Thanks Chris. Your soap was one of the best I've used in a long time. I like a soap that can take a lot of water and yours certainly can. Lovely scent on it too. I wish you every success for the future. Kevy 😀👍
Factory reset did the job 👍 That is a wonderful looking brush. Totally agree with you regarding the difficulty in saying "this is better because" due to the many factors involved in a shave. Good point well made as they say.
I've been using the 84 game changer and have had some amazing shaves. There's something to say about doing a little research before buying and I gotta say thanks for all the reviews they help a lot.
Hi Kevy- Great shave and razor comparison video; thank you! Fantastic lather with the Oaken Lab soap. Nicely done all around. I hope your week has gotten off to a great start and best regards!
Thanks for this comparative. If I were to go by feedback alone (not just volume), the Homelike has the supreme tonality of efficiency. You can hear it reducing beard growth with each stroke. I agree that although the Homelike's handle is an attractive diamond pattern, the channels within should be deeper to increase grip. I own both the .68, and .84 Game Changer(s) respectively. I have no complaints other than the blade loading. It seems to have been designed just to be different; and for no other reason. I am growing to like this Russian wonder with each demonstration. To add a wrinkle, I consider a comparison between the Rockwell 6S and the Homelike Start to be on more of an equal footing as far as features, and variable degrees of aggression. The soap is quite a performer. I have heard many sing its praises. The Silver Blue was well considered. It's the blade Manny recommended when we discussed the Game Changer in group. It is finally storming here. It will give temporary respite from the crucible-like heat. Not to mention, as a pluviophile, I am in an almost euphoric peace with the dramatic rumble of the thunder, and the rhythmic drumming of the rain on the window. Already 40+ past the 8000 mark? You are beyond compare, mate! I await the next spine-tingling episode of Kevy Shaves. We'll speak soon. My kind regards to Shona, and Riley B. King. Cheers!
Awaiting delivery if a Rockwell 6C in jet black finish on Friday. Unfortunately got charged an additional £28 customs & handling charge by Royal Mail. I could have had a Fatip Grande for that much...
I like the GC price, the 316 steel, and handle choices. I have both the Radio Knob and the Super Knurl, the latter is as you say Kevy, just terrific. But I'll likely give in to curiosity and grab the Start!
Amazing razor's Kevy, we are so spoilt for choice! Father Christmas is going to be getting a large list of shaving products. Loving the Golden Syrup! Flapjacks, on.porridge, golden syrup sponge, treacle tart, the list is endless. Thank you for the upload.
The Bear compare to the Beaver both have their own merits. A fascinating experiment with top class results, the Oaken Lab lather looks top notch with quality performance.
Thank you for the excellent review, Kevy! Every once in a while I'll use a slant, a DOC, or the Rockwell 6C, but I use the .84 Game Changer most days and either the Mamba or AS-D2 when I want a milder shave. The Homelike looks like a good option, but I get the impression any advantage over my current tools would be marginal. Thanks again for a very helpful review.
It looks like, between these two razors and new .90 mm Nodachi, you're looking into ever widening blade gaps. As an American, I want to say how impressed I am that NHS covers this. :-)
Great comparison shave Kevy💈💈 Not having used the Russian made Start razor, it seems to work nicely. Having said that, I'll put my money on the Game changer .84 which I have and use regularly👍 The price, knurling, fit and finish of the Razorock makes it a winner for me. Soap and splash looked like a winner as well. Nice video again sir. Enjoy!
Great comparison shave video. Enjoyed and agree on your objective of the comparison. Both razor will be different. Wish I can try both too...have a good day Kevy and thanks!
Was unable to find that soap in Germany as well. Not surprised abt the russian razor, they fly/flew in orbit even b4 the US. Sure they can build razors. Cost in Russia much lower than Canada, so the Homelike 'could' be somewhat lower priced. Cheers Achim+
The Gamechanger 68P is super smooth to me. The head geometry is awesome, especially under the nose. The knurling is great (best i have). The weight and the length of the handle are superb as the built quality is. So would should i say? Best razor i own, even over the Rockwell which is superb too! Thanks for the comparison. Will you compare the smaller gap blades too? :-)
Hey Jens. The .68 is a great razor too. I think I may have found the perfect blade for the .84, the Gillette Silver Blues was awesome. I might try the smaller blade gaps. Cheers. Kevy 👍
Thanks Kevy. I have all of the Game Changers razors are they are great. I would like to try out the homelike but I’m a little nervous using my credit card on the Russian web. Great video but, why switch the razors on both sides of your face.
That Homelike Razor sure is beautiful! I went to the website but was unable to see the English translation of the words on the website but looks to be a cool looking website! I use my GameChanger pretty much almost every other Shave because it’s that good. Have a great week👍😎
What is the golden syrup tin for? I don't dare speculate what possible uses golden syrup might have in the bathroom 😱 Forgive me if the rogue tin has already featured. My memory is horrendous.
Hi Kevy thanks for doing this comparison. I agree that the homelike looked smoother and I think it's because the top cap is a little wider giving you a smoother blade feel. I also think the gamechanger had more audible feedback and has a smaller top cap which looked like it was easier for you to get around nose. Great job Kevy as always.
Hey Kevy u ever tried the Razr Rock open comb version of the Game Changer very very efficient I would say between the close comb and the open comb I got the best shave out of the open comb but still very smooth both versions very nice shave. That new Russian razor looks quite nice. Good video that soap looks nice as well. Cheers.
Hi Kevy. Can you recommend anything to stop bleeding on little nicks i get usually on the second pass going across the grain.Thanks.Love watching your videos.
Hi Richard. If going across the grain is causing you irritation, stop doing that pass. Or try going the opposite way across the grain. If you're getting nicks going from left to right, try going right to left. Or even leave the across the grain pass out and do another with the grain. Also try a milder blade and a lighter touch. If you do still get little nicks and cuts, a styptic pencil works great and also an alum block will help sea life up any little nicks etc. Let me know how it goes. Cheers Kevy 👍
I thought i'd treat myself to a new rockwell 6s razor.Although it cost me £70 from the U.S.I've also got a 1960s Fatboy on it's way as thought i'd try an adjustable razor.Would like to get thors hammer but that's a bit too pricey for me. I like watching your videos but the temptation in buying the shaving products you show can be hard to resist.
Kevy, Great review! The super knurled handle on the Game Changer looks absolutely beautiful! I tried the Robert DeNiro mafia grin for my chin (from one of your earlier videos) and it really helps take care of the whiskers in the chin area. Thanks Kevy! Your reviews are the best. Kevy, how long does it take to get the Homelike Razor from Russia, once ordered and secondly, can one trust giving one's Visa number to a foreign country for the Homelike Razor? God Bless you and Mrs. Kevy!
Hi Ernie. The de Niro technique really works right? I think it took around 1 week to get from Russia to Scotland. I can't comment on the trust thing as they sent it to me. I wouldn't think there would be any issues and if you use a credit card, they'll refund you if anything does go wrong. Kevy 👍😀
Nice shave kevy ! Beautiful razor that Russian . I like my GC but I really dislike the way the blade loads. I have read that Razorock is coming out with a 1.18 GC ,have you heard anything ? Kevy your videos are not long enough ,some of the TH-cam shavers that make 15 minute videos are to long.
Loved the opening, Kevy! I like these and I appreciate the time and effort that they take. Thank you. You and your silly washers... The knurling on that handle is ridiculous! I've got a stainless steel handle from Marggard's that is like that, just amazing. The last time I purchased blades, I picked up several packs of Nacet (which I'd never tried before), several packs of Voskhod (one of my favorite blades), and then a single pack of Gillettte Platinum and Silver Blue. Both of those last ones are very, very nice. Better than the Nacet blades and maybe better than the Voskhod. Just smooth, comfortable blades. Dang it! Well, when you get the Homelike razor back, please do a comparison between that razor and the Rockwell 6S (unless, of course, you feel that there really is no comparison). And, again, to those who feel the video is too long, just fast forward to the part where you start shaving! Sheesh. It cracks me up because they're in control of how much of your content they watch! You should really introduce they person off camera. He/she has some really good points. Lastly, have a great rest of your week, my friend. Love to you, Mrs Kevy, and Riley.
Thank you Jack. This revisit of the Gillette Silver Blues was a bit of a revelation for me in this shave. Superb in both of these razors. Cheers. Kevy 👍
Excellent comparison shave, Kevy! I really enjoyed it! The RazoRock Game Changer has been getting a lot of face time in my den lately. I have the .84-P and the JAWS. Both are great, but I think the RazoRock Game Changer JAWS is smoother ATG. Thanks again, Kevy! Cheers! -Rob
Hi kevy great comparison video as always but here’s one for u I was browsing this morning as u do lol I came across The Braveheart from executive shaving and they’ve informed me that they’re going to be making a stainless Steel head to accompany the handle wellthat definitely puts a cat 🐈 amongst the pigeons as fair as I’m concerned as long as it’s same or near same price price point as original Braveheart by the way I was thinking of .84 game changer FFS trying to nail it down to one or the other I’ll stop watching u for awhile lol 😂
Hey Kevy! Chris from Oaken Lab here. Thanks for using our products! We’re super honored. Looked like a great shave too.
Thanks Chris. Your soap was one of the best I've used in a long time. I like a soap that can take a lot of water and yours certainly can. Lovely scent on it too. I wish you every success for the future. Kevy 😀👍

Some very nice razors you used. Always nice to hear thoughts on how products compare.
Great shave Kevy! Thanks as always!!

Lol you're a wild man Kevy! I just always get a kick from watching your vids. Keep em coming!

No. It feels much milder. Kevy 👍
Buy both and switch handles...

What is the golden syrup tin for?

I have it on my toast after the shave! 😂
Don’t u know it’s a Scottish tradition to have golden syrup and toast after a grueling 2 hour shave lol 😀😀
