Installing RSG Rock Sliders on my LUNAR ROCK Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro

- I’m this video I walk you through the install of my RSG rock sliders on my lunar rock 2021 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro. I show the simple dismount process for the stock running boards before installing these sliders. Pretty straight forward… takes about an hour and a half if you’re doing it by yourself. But it could take less time if you have a friend helping.

I did not know that the sliders provide protection from door dings, worth considering even if someone is only do ‘mall crawling’ with their 4Runner. Looks good and thanks for sharing. 👍🏻
I moved way to the right, drving down a dirt road to give a oncoming vehicle more room, ran over one of those metal, pound in the ground fence posts, it flipped up, and put a mother dent in my front pass side door. Scared the hell out of me with the massive BANG it made. Had i had these (i just ordered from RSG on monday this week) it for sure would have kicked up, and smacked the slider, and more than likely saved my door panel. I was pissed. But, now, ill have that much wanted protection, even from other doors slamming into me.

I’m a Toyota fanboy but man that Ford Bronco is super appealing, the fact that they are built to order is beyond cool.
Definitely like the look better than the running boards they replaced.

I was in debate between the HREW vs DOM. I won't be rock crawling or anything crazy but I did inquire with RSG, they recommended me the HREW version. They're still very durable and solid for what I'll be doing. Great customer service as well.
Great installation
You should upgrade your tail lights to have an OEM-look but have black accents instead of chrome. I’ve seen these before and i think they would like good on your 4Runner

Hey Untamed, One thing I have seen and not on this video did you remove the rubber boots or whatever you call them on the frame. They pop out so the slider will mount over them. But then they don’t sit flush? Did you remove them? Looking to put these on my solar octane 4runner. Thanks.

Definitely look apart from the factory running boards. Also, the tint makes the vehicle so much nicer. What are the tint specs?
I’ll upload a video specifically to show the tint, was waiting for the bubbles to subside. It’s 20% sides and 5% rear glass.

I installed the same RSG sliders on my 2021 Kunar Rock 4Runner last week. I did not need to drill....all holes lined up.
Yep! The RSG sliders are awesome! No additional drilling needed.

Any thoughts what they would look like on a 4th Gen 4Runner? Look good on the 5th Gen’s boxier body style.
I think they’d look equally awesome. I’m sure you can find some photos out there of 4th gens rocking them.

Hey, I was looking at the Shrockworks, but they require 1 drill hole and "stick nuts" whatever they are. I am hesitant of drilling because I live in Boston and we salt the roads. Did you have to drill at all?

I got the Shrockworks sliders and they are amazing! Definitely worth considering.

I talked to you about the install on your video "off-road driving impressions" I called Shrockworks and asked them for the EXACT ONES CODY MACDONALD has. I also purchased the Canvasback cargo liner and TRD grille badge. Holding off on the BAJA designs until I get the C4 LOPRO. HAHA small world.

When i try to buy online there is no option of “kickout”
I’m waiting for delivery of my 4runner TRD Pro from a dealer In Nebraska. It came with what I believe is a port installed option: R5 Trail Rail. These appear to be rock sliders of some sort. Anyone know if they are attached properly to the frame? The other option was R4 Predator Tube Steps which I don’t prefer because of the lost ground clearance. Thanks guys.

How long did you wait for your 4Runner? I placed a deposit on a Lunar Rock on June 8th. They told me 4-6 months.
@@msj7973 less than 2 months. ‘promised” since it’s not here yet. But as untamed suggested I called dealers and asked if they had any already inbound that were not yet spoken for and were at MSRP and this one had been ordered by the dealership many months before my call. It was still unspoken for.

Yes I replaced my predator step bars with these rock sliders. I think they are well built, much heavier than the predator step bars. And yes they bolt to the frame like these do with no drilling. I like them they give it a clean look but do not stick out as much as these he put on. So you don't get a big foot step but....for what I paid well worth it. I have had a lot of compliments on them, most folks don't know Toyota makes such.
