Afghans have two choices: 1. Live under Taliban rule, where the interpretation of Sharia Law dictates that men must provide for their families, grow beard, pray regularly, and women must stay home, speak quietly in public. Under this regime, there is a focus on good security, no conflict, no drugs, and no dancing boys, but also limited economic opportunities. 2. Choose conflict, with an economy dependent on foreign aid, theft, and insecurity. In this scenario, there is widespread drug use, women's schools and universities remain open, people can dance and sing, and men are allowed to shave, though there is no guarantee of personal safety.
Did Caliphate (first 3 generations) of the past declare a law where men must grow beard and women voices banned in public and music banned as well? Becoming a Muslim is even more important but why is it forbidden in Islam to force Islam upon someone? As far as I know, the four khalifa did not have such rules. If in Islam, the religion itself cannot be forced on someone, how can a specific law be forced on it's people? Where does it say in Islam that the law has to be forced on the people and if they do not follow it, they go to jail or get beaten up. How many other Muslim countries have this law? The idea of forcing Islamic laws on people is Bid'ah in my opinion. Can you name me an Islamic empire who forced Islamic law it's on people? The purpose of life is a test, but where is the test if you are forced to do something with no free will. All these laws do is make people hate Islam. Look at what happen in Iran, The Iranian people have distance themself from Islam because of these restrictive laws. The Taliban are close to becoming like the khawarij. Is it normal for you that women don't go to middle or high school? There is an International Organisation like the UNICEF, a branch of UN that cares about it.
As an Afghan man, I don't believe the "Taliban" mentality is foreign to Afghan culture. Rather, it represents an extreme form of the traditional mindset that already exists in Afghan society. The Taliban are simply further to the right compared to the rest of the Afghan population, much like the warlords who ruled the country before them. I see the Taliban as an evolved version of the Mujahideen, which reflected the dominant mindset of many Afghans. Otherwise, the Mujahideen wouldn't have thrived in the 1990s. In villages, the tradition of marrying off a girl to settle disputes is a common thing today. Let nostalgia not take us away from the reality. I also disagree with the notion that the Taliban don't represent Afghan culture. In fact, they are a reflection of a society that has historically denied women their rights-a society rooted in patriarchy, tradition, and customs that systematically oppressed women. The so-called "indigenous modernization" that the guest referred to in this debate, particularly during Amanullah Khan's reign in the early 1900s, illustrates this point. Amanullah, a monarch, attempted to introduce reforms inspired by Western values after a series of international visits. However, these values were so foreign to Afghan society that they faced fierce resistance, eventually forcing Amanullah to flee the country and die in exile. In my personal experience, my family moved from central Afghanistan to Kabul in the 1960s. My father sent my sisters to school and university, but once they got married, their husbands prevented them from continuing their education. One of my sisters was in her third year at the Kabul University medical faculty when her husband, a practicing doctor-not a Taliban member, as they didn’t exist at the time-stopped her from pursuing her studies. The ban on my sister was similar to what we see today in Afghanistan. Later, my sister moved to Europe and wanted to take on some odd jobs, but her son, also a doctor, wouldn't allow her to work. When a panelist claims that an educated mother would never allow her child to be misguided, this is not always true. A mother, who grew up secondary to her brothers, might have been fortunate enough to attend school, but would likely have had to take on more housework after school as a "favor" in order to continue her education. Meanwhile, her brothers could play or watch TV, illustrating the deep-rooted inequality that predated the Taliban phenomenon. Afghanistan has always been a closed and isolated society, steeped in religious and patriarchal traditions where women were consistently oppressed and denied their right, except the few elite outliers.
My best friend, Juana, is Afghan and a month ago she moved to Afghanistan to take care of her grandpa. She rarely calls me from her house, but when she does she says that life there is miserable and that it makes her very uncomfortable for her to always be around police officers. She also hates that she now has to cover her whole self. She is a very pretty girl, but the taliban are taking it away from her. I really want her to move back, so she is happy again here.

The purpose of life is a test, but where is the test if you are forced to do something with no free will. All these laws do is make people hate Islam. Look at what happen in Iran, The Iranian people have distance themself from Islam because of these restrictive laws. The Taliban are close to becoming like the khawarij.
Islam is not this harsh way, but rather with justice, laws, human rights, and also respect for women and education for every young man or woman.
Besides Afghanistan all Muslim countries not treating Islam harsh that's why they are super powers 😂

Because it is non of their business. Just as Taliban is not calling out these moderate islamic countries for not being "islam" enough, these countries have no right to call out Taliban. It doesn't necessarily mean that it's right it's just how the world runs
@@BadaruKhadijah If things become morally wrong it's society's duty to correct it. Which moral compass being applied is a separate matter.
There is no compulsion as in "forcing non-muslim to become muslim" . Once you decide to believe the creator has communicated to you and that creator is Allah, surely you must abide to of all his commands. Many non muslim however probably doesn't realize that most of these laws are different according to places. For example, in front of close families, muslim women can dress pretty similar to what any acceptable decent women of the west normally wear. In this case , they can even show their hair. No music in cars? pretty sure no big deal. You can listen to them in your own house!
@@adlius1736They don't understand the difference between private conduct, and public conduct. Western women publicise everything they do in private, so no morality left to judge. We don't need to explain to them, just have a good laugh and get ready for jannah insha'Allah
These ladies don't even live in Afghanistan! 😂
It’s their country. Women allow yourselves to be liberated once again from the shackles of immorality. Be free and obey Allah swt.
True freedom is being locked away to study Koran. This is what women should do
Taliban morality is an oxymoron.
As a french, france is my country. And it's our wish to ban hijab in our country. No one has a right to criticize us to what we do in our own country with outsiders
