      We are already there. The scam and spam industries are thriving, we get scam calls on an almost weekly basis. On top of that, because the current youth has extremely skewed sex ratios because of a preference for sons, crimes against women are still out of control. In general, this is the age demographic which is responsible for higher violent crimes, so we are in a terrible position.
      And instead of being mad at the government for not building the education infrastructure and encouraging job creation, these youth are directing their anger at religious minorities and blaming them for their condition

    All these happened becuz of up and Bihar's overpopulation. Maharshtra fertility rate is 1.6 and Mumbai fertility 1.3. 2.5 cr population in Mumbai and only 97 lac votes. 1.2 cr population lives in slums of Mumbai. PPL come to Mumbai to live in slums. 83% slum population in mumbai don't have voting rights for Mumbai or Maharashtra. 63 lac north indians live in Mumbai and 23 live in legal homes and out of that 17 lac have voting rights. Quality beats quantity.
    Israel has shown that a good small military can beat much bigger weak Muslim militaries.
    Singapore has shown that a good small population can be more productive than a big bad population.
    Poor people who have many children will only remain poor as they'll have more mouths to feed.
    Poor people who have one child will have money to save and spend on education, clothes, and housing.
    It's best for the government to keep their hands off and let the people figure out this by themselves. The smart will be rich and on top. The rest will serve them for bread.

The surrounding countries supply the workforce in Singapore, they are good at finance, that's it... The rest of the occupations like Civil Engineering and Constuction work are filled with Malaysians and Indonesians... once again, please don't include Singapore or any ASEAN country in your argument, especially if you don't live in Asia... you'll only make us look bad

      @@kenblue1065 his idea that Singapore's population can be more productive than a bigger country is absurd. If you went to Singapore you will know that it's not just the Singaporeans themselves that's supporting the country.. it's the whole ASEAN and the rest of the world combined.. Singapore receives migrants mostly from Chinese descent, so not all of the population was born or from there, and the fact that they employ basically everybody from the ASEAN disproves his idea as well.
      A better example would be South Korea, that could work with his idea since they practice protectionism in there...
      A person from Europe or other non Southeast Asian country wouldn't get it.. SEA has been interconnected for the past 1000 years, there has always peace in this region.

    One comment on the desired fertility- in India that number does not mean much because women's preferences don't really count here. Sad as it is, there are very high rates of domestic violence and the pressures of family combined with son preference and violence against women ensure that these numbers have little meaning. Even access to contraception is controlled. The long-acting contraceptive injection is a game changer, but families do prevent women from getting them and Asha workers are viewed with suspicion by men still. The history of Indira Gandhi's forced vasectomies doesn't help matters.
    The dropping rates of women's workforce participation is only going to make things worse. The Indian government had made 6 months maternity leave compulsory from companies of a certain size and that has only made women's workforce participation worse in a country that anyway dislikes women's freedom and rights.
    The link between women working and fertility in India is a bit different from other countries. They don't always delay childbearing in favour of career growth. The link in more because of higher agency for women when they are financially independent. They cannot be married off at a young age against their will and be forced into childbearing against their will. Families here have a lot of control over women's 'choices'.

    A pretty scary scenario, but it could be exacerbated by troubles that could comes as a result of all this, that being a poorer, less stable society. Leading people to migrate aboard or have even less children as a result, as well as more deaths leading to further shortages of labor and skilled workers, making things even worse by compounding them. Sectarianism and political chaos could add more fuel to the fire.

    • @paranoah8550
      @paranoah8550 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We already lack skilled labour because of a lack or training and education. So, what we have right now is a huge population of unskilled and unemployment youth who are frustrated. And that is what causes all the crimes and sectarian politics at present. I think, a declining population if paried with better education and training, will actually benefit India a lot, especially if corruption is brought under control

    • @cane6074
      @cane6074 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@paranoah8550 I think it is problems is not just an issue with corruption and nepotism, is well as secretarism. I also think India is going to a major identity crisis right now, The good feelings and sense of self provide by the anti-colonial struggle are fading and the country's only functioning right now on inertia created by that which is slowing down. I think that's the reason why sectarianism is getting so bad combined with social and economic conditions as well as a political elite that are largely disentered in fixing anything, which are causing people to look elsewhere four sources of identity. What Indian needs to do now is it needs to needs to redefine itself a knew identity to revitalize itself as a social entity. That being combination of the pride from the independent struggle, but also something else beyond that.

    • @paranoah8550
      @paranoah8550 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cane6074 I don't think the identity crisis is the cause, it is manufactured and took hold only because of existing dissatisfaction. And that eventually results from corruption. There was a lot of enthusiasm about rebuilding after independence, but the momentum was killed because of corruption. Then there was another spurt of development after liberalisation, but even that momentum faded because of corruption.
      The whole identity thing is manufactured by political parties to distract people from questioning them. Before the identity politics reached its peak, people used to blame politicians for everything that was wrong. They saw things, rightly in most cases, as the government's responsibility. Now they blame each other.
      This is also happening in the rest of the world. The only difference is that in developed countries this is happening because of plateauing of growth, but in India it is happening because growth was prematurely halted, particularly social development
