And then she says that if he wants to unite with her, he will have to search for her deep in the sea somewhere. He vows to find her. That's that. They never appeared again in the manga. So it's left at an open ending as to whether Hippo finds her or not. So it's not entirely a happy end or something. I still think their fate is pretty harsh as they can't meet regularly like other couples. Who knows if they found each other?
