If I were an alien and I saw this picture I'd assume that thing (Euphonium) was an instrument to kill. Oh wait but it is.... And he killed overpowered and killed everything within a 12.75 km radius.
Im doing this for solo ensemble this year, this peice is killer but so beautiful and fun, I've learned most of it and have a few months to memorize it im excited!
Does anyone know what Class this is? (idk if that is the right term, like A, B, or C) I play a school 4-valve euphonium (all in a row, 4th valve is not separated) that belongs to my high school and I personally don't think I am very good, but I am a junior right now and my band director wants me to do Solo and Ensemble (I live in Ohio) and I was looking for potential solos and came across this and there's no way I could do it. Is this like a class A piece? It would be cool and I may try to do it next year if I feel up to it, but does anyone have any suggestions for solos I could attempt(preferably like C class or a B that isn't insane)? I play Treble Clef if that matters. Any help would be great
The four in a row system is called a non-compensating system euphonium. Tends to be cheaper and often found in schools and beginners. Non-compensating tend to be more expensive and durable. Plus you have a better range and ease of playing lower with compensating. In a non- you can’t play Concert Pedal B without moving tuning slides. Compensating horns can. Just some info ya know?
Loud FlameKing you can take an excerpt from Rule Britannia, can be found on TH-cam with sheet music or take an excerpt from Demondrae Thurman’s Solo on a concert piece called heritage. Can also be found with sheet music vid on TH-cam. I’m doing the begging 2.5 minutes on it for a class solo.
I'm curious, what horn are you playing this on? =) I just bought this piece and its pretty rad to hear other amazing players shredding with such epicness
..no se de música, pero el Euphonium, y la Tuba, dicen al resto de instrumentos: !retiraos de aquí !, nosotros somos generamos sonidos con mas ternura que ustedes. Saludos desde los 5897 msnm del Cotopaxi.

I use my Euphonium as a weapon to destroy the ear drums of my annoying peers...
