Apparently everybody likes the movie venom buck, and they wanted it for the comic book version, and everybody’s been customizing their movie venom to look like the comic book version so now Hasbro is giving us this
Yeah, that movie Venom buck is one of THE best bodies ML has ever produced. It's literally like the Marvel Select Venom if he had the best Legends articulation setup. Hell, it's got a better articulation setup than most other marvel legends when I think about it.
Got this just yesterday and definitely worth the two pack here. just love the movie buck for venom and knull is just terrific. very happy with this set and cannot imagine anything better. enjoy people and good day 👍
I think if you were to do a head and feet pack for the venom, I’d go for a Ryan Stegman styled head. His art works really well for the movie body because in the comics he draws the symbiote to have texture. Plus it would go really well with the knull since both were drawn primarily by him during that arc
I feel like this is incredibly overpriced, pretty good figures but I can't think of one being 40$. The windowless packaging is stupid, you can't see the figures inside so I saw primevsprime got a qc error where venom has no paint on his eye, also as you said plastic is recyclable too. Knull is a complete new figure and venom has new sculpts on the venom movie body, apart from that he has huge wings that are a huge amount of plastic, stop being a bitch because you’re broke
I preordered this, but I canceled and I’ll wait for the Black Friday sale. It’s a gorgeous set, but not worth $80 including taxes, and it definitely won’t be scarce, particularly after they released what will probably be a better-looking classic Venom in the Amazon 3-pack.
Personally I like this venom better, the head on the new one doesn’t do it for me. This is more along the lines of what I like with venom designs. But I get why people are canceling for the 3 pack. I ordered both, to complete life foundation and for the winged venom and knull.
i really want knull but don't care for venom so that price is killer, idc if they're big there still should be more accessories than this. i could find imports for that price. not knull specifically of course but man
Actually, this 2 pack doesn't look bad at all, Knull has all new sculpt, granted, could use some more paint , articulation is decent, Venom is a good repaint and the 2 face sculpts are well done, I think it might be worth tracking down
@@sigerlion8608 eh, some are worth it, I liked the recent Bane and Swamp Thing, but most of the time, not really. Mega figs seem to be their strong suit, and the Spawn line, really loved the commando Spawn
All the megafigs (many of which are around this size) cost $40 like the figures in this pack if you divided up the price. And they never get any accessories. Plus paint is notoriously absent on McFarlanes figures. Also a lot of the megafigs in particular have very poor articulation.
Knull doesn't look like knull he looks like morbius to me the eyes have been sculpted wrong and the head is a lil small for that big chunky body. Definitely a lazy job.
@sigerlion I think this is an overpriced pack, but it’s still not much better than what mcfarlane can do for $40, that’s my point. I have 4 megafigs, violator, killer croc, clayface and manbat. Violator is huge and top heavy but he falls over easily so he has to crouch making him about this size anyway. He’s probably the best megafig that has been released, anyways. Manbat and the others are much smaller, my clayface has very loose arm joints and looks small next to even Batman. Killer croc and man bat could have benefited from extra accessories, man bat should be able to spread his wings and he can barely stand, and clayface should have gotten extra morphing hands. Knull has as much paint as he needs, with multiple tones and even painted wraps around his wrists, as opposed to some average dc multiverse or mk11 figures like bloodsport or shao Kahn that are missing most of their paint. Accessories are always better too. Mcfarlane usually doesn’t afford much to accessories.
I would absolutely be interested in some toe-less comic feet for the Venom figure if they were reasonably priced. I also think a Mark Bagley style head would suit this body very well.
Packaging doesn't really bother me, I tend to buy online anyway. Would DEFINITELY buy some feet. I did the Tombstone lower leg swap on the movie figure and it's okay, but a real solution would be nice. I don't skip the intro, it's short enough and sounds good sped up.

Plastic is way harder to recycle than paper and cardboard but in my experience with QC with hasbro customer service they are pretty understanding so getting a replacement piece wouldn’t be that crazy but I know it’s annoying to have to go through all that
I rewatching this review many moons later & I cannot be happier with this set & equally as happy that Marvel learned from their mistakes & decided 2 ditch the abysmal windowless packing & returning back 2 the window packing we all know & love!! This review was great then & is just as great now!
If you make feet any idea of a cost, would they have a texture, need any tweaking etc? Also how hard would they be to get on? I'd be interested but depending on the other things. Also any idea how difficult it'd be to make pegs for the back to hide the holes well?
The intro is iconic to me, as far as your channel is concerned. It isn't long enough to be a bother and it's not short enough for it to not even matter.
Yes Anthony! If you have time new feet and even a Bagley head would be awesome! My favorite style of venom is the bagley style forsure but the head sculpt given is pretty good as you said. Oh and I love the intro I dont skip 💯. I also agree that the logo is too long on him i dont like how far the spider butt goes down in the front especially I was thinking of painting some black over and reshaping it a bit. Besides that its the cleanest symbiote logo I've seen from hasbro in a minute

I'd love Venom feet for this figure! I feel like if he had comic sock style, he could be a nearly perfect Venom figure. A Bagley head would be great, but feet are a must! Also, the windowless packaging sucks for some many reasons, and nope, I watch the whole reviews including the intro!
I do typically skip the intros, but I get why they are there from an aesthetic perspective. I really want them to make just a normal classic Venom on this body. It's like they gave it wings with those peg holes in the back so we would have to buy the figure again when they do. And if it was pinless this would make it the ultimate Venom figure across the board. All that being said, I hadn't thought about modding it with normal feet, but that is an amazing idea.

Only 5% of all plastic gets recycled. If that. Knull disappoints me, because while he is a decent figure and about that tall... he needs to look lanky and eldritch, not just a tall boy. Always watch the intro, all of the video is generally great! Not fussed about the packaging, I suspect plastic is harder/more costly to recycle than cardboard/paper, plus I get all my figures through the post, so don't have any use for a window. In fact, I'd be happy to have a an option for no packaging, just the figure and accessories in a bag, sent in a shipping box - if it saves me money and cuts down on stuff I end up binning/recycling then all good
I would really love if you made feet replacements for this Venom! I really love this 2-pack, but the toes on the feet drive me nuts. I’ve never liked Venom with toes, and the classic sock/booted feet are what he had in the King in Black storyline, so it makes so much more sense for this figure. I also saw a comment from someone that asked if you could also make a headsculpt that matches Ryan Stegmans artwork for this series, and I would also LOVE that. I would buy it in a heartbeat. I also would kill for you to make a Mark Bagley style headsculpt. I’ve wanted that kind of head for Venom figures for ages because it’s my favorite look for him. But no company has ever really done one. It also would be amazing to have considering we are getting that awesome Venom in the separation anxiety Amazon set, so having an actual Mark Bagley style head for that figure as well would make it most likely my absolute favorite Venom figure. I do skip the intro but I do that with pretty much any figure review. I just want to get to the point where the piece is being reviewed. Also a set of non-toed feet would be cool to have if you could get them to match the body.
Great review but one question why do you knock down McFarlane figures about proportions of the whole body but did not mention one time one these? Knull neck is super long not even proportion right...
I always watch the intro. As for the window-less packaging, I mostly couldn't care less since I never buy this stuff off the shelf anymore in favor of online, but I get why people buying these at Target or wherever would have a problem with not being able to see the product.
I rarely skip the intro, It just depends on the situation. Not interested in the feet or head deal because passing on this, just not a huge venom guy to begin but like window shopping.
I don't skip the intro. Standard superhero feet would be great for Venom. I really only want Knull, but I'll wait for sale. Looking at Knull, I think they'll repurpose the head for Dracula.
I never skip the intro. The paint is even better than the Mafex Venom. Highly over-priced, but cool looking figs. The after market could get insane on these down the line. Non window is truly silly. Why can't they use cellulose instead of plastic? It's not even sealed with a holo foil sticker so they can't be tampered with.
Putting the recycle aspect to one side the new packaging eliminates in box collecting and it looks cheap but prices are rising for me its always been about the display aspect in box but with these that value has been lost.
I’m happy that we got this pack but my only gripes are that i wished they could of had the dragon logos tail asymmetrical and straight down the middle and VENOMS AXE/SWORD COMBO FUSION FROM MJOLNIR/SurfersBoard hybrid weapon to combat KNULLS ALLBLACK NECROSWORD INSTEAD OF THE WINGS
I enjoy your intro. It works as a quick signature. I'm still reading King in Black and love the artwork and story thus far. The two pack is a bit overpriced. I'm not sure why Hasbro has made the last three Venom figures either exclusive or in packs: animated exclusive, Knull pack, Amazon 3-pack. Making one of the most popular characters cost more to obtain is profit/greed motivated. Making a deluxe release where it is just Venom with several accessories would be more customer friendly. New feet, tendrils or filler pegs for the back, and Stegman style heads that fix the articulation issue you described would be great! I love your critical reviews. Keep it up!
I would love custom feet for this venom. I hate when venom has toes. so having some custom boot feet like venom occasionally has would be amazing for me. Additionally, I like the video intros. The brief summary of the figure beforehand helps me bvecome more invested in the review and the verdict.
I don't skip the intro. I put Sugarman feet dyed black on my movie Venom, can't stand the toes. If you make some good feet for this body, you could demonstrate how to do proper toe articulation.
I'm not going to do toe articulation. it would be prohibitively expensive. an add-on piece like this would need to be as cheap as possible to be worth doing. need to sell to as many people as possible.
@@AnthonysCustoms makes sense. A foot+head pack would be interesting. Any way to check if the neck ball on this body is a match for the animated body (same as the Life Foundation 3 pack). I speculate lots of Venom fans are ordering both sets so if the Bagley head doesn't match this body, it could be used on the 3 pack body and justify the accessory pack purchase to upgrade 2 Venoms.
Absolutely concur with everyone else. Comic accurate feet would be amazing to have! For me right now this is my definitive comic Venom. I’m not even upset about missing out on the Mafex Venom now with this guy. The movie feet don’t necessarily kill it for me but that’s my only little nitpick with this figure. I would really love to get an unmasked Eddie head with a beard to match this comic arc too.
I know a few have commented on his feet, especially the movie version. The thing is, this venom is based off of art of Ryan Stegman. If you look at his art, he draws venom with the toes.
And I absolutely hate the fact how Hasbro is not releasing a normal package of just Venom. Instead we have to buy these 2 or 3 packs that include Venom. I know profit is good but god almighty, what a scummy attitude considering the additional fact that their quality isn't even on par with their pricing. It would be pretty funny if it was found out that releasing single releases of more wanted figures gives them more profit than actually shoving the more wanted figures into 2 or 3 packs of wasted plastic.
I'd be down for a head and feet option. Maybe make a closed mouth head that just looks better in general. Don't like how his eyes look on the closed mouth, but I do generally prefer a closed mouth Venom figure, and so far no company seems to know how to make a closed mouth Venom (or open mouth without the tongue) except for the movie Venom. Closed mouth, but with some red coming through on the sides.
I hate the no windows. I called thee lady over and explained while I opened Ironspider to make sure he was in there with no issue. She said a lot of people are doing that. Good review
I don't live in the U.S. Most of the figures I get come from online shopping, so I don't really get to choose the figure with better paint apps and stuff. Still, I don't like the windowless packaging, just doesn't sound like a good idea at all. Just saying that for some instances, like mine, in the end it won't really change the chances I have to see a product before buying it.

I used to skip Until I realized it was only a few seconds long. One of my favorite parts is how you have him on the spinning stand. When I skip it I miss most of that part. That’s why I don’t anymore

In regards to the feet issue: I was able to heat up the old absorbing man venom’s feet and pop them on this guy. The monster venom wave version would work too. It fits and sizes well. The only issue is that the foot extends a tad farther from the back of the leg.
A lot of plastic isn't recyclable. The recycling logo on plastics was an industry scam to mislead consumers. And most plastics that are recyclable don't get recycled because it costs less to use new plastic. Five to ten percent gets recycled in North America. Respect to Hasbro for trying and hopefully learning how to get back to using more renewable packaging like toy companies did pre-60s. I don't recall anyone ever complaining about Transformers Masterpiece or Titans not coming in windowed boxes.
By intro what do you mean? The music and logo, or the turntable shot? I always watch the first part with the music and title, but I skip the turntable because I want to guess whether a figure will be good or not.
The plastic windowless packages are gonna be a problem for swappers. People can just buy the thing and swap it out for something completely else and You wouldn’y even know only til after you buy it. Also wouldn’t know if the figure has a horrible paint job So I can see it having a bunch of issues
I’m glad hasbro ditched plastic packaging. It’s a myth that plastic is recyclable. Almost all plastic packaging ends up in the earth or ocean. No company or gov wants to pay to recycle it or they can’t. Ya make the feet!
Being honest, I love your intro, sometimes I skip it and go straight to the video because I see the intro every time but most of the time I let it play.
I think cardboard + plastic packaging is generally not desired and probably screws up the post-sort process? So maybe if the windows were more easily removable before we bin the box it would go back to being earth-friendly. I do miss the windows. When they do the plasticless/open window, they recognize people will steal things, so they leave them for the cheaper figs... better than nothing, but all the figures that are $$$$ end up in these completely cardboard tombs.

This Venom looks really cool, Knull too, but honestly for the price this pack is selling in my country I'll rather buy a bootleg or loose Venom figure and paint it myself.

The intro is the best in the business and I would rather have sock feet for the monster Venom.
I do typically skip the intros, but I get why they are there from an aesthetic perspective.
I really want them to make just a normal classic Venom on this body. It's like they gave it wings with those peg holes in the back so we would have to buy the figure again when they do. And if it was pinless this would make it the ultimate Venom figure across the board. All that being said, I hadn't thought about modding it with normal feet, but that is an amazing idea.

Great figures, but overpriced. I hate the windowless package. I like to see what I buy. I'm glad I open everything, it must suck even more for in-box collectors. Defeats the purpose of keeping them in the box when you can't even see them.
Only 5% of all plastic gets recycled. If that.
Knull disappoints me, because while he is a decent figure and about that tall... he needs to look lanky and eldritch, not just a tall boy.

Not fussed about the packaging, I suspect plastic is harder/more costly to recycle than cardboard/paper, plus I get all my figures through the post, so don't have any use for a window. In fact, I'd be happy to have a an option for no packaging, just the figure and accessories in a bag, sent in a shipping box - if it saves me money and cuts down on stuff I end up binning/recycling then all good
I would really love if you made feet replacements for this Venom! I really love this 2-pack, but the toes on the feet drive me nuts. I’ve never liked Venom with toes, and the classic sock/booted feet are what he had in the King in Black storyline, so it makes so much more sense for this figure.
I also saw a comment from someone that asked if you could also make a headsculpt that matches Ryan Stegmans artwork for this series, and I would also LOVE that. I would buy it in a heartbeat.
I also would kill for you to make a Mark Bagley style headsculpt. I’ve wanted that kind of head for Venom figures for ages because it’s my favorite look for him. But no company has ever really done one. It also would be amazing to have considering we are getting that awesome Venom in the separation anxiety Amazon set, so having an actual Mark Bagley style head for that figure as well would make it most likely my absolute favorite Venom figure.

I do skip the intro but I do that with pretty much any figure review. I just want to get to the point where the piece is being reviewed. Also a set of non-toed feet would be cool to have if you could get them to match the body.

Great review but one question why do you knock down McFarlane figures about proportions of the whole body but did not mention one time one these? Knull neck is super long not even proportion right...
I always watch the intro. As for the window-less packaging, I mostly couldn't care less since I never buy this stuff off the shelf anymore in favor of online, but I get why people buying these at Target or wherever would have a problem with not being able to see the product.
I rarely skip the intro, It just depends on the situation. Not interested in the feet or head deal because passing on this, just not a huge venom guy to begin but like window shopping.

Non window is truly silly. Why can't they use cellulose instead of plastic? It's not even sealed with a holo foil sticker so they can't be tampered with.

Putting the recycle aspect to one side the new packaging eliminates in box collecting and it looks cheap but prices are rising for me its always been about the display aspect in box but with these that value has been lost.
This is one of the few Marvel Legends I've bought and would totally love new feet for this. I don't skip your intro, but I might skip the outro
I’m happy that we got this pack but my only gripes are that i wished they could of had the dragon logos tail asymmetrical and straight down the middle and VENOMS AXE/SWORD COMBO FUSION FROM MJOLNIR/SurfersBoard hybrid weapon to combat KNULLS ALLBLACK NECROSWORD INSTEAD OF THE WINGS

I enjoy your intro. It works as a quick signature. I'm still reading King in Black and love the artwork and story thus far. The two pack is a bit overpriced. I'm not sure why Hasbro has made the last three Venom figures either exclusive or in packs: animated exclusive, Knull pack, Amazon 3-pack. Making one of the most popular characters cost more to obtain is profit/greed motivated. Making a deluxe release where it is just Venom with several accessories would be more customer friendly.
New feet, tendrils or filler pegs for the back, and Stegman style heads that fix the articulation issue you described would be great!

I would love custom feet for this venom. I hate when venom has toes. so having some custom boot feet like venom occasionally has would be amazing for me. Additionally, I like the video intros. The brief summary of the figure beforehand helps me bvecome more invested in the review and the verdict.
No window is a horrible idea. You can end up buying it only for the figure to have a really bad QC issue like bad paint/printing.
I don't skip the intro. I put Sugarman feet dyed black on my movie Venom, can't stand the toes. If you make some good feet for this body, you could demonstrate how to do proper toe articulation.
I'm not going to do toe articulation. it would be prohibitively expensive. an add-on piece like this would need to be as cheap as possible to be worth doing. need to sell to as many people as possible.
@@AnthonysCustoms makes sense. A foot+head pack would be interesting. Any way to check if the neck ball on this body is a match for the animated body (same as the Life Foundation 3 pack). I speculate lots of Venom fans are ordering both sets so if the Bagley head doesn't match this body, it could be used on the 3 pack body and justify the accessory pack purchase to upgrade 2 Venoms.

Absolutely concur with everyone else. Comic accurate feet would be amazing to have! For me right now this is my definitive comic Venom. I’m not even upset about missing out on the Mafex Venom now with this guy. The movie feet don’t necessarily kill it for me but that’s my only little nitpick with this figure. I would really love to get an unmasked Eddie head with a beard to match this comic arc too.
I know a few have commented on his feet, especially the movie version. The thing is, this venom is based off of art of Ryan Stegman. If you look at his art, he draws venom with the toes.
And I absolutely hate the fact how Hasbro is not releasing a normal package of just Venom. Instead we have to buy these 2 or 3 packs that include Venom. I know profit is good but god almighty, what a scummy attitude considering the additional fact that their quality isn't even on par with their pricing. It would be pretty funny if it was found out that releasing single releases of more wanted figures gives them more profit than actually shoving the more wanted figures into 2 or 3 packs of wasted plastic.

I'd be down for a head and feet option. Maybe make a closed mouth head that just looks better in general. Don't like how his eyes look on the closed mouth, but I do generally prefer a closed mouth Venom figure, and so far no company seems to know how to make a closed mouth Venom (or open mouth without the tongue) except for the movie Venom.

I don't live in the U.S. Most of the figures I get come from online shopping, so I don't really get to choose the figure with better paint apps and stuff. Still, I don't like the windowless packaging, just doesn't sound like a good idea at all. Just saying that for some instances, like mine, in the end it won't really change the chances I have to see a product before buying it.
Oh and I skip the intro sometimes.

Until I realized it was only a few seconds long. One of my favorite parts is how you have him on the spinning stand. When I skip it I miss most of that part. That’s why I don’t anymore

In regards to the feet issue: I was able to heat up the old absorbing man venom’s feet and pop them on this guy. The monster venom wave version would work too. It fits and sizes well. The only issue is that the foot extends a tad farther from the back of the leg.
A lot of plastic isn't recyclable. The recycling logo on plastics was an industry scam to mislead consumers. And most plastics that are recyclable don't get recycled because it costs less to use new plastic. Five to ten percent gets recycled in North America.
Respect to Hasbro for trying and hopefully learning how to get back to using more renewable packaging like toy companies did pre-60s. I don't recall anyone ever complaining about Transformers Masterpiece or Titans not coming in windowed boxes.

The plastic windowless packages are gonna be a problem for swappers. People can just buy the thing and swap it out for something completely else and You wouldn’y even know only til after you buy it. Also wouldn’t know if the figure has a horrible paint job So I can see it having a bunch of issues
I skip the intro during the week. When I'm watching your videos on the weekend, on my days off, I let it play all the way.

I’m glad hasbro ditched plastic packaging. It’s a myth that plastic is recyclable. Almost all plastic packaging ends up in the earth or ocean. No company or gov wants to pay to recycle it or they can’t.

Being honest, I love your intro, sometimes I skip it and go straight to the video because I see the intro every time but most of the time I let it play.

I think cardboard + plastic packaging is generally not desired and probably screws up the post-sort process? So maybe if the windows were more easily removable before we bin the box it would go back to being earth-friendly. I do miss the windows. When they do the plasticless/open window, they recognize people will steal things, so they leave them for the cheaper figs... better than nothing, but all the figures that are $$$$ end up in these completely cardboard tombs.

This Venom looks really cool, Knull too, but honestly for the price this pack is selling in my country I'll rather buy a bootleg or loose Venom figure and paint it myself.
