The narrator of this video could have done a little more research and learned that the name BLACKSTREET actually came from the original member (Joseph Stonestreet) and Chauncey Black.
That little fact is never mentioned, but Google (Baby Be Mine) by Blackstreet, and the lead singer in the video is JOSEPH STONESTREET, hence the name Backstreet!
And that, is where the name originated!
Sounds like some in the group forgot their roles. Teddy WAS the producer/rapper. Chauncey WAS the original Lead w'BlackStreet. Until Davis came w'his Silky sound... they both did the damn thing. Back in the 90s and 2000s, females would tell me I looked a little like Dave!!! I actually saw him in a Kroger late night in Atlanta back in 06! I had just left a club and had a fur coat on!!! I was walking down isles and saw dude!!! He actually had a fur on too, but his was way more expensive than mine!!! lol looked at each and he dapped me up!!! Shit was crazy
