I have been for many years Quo fan but have a special place in my heart for Rick I meet him several times over the years a sweet and very nice man with a big heart. I met Rick a few times as well. Lovely down to earth guy he was a real hero of mine. As sad as I was when we lost Bowie or Lemmy amounst others I actually felt a real sense of personal loss with Rick. I felt as sad as I did when I lost my Dad.
In my lifetime I have heard that the best rhythm guitarist of all time, Bruce Welch, Rick Parfitt, and Malcolm Young. Me, I loved them all and enjoyed all their music. There is no doubt that Rick was special.
OMG.....who are you? This has to be the very best tribute to Rick! Where did you get all these Family photos from? My love for SQ began BEFORE 'Pictures of Matchstick Men' had been released, so hearing 'Are you growing tired of my love' kinda hit home for me personally as I had bought their more 'Pop Music' (but even then there was an edge to them that made them different to the average Pop Band). Rick (and in fairness, Francis too) had a great sense of humour, but Rick was mostly just 'a laugh' Full Stop. I personally feel that for all the 'wrong' might have done, he really had a heart. He wrote beautiful lyrics in many of his song's and you could 'feel' him through some songs. Great photos here whoever you are and fabulous Rick songs too. Well done! I will treasure this tribute!!
Just a fabulous tribute to one of the best rhythm guitarists in the entire world of rock. I miss the guy as quo will never be the same ever sgain. Shame on francis for the interview he gave on tv saying they shouldn't have resuscitated Rick. And thats his mate too !!!
There is only one Rick Parfitt! We could be his best friend!but overall he was a true rock and roller to his death,,that's all he ever wanted to be,He told me personally in Perth Western Australia at the Perth Entertainment Centre in 2002 ,backstage before the band went on stage. But his memory will live on,but I must say,,Richie Malone is doing a fantastic job,,Richie Malone doesn't imitate Rick,,Richie Malone does his job and thoroughly loves doing it on stage ,as well as Andy Bown ,Rhino Edwards and a great drummer Leon Cave This is the Music that we love,,it doesn't matter who has been in the band or who left the band, its the music that will go on forever, despite whether you love the original Quo or the current Quo, Its the Fucking Music that beats on forever,,,also Alan Lancaster who I loved the most,R.I.P. They're both safe together with his faboous mum! You were all faboulous in your time! Miss you all a gr8 fealvm.
