I have been looking everywhere for instuructions on how to do this! It just so happens I was also going to use jack daniels bottles, the idea for the wheel is awesome!!! This looks amazing.
This is great. I'm not a JD drinker but think I could do something similar with my colored bottle collection. Just need something a little more elegant/girly instead of the wheel.
My husband and I have been looking for instructions on how to wire 5 lights together but I can't find what I need... you came so close! Lol I need the same info that luffsnuff needs! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a follow up video!!! I was hoping to have the light up by Thanksgiving... no pressure... ;)
Thanks so much for these instructions! I'm planning a "candolier" using cat food cans and LED lightbulbs. I would really appreciate a supply list for the electrical stuff if you have the chance!
there are a lot out there that use heat to do the trick, but that causes uneven cuts. I am actually working on a video right now that shows more detail on the cutting of the bottles.
Just brilliant! I love the way it turned out.. I did a Chandelier with Square bottles as well. I permanently dimmed the lights by wiring them in 2 sets of 3. I have posted a video on my channel. You can see how it looks
It actually would be easier if you first connect the wire to the socket, then feed that wire through the tube and screw the tube onto the socket. I've tried it both ways. With experience comes knowledge. I like the idea to use the bottle cap. Unfortunately, not all bottles have caps, some have corks, you'll have to improvise. I like that he left the labels on the bottles. Love the idea to use the old wheel. Too bad their wasn't another way to hide the wiring.
+bderouen1964 ask and you shall receive...internal wiring. it was a little more labor intensive but came out great. you are correct that improvisation is key. we used the caps because the bottles had them.
+dwhitmer1 forgive my horribly delayed response. the main 3 things are lamp wire, candelabra sockets, and and the threaded rods to hold it all in place. lamp kits at your local home improvement store are a good place to start. we had everything lying around the shop so i couldn't really give you a cost estimate. if you are wiring a few together, make sure you have a good knowledge of soldering. a better video for wiring is th-cam.com/video/XUq3buM115c/w-d-xo.html same idea with a few modifications...theres always next christmas...
+Jaco Fourie 8ish inches long, but that will vary depending on bottle length and they are the standard threaded lamp rods 1/8 or 1/4 inch maybe... to be honest most of the lamp was made from scrap parts lying around the shop so the dimensions were not really a concern at the time.

Love it...wish I had the know who to make something like this!

exellent! how did u cut the bottom of the bottle?
@luffsnuff we used regular lamp wire. A follow up video will be done showing the wiring process. not sure when, but i promise it is coming.
Do you really need to keep the little cardboard tube that comes with the socket? can i just wrap some electrical tape around the wires and screws?
can you please tell me or give me a link that shows how to cut the bottles like that.im trying alot but still nothing.thanx and great job.

Wow! This turned out flawless!!! I want something similar but hanging with mason jars. How much did the project cost you?
not including the bottle cost, the wheel and all the rest was around $200.00. mason jars would be sweet!
I think so too!!! Thank you! :D
I'm designing a lamp for school and in desperate need for help! What kind of light bulbs did you use?

I am making a Jack Daniels light for my husband for christmas could you please list the materials you used for illuminating the bottles?

HOW TO WIRE A CUSTOM CHANDELIER
+amcm mcma th-cam.com/video/XUq3buM115c/w-d-xo.html same project with some insight into the steps not shown in this video.
what is the dimensions of the rods

cool :)
You dont have to...We thought it gave it a cleaner look.
It's good to see the woodprix has new instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
Great video, man I'm getting sick of that song....
