Seeing the human and Eliksni children play with the war beast pup made me have the biggest smile, it show how far the world in destiny has come

@@MetaVizionsi think the point was that in destiny 1 we had no allied coalition with the cabal or the eliksni and it would be something strange to a player who only played the 1st game :)
The best part is, this was teased during Season of Arrivals, when the Witness interrupts Eris's teleport and transports us to that illusionary pyramid room.
There are still statues of humans, Cabal, and Eliksni...the 3 races that would unite against The Witness.

And that, is why it failed.
In all its grandiosity and hubris, the achilles heel of its logic was that it could not force purpose into the universe with a knife.
The traveler was always guiding us, even in its silence. We gardened and winnowed with both light and darkness. Its silence was what guided us, if anything.
There's a reason this game tells us: "Guardians make their own fate." The traveler was always urging is to choose our own destiny. It's so sweet.
Not accepting that they can't understand everything, is why they will never understand life.

Honestly, I had Captain Anderson vibes in several interactions - and it did fit the bill of Zavala losing the light and embracing darkness. Change.
I'd like to think that if Lance could have seen this, he would have approved it.
That said, this only has meaning if one has finished the Mass Effect trilogy as well.
I think both did a pretty good job and I did prefer Keith David More but I respect your opinions and yeah does feel saddening to me

20:01 - 20:07 That was probably one of the most wholesome moments in destiny 2. Literally after the battle has been won, children of different species are actually getting along together. Eliksni and human kids actually playing and having fun. 😊 I just hope cabal children have a better chance as well, and possibly the hive under Savathun's guidance.
Destiny’s storytelling has always floated between “pretty good” and “outright bad”, but I genuinely think The Final Shape is the first time Destiny has achieved incredible storytelling. The whole campaign was unbelievable, the best thing Bungie has done since the Halo trilogy (yes I know it’s not the same people), but Cayde’s arc in particular was a masterstroke of storytelling. I thought bringing back Cayde was going to be cheesy and hamfisted, but really they delivered an extremely powerful narrative about coping with loss and the nature of existence. Cayde’s final sendoff was the best moment in the entire Destiny franchise, and was on par with Chief’s “wake me, when you need me” at the end of Halo 3.
Abso-fucking-lutely incredible writing, Bungie deserves a standing ovation for this masterpiece of an expansion.
Watched this video. But did we ever learn anything about the traveler besides the vague gardener stuff, did the traveler interact the guardian and tell us about itself or anything in this final shape? If not that's pretty pathetic after 10 years and still nothing and the traveler silent when it was the whole point of everything in the game.

@@Theemptythroneistaken Isn't Winnower just different name for "darkness"?.. And Witness was embodient of Darkness and change, with power to take and reshape..So what about it now? Witness was speaking about how it portaits ITSELF.
What finish line? The Witness was merely wielding the darkness.

This is by far the best DLC Bungie has actually did since The Taken King and Forsaken.
I'd say this is my #1 in my top 3 best Destiny DLCs.

I noticed when The Witness finally dies it spills light energy everywhere as opposed to the usual orange resonance energy you normally see radiating out when a disciple or other darkness enemy dies.
I think it's meant to mean that the last attack was actually forcing the light into the Witness's body to such a high degree that it overpowers the darkness
I thought that was the voices, the myread billions that constitute it, leaving.

As a Titan I make it my duty to get back up when something knocks me on my ass. But that scene of Cayde reviving our ghost flatlined my ass with no respawn tokens. I cried... a lot...

I got hooked up with destiny from the first game, continued playing that one until i got my ps5, then played destiny 2, and now...to see it end? Man...i feel so happy growing up with such an amazing game

I know it's only a short sequence, but I love that ambience music in the Traveler's Light during the whole sequence where Cayde shows up and restores Ghost... is there an official track of that? And if not, I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could extract that.
I started playing destiny since it came out, and playing it until now, until the end, was worth it. This game gave me the best fireteam i could have asked for. Eyes up guardians.
Glad I was there to finish this game finally, this ending was so awesome. Finally defeating a long time war and the way everyone unite to fight against the witness, is something we will never forget.
I mean we finish the witness but the darkness is always there to fight it and its true that some of the witness main followers flew away trying to hold up and rebuild somewhere else.
For a minute I thought that our ghost was killed but in the end cade use all his light to save our ghost. Also this soundtrack is also so peacefull that makes me want to cry, because is the ending and everything we being doing since 2017, was worth it. ( For the ones we still playing the game ).
Know for the future, who knows if there is gona be a third game, they where rumors for the beginning about a third game, but like I said who knows what new enemy will bring this time.
What we can said at the end, is that we are the once that we make our own history in life, no one decides what is our destiny like the witness try to do.
Well it's either gonna be another DLC for D2 or a whole new game but we are leaving the solar system and going to new systems and galaxies
No matter how many times I watch this, it still makes me cry.

This the best DLC I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE.
I cant get over Ghost's "We did it" just before the mission ends. He literally pushed himself to his absolute limit which is saying a lot because hes been breaking apart this entire expansion anyway. He deserves to be the one to say that, and he just sounds so relieved and victorious in the way he said it. That little king ended a war spanning generations.

Alright, gotta give it to Bungie. That felt like a hell of a finale. The boss fight was next level, and I'm not gonna lie...the interaction between Cayde and the Guardian...had to find out who was cutting onions soon as he said "You tell them..." I knew what was coming.
Credit where credit is due. Great job. The rest of this DLC felt kinda meh..but this. This was spectacular and honestly without Nathon Fillon, just wouldn't have hit as hard. God he's a great actor.
This was alright. I think The Final Shape was a decent expansion considering what Bungie had to work with, but I do think it's true that the story went down a pretty boring path a long time ago and it really could have been more interesting overall. I liked Destiny so much more when we were fighting enemies that were part of a race that we've been fighting for the last decade, not some random ancient being that seemingly just showed up one day and still feels completely out of place years later. I think TTK remains by far the best expansion throughout the entire franchise, it felt like it carried more weight and while we didn't have any main character casualties back then the mystery surrounding the world created a much more threatening atmosphere. Something being predictable doesn't necessarily make it bad, but there comes a point where being able to easily guess the outcome of the story every time gets a little frustrating.
I'm glad Destiny is over now, this franchise deserves to be put to rest after so many years of being mishandled and poorly managed.
Be careful, saying something even slightly bad about Destiny gets the fanboys going.

If I remember correctly lore has stated that the Witness has a lot more disciples so I wonder if any of them will try to fill the power vacuum left behind, maybe they can be antagonists? Idk but it would be cool to see more disciples.

Come on man just let the franchise die now. It's been poorly handled and mismanaged for years yet we somehow got a decent ending. Let it end on a high, let the stockholm syndrome survivors be free.

It’s gonna be another forsaken plot: 7-8 of these lost disciples will appear and team up to cause mayhem and the guardians will have to stop them one by one.
@@SouthpawMace I'd imagine that it wouldn't be like this, Rhulk, Nezarec, Oryx, all of the Witness' Disciples had different ideas of what the Final Shape really is, so I think they'd argue and try to impose their idea of THEIR Final Shape, possibly causing more chaos.
I like to think when our ghost died he was actually looking for us in the after life. Hence why he says “guardian, There you are” when coming back to life.
Cayde is still alive, he gave his light so he could revive your ghost. He lives in every guardian.

Really liked when you used the banner emote just before going to the first damage phase - nice way to say "here we stand".
That moment when you realize cayde-6 told everyone that they're his favorite to pull everyone's leg one last time.
The soundtrack is so f*cking amazing. Through all the highs and lows of this game, one thing bungie always delivered on was the music.
The track of this final fight literally has elements of every "main theme" year by year incorporated into it, what an eargasm, my god.

I say this with every fiber of my being. Michael, thank you. There has never been a soundtrack that made me feel the way the last 10 years have. Halo was prime but destiny was a whole different animal.
Dude ppl hated on Mass effects ending but its just how this works. Sometimes u must set ending at beginning if not it gets conviluted and jumps the shark. Same with tv shows
Mass Effect's ending was bad. Publisher pushed for development resources to be invested in an unnecessary multiplayer component which wasn't planned initially.
It's only 'how it works' if you let it be.
Because mass effects ending genuinely sucked. There was no player choice like they claimed it was 3 color coated endings

Not really, what's coming next is:
After killing The Witness, there were paracausal objects that came out from the Traveler into the Solar System and beyond. From 9, 3 remained in Sol. One crashed in Nessus, where the Vex found it and are doing unknown stuff with it (Episode Echoes), a second one got lost it's track near the Reef, and The Fanatic will get it and form a new army of Darkness (Episode Revenant. Bungie confirmed that it would be based on vampires and all that stuff) and the third one crashed in the Dreadnought on Saturn, Xivu Arath is still out there, becoming stronger with each fight but still mortal since we cut her link with her throne world (Episode Heresy). And Bungie announced something called Project Frontiers, by the name we can assume that we're finally leaving Sol
Nice to see Destiny closing out with a bang.
