I think, tick some boxes. I still need to reduce the weight of my other gear but the tent is the place to start.@@Walkingwildcampinguk
@charles-mr4oz brilliant stuff mate 👍. It’s tough going in winter that’s for sure. Long dark nights. Hope the new tent works out for you 👍 vango is a brilliant company and I think they make fantastic tents and very good value 👌🏼. I’m gonna be doing a couple multi day hikes and wild camps next year 👍 Cumbria way and Hadrians wall are definitely on the list 👍.
If you want extra space I’d look at the Naturehike cloud peak 2 for a similar price and it’s pitch in one and free standing 👍. I’ve the Durston x-mid 1 now loads of head room and vestibule space plus it’s only 800g
