  • Ninety percent of persons with scleroderma have the distinctive color changes in the hands that defines Raynaud's. About half of persons with scleroderma may also develop painful ulcers of the skin, particularly in the fingers. A much smaller percentage of persons will develop severe painful ischemic involvement of the fingers. In this module, there is a discussion of the changes in the blood vessels and in the flow of blood that can lead to Raynaud's, ulcers and severe ischemia. In addition, treatments will be discussed.
