- Here is some statues and objects that most players never notice in DMC 5, examined closer.
Chapters:
00:42 - The petrified crystal demons
04:06 - Unique statue in the water
04:47 - Petrified dog
05:33 - Tentacle with fingers
06:01 - Hooded figures
06:49 - Giant black figures
Videos like these just go to show that most of DMC5's environments aren't bland, they're just so ludicrously packed with detail that it ends up being hard to notice all of the little things.
and there is even more in my previous videos about the environments
I'm actually mind blown. I never noticed this and I've put so many hours in DMC5. Great video keep it up!
my first narrated video, I was so nervous t-t
not perfect, but gotta start somewhere
Yo have a really nice voice, don't beat yourself so much
I like the accent, where’s it from?
@@Artobacco hungary :3
They must've really enjoyed adding those details knowing almost no one gonn pay attention to them.
thank you so much for this video! as an artist this is super helpful but also this game is just so cool :] i think the statue with the two birds is supposed to invoke Eva because of the cloak/shrawl used to portray madonnas she also has. the two demon birds her sons who flew the nest. she doesnt have wings to follow them, its a bit heartbreaking. to me the statues in hell are obelisks that resemble anubis.
oh thats so cool, never thought about the statue in that way, and indeed Eva needed to hide from the demons - but failed to do so
- Anubis is an interesting idea, not sure if I see the dog face though
@@LadyAsmodeusyes ugh and the sorrowful placement of that statue! for the other ones to me its snout is flatly positioned downwards and has big bulging eyes like a jackal and is black of course, and to me the meaning of them as judges of the afterlife fits for an entrance to the underworld! who knows if they are seeds, if the Qlipoth grew them or vice versa though... thank you for answering and thank you also for the cool liminal out of bounds shots wowie
@ I can imagine they are seeds though, kinda shaped like a seed, and maybe the Qlipoth grew them out of human flesh - you can also see bloody-fleshy texture on them, after all
@@LadyAsmodeus @LadyAsmodeus wow yeah that's cool. i can definitely accept that headcanon! by the way I don't know if you said it in your other video but the red flowers in scenes might represent the poem In Flanders Fields about poppies growing on the graves of fallen soldiers and London has a festival where red flowers are handed out on the street and in the underground for this reason. Similar to how the Qliphoth grows from the bodies of humans.
The crystalised orbs statues are amazing, I can't believe I've never noticed them before. Thank you for shining the spotlight on them, it just makes the game this much cooler! Also there are some lesser demon dogs in DMC 4, the ones in flames with the rocket head.
Also your narration fit perfectly and I personally prefer it to the text-only videos you previously made, keep up the good work.
nice, thank you! ooh I kinda remember some sort of flame dogs in dmc 4, its been a long time since I played through
I liked the Pegasus statue it was pretty cool to see in front of the hotel but man I wish we seen more cities in DMC 5 maybe like it’s submerged with the demon roots and such like mission 2
I cant express how much l loved this video. both the topic covered (which somehow added onto my ever growing respect and awe in regards to this franchise, like omg so many meaningful and thought out little details! Ive been playing for years and years and im still discovering new things like this today) and the way you composed and narrated the video were very pleasing. wishing you luck!
aw thank you, that means a lot! glad you liked it! yeah there is a lot to notice~
This was so interesting to watch.
And btw are you planning to explore the older DMC games like this? For example DMC 1, 3 and even 2.
yeah I have plans for mentioning 3 and the first game, they have the best environments - I want to reference item descriptions, in order to talk about Dante and Vergil, because I feel like some are hinting at them - for example I believe you can find symbolism to Vergil in the room where you first meet him in DMC 1, with the two items to the left and right to the mirror he is coming out of
That's actually so sick ! I've never took the time to appreciate those details :0
Great content, dude. Loved the lore dive
I just found your channel through this video, I'm supper stoked to binge the rest, I can't believe I didn't find it sooner. DMC 5's art design and environmental storytelling is so underrated. It's such a shame it doesn't get as much attention as other aspects like gameplay or character, the little details sprinkled throughout the game really gives the worldbuilding so much more depth, it really gives the impression that there is a vast world beyond what we and the characters see in the games. Even though DMC has never really put much focus on demon lore there's so many little details we get about it that you can spend hours filling in the blanks with your imagination. Believe me, every time I read or hear someone's headcanon about DMC demonology, or worldbuilding in general a decade gets added to my lifespan. There's just so much you can chew on if you pay closer attention to the minute details.
Also you mentioned at the end that you've read other people's theories and interpretations about the "black objects," I was wondering if you have a link to those posts, or if you remember who wrote them at least, I'd love to read them. I knew a few people on tumblr who covered topics like these a few years back but when I checked on their profiles recently they seem to either be inactive or they just don't talk about DMC anymore.
Anywho, I absolutely loved this video, keep up the good work!
oh thank you, I'm happy to hear that! well, I have some playlist about all my dmc videos~ you can find them in the playlists section. Oh the seeds theory, I think I read it in the comments on one of my videos maybe, where I look at the seeds with photo mode and ask the question what these are, but I don't remember which one and can't even find it to be honest :"D I looked through all of them but can't find it.... its been a long time
@LadyAsmodeus Oh, that's fine I like to comb through comment sections. I'll probably stumble upon it later.
great video i still amazed for the curiosity of the red, green and white orbs statues
Your voice is pretty cute keep up the good work also loved this video very cool
I actually finished playing DMC5 for the first time last month after playing through the entire series beforehand in preparation (reboot included) and I was very disappointed with how lacking the usual atmosphere and environmental storytelling seemed at first. I had other gripes with the game on my first impression, but I’m slowly gaining a greater appreciation for what we got in the final product. Videos like this make me appreciate what the developers were trying to do a lot more than I did initially. Still not completely happy and they of course can’t please everyone, but I view the game in a better light the more I reflect on it.
Edit: Just wanted to add that this is all coming from the perspective of someone who is a longtime fan of the series.
I swear I'll hide the cursor next time
This just goes to shows how much effort and care went into DMC5’s creation, you really don’t notice it until you look hard enough.
ahh another ytuber that pours lore into it and this is you're first spoken video 😂😂😂 you'll get better trust me good job had me interested all the way through the video
4:42 could those birds refer to our well known and loved twins, and the woman covering herself being their mother?
yeah, one of the commenters also suggested that the birds could be the twins, and the woman is similar to Eva. A very interesting idea! I also suggested that the woman could also symbolize the people / humanity, trying to hide from demons - after all, the entire city got attacked, not just the family
This video's fire keep up the good work
thanks, will do~
Awesome attention to detail
those pods figures kinda make me think of demon lords. We have Mundus, Argosax and maybe Sanctuxs and somewhat Urizen. These could be cocoons of the greater demon lords that appear every time
that sounds very interesting, although I'm learning towards the Qlipoth seed idea, I wish it was something cooler than that
The pod statues remaineds me of the pods in DmC devil may cry mission 8 and the unlockable concept art in the same mission category suggests angels inside this pods
Looking at this, i kinda want a full explanation of these petrified demons,
They seem to have sprouted the crystals quite violently.
The demons holding the orbs look really similar to Argosax’s phase 2 from dmc2, with the wings and horns. I don’t know the lore implications of that but the thought id point it out
oh yeah I think I know what you talking about, that guy also has demon horns - although to be fair, this is a pretty normal representation of a devil: horns, wings, tail, but human shape - face also spiky on the chin and ears
there are also some enemy statues in bloody palace if you look at the backround
aren't those mostly the piles of enemy corpses?
Thanks for the late night show, Going to sleep now so night y'all (Or is it ya'll? Too tired to knoww)
alright have a good one
DMC 5's environments are so beautiful and detailed that i refuse believe the game looks bland according to some fans
how have i never noticed that about the caches
I got startled 0:00
I was not expecting a female voice
1:01 : saying that line is sooo sus if it has no context
Cool
The various orbs in these games always had demonic faces after they crystalized (originally it was a reference to the Behelit from Berserk)
I think what is happening here is that the larger mass of crystals is just continuing to crystallize into a humanoid shape, not just the face. It's just like in nature some crystals grow into cubes, some grow into hexagonal prisms.
