So glad you each enjoyed this one. I find this piece much more tragic and sad than funny, but I like that about this show. It can address and convey very sad and serious issues without overloading people's tolerance to deal with those subjects. And also I am impressed with how they sometimes plumb the depth of characters they play. I was really impressed with the portrayal of the guy in the pizza shop by Key. Sometimes, not always, they bring a quiet dignity to the characters and I like that.
Now that you're familiar with the Wendell character you've got to watch The Power of Wings. A $15,000-budgeted music video has never been more epic :-)
Key and peele came out years after chappelle show after dave walked away from a huge amount of money to keep going. So at that point comedy central already knew this kind of sketch show can be wildly successful they tripled the budget for the show. This why the production is so much better because technology was better 5 years later and they tripled the money put into it. If chappelle had key & peele production budget and the time they had to get everything right plus the blueprint of the number 1 show on TV to follow then chappelle show would have been the best show of all time by far.
When I was in the Navy the girl at the pizza place ask if anything else. A buddy yelled "YEA! give me your number!" Pizza showed up with her number on the inside of the box. We asked if he would call her... HELL NO! I am 100% certain someone did, being 20 and stupid.
Chapelle was a funnier comedian and did great with the crew he had. Key and Peele are also funny, but they are great actors and directors. I always thought their ability to replicate any directing style for their skits was incredible. They make higher quality sketches, but Chappelle was a better comedian.
Well they do different types of comedy, chappelle was more of a stand up comedian but dabbled in skits, key and peele did great at sketch comedy. Both have done hilarious stuff but I feel like you can’t really compare them

Without the Dave Chappelle show you wouldn't have key & Peele so I think they're both great in their own way because there are two different shows the only thing they have in common are that they're sketch comedy shows. And that's basically the last you ever heard or saw of Dave Chappelle (at least for a while - this was several years ago). So, the Media 'Execs' got a little offended...but had Chappelle accepted, there might not be a 'K&P' today, js...
Chappelle paved the way for key and peele. He broke new ground in terms of sketch comedy in the US and allowed Key and Peele to get more budget on the same network while borrowing chappelles format for sketch. Both are great but Chappelle was creatively unique when it came out.
Since you guys did Joe Rogan on This is Not Happening, you should do Jim Breuer’s Sears Terrorist story! The guy is hilarious and one of the best episodes on the series
