And for different reasons, there was some debate that sparked, one disagreeing due to the whole fate aspect of cutie marks, one disagreed because of Lauren Faust's confirmation about how Celestia released Nightmare Moon in the pilot (Which, in itself, was because she found a trusted protege in Twilight, and without Twilight earning that mark in a way that connects her to the element bearers, would be a fruitless effort. At least, fruitless for her to put Twilight through, without any reason to believe that she could handle herself, without those friends/element bearers to support her.), and one actually agreed with me and came up with alternate explanations for why the Mane Six could have gotten their marks without the Rainboom.

Annoyed that she couldn't defeat this dumb rock, she tries to leave, only to realize that, a. she didn't really know how to get home from there, and b. if she had a destiny in this field, she had to find it a different way. That's when she would try walking the other way, down to the field itself, where her magic would begin to act up differently. That's how she begins to detect gems unconsciously, until she begins to use it consciously in her adulthood, by finding gems in the ground.

So basically you get your marks when you REALIZE and ACKNOWLEDGE that you're doing what you're meant to be doing. Cuz the crusaders helped plenty of ponies get their marks, it wasn't until they realized that HELPING ponies get their marks was what they were meant to do that they actually GOT their marks. I find that to be a really cute detail, i think it really showcases their character growth

I was always disappointed by the CMC’s cutie marks just being essentially copy-pasted on each of them. I absolutely love those little fillies and they’ll always hold a special place in my heart!
It is CRIMINAL the Rainbow isn't the main character of MLP:FiM. The fact that her sonic rainboom brought them all together in the first place, plus the fact that her being very full of herself was a good setup for her not seeing the appeal in friends until she meets and befriends the Mane 6, shows you just how much potential she had as the focal protagonist instead of them just using Twilight with her origin story for not having friends was because "she was too bookish and focused on excelling in magic to make friends." No disrespect to her as a character, obviously, I just think interest in a hobby/dream is a pretty weak excuse not to make friends, and seems like a little less challenging hurdle to get over on the road to friendship than troublesome personality trait. Rainbow wouldn't even have to CHANGE who she is as a pony to make friends; she can still be the tomboyish, self-confident badass we all know and love, but with an interesting take on her character in the spotlight. (Plus I'd want to see how she maneuvers around struggling with newfound magic upon becoming an alicorn)

Ahhhhh I miss the days where cartoons were the main way of passing time for children instead of watching random youtube videos aimlessly, at least we had to wait til a certain hour to watch our favorite shows so television wouldn't hold us captive forever, but now my brother is growing up to be a braindead stupid lazy little shit, it drives me crazy. Also I feel like TV shows for children nowadays take kids for stupid, unable-to-think beings and don't have anything serious going on, they just produce episodes aimlessly. Old Ben10, Generator Rex, Kim Possible, or at least HTTYD Riders of Berk were nice series. I mean I don't like how kids spend all their time playing with phones/tablets now but there's nothing to watch on TV either..

So basically you get your marks when you REALIZE and ACKNOWLEDGE that you're doing what you're meant to be doing. Cuz the crusaders helped plenty of ponies get their marks, it wasn't until they realized that HELPING ponies get their marks was what they were meant to do that they actually GOT their marks. I find that to be a really cute detail, i think it really showcases their character growth

It is CRIMINAL the Rainbow isn't the main character of MLP:FiM. The fact that her sonic rainboom brought them all together in the first place, plus the fact that her being very full of herself was a good setup for her not seeing the appeal in friends until she meets and befriends the Mane 6, shows you just how much potential she had as the focal protagonist instead of them just using Twilight with her origin story for not having friends was because "she was too bookish and focused on excelling in magic to make friends."
No disrespect to her as a character, obviously, I just think interest in a hobby/dream is a pretty weak excuse not to make friends, and seems like a little less challenging hurdle to get over on the road to friendship than troublesome personality trait. Rainbow wouldn't even have to CHANGE who she is as a pony to make friends; she can still be the tomboyish, self-confident badass we all know and love, but with an interesting take on her character in the spotlight. (Plus I'd want to see how she maneuvers around struggling with newfound magic upon becoming an alicorn)
