Activity Mode:
1974 Amtrak Empire Builder #8 - Part 2;
Continuing on towards Yakima from Cle Elum, the Empire Builder's route traces the scenic Yakima River Canyon. In the waning evening sun you will be taking the train to Pomona where the activity ends just past the Yakima River bridge.
You will have a short wait at Cle Elum for the local coming in from Yakima. Running about 10 minutes late, your only stop will be Ellensburg, WA. There are 2 opposing westbound freights, but the BN dispatcher will do his best to minimize delays. You'll be racing one of the Milwaukee Road's Thunderhawk trains (#200) along the river to Ellensburg. This is the same train you saw at Black River Jct. in part 1. Have a save trip.
Original activity can be found on TrainSim.com (1974_amtrak_empire_builder_8.zip)
