    Hello sir, did you make the product ID field disabled so that the first option is activated directly on the product code field and the code is registered automatically? Please reply. Thank you.

    You have Herbert Schildt! I learned C from his Using Turbo C book (1987) and Advanced Turbo C (1988). One of my favorite tech authors of all time! Can't believe how long ago it was. Nothing ever seemed more modern than Borland Turbo C.

    My wired barcode scanner I first used has a PS/2 bridge and of course uses no drivers. It is still working on my shop computer. I have been thinking of making a video of how I set up my My Sql database with Php. Your video style is so clear and intuitave compared to almost any other person here, especially the foreigners!

      Haha. Thanks. Yeah, there are a lot of good videos on TH-cam, but if you can't understand the presenter, they're very difficult to watch. I get some people asking me to slow down my speaking because they don't speak English as a native language, to which I have to reply, "I'm sorry." I'm not going to change my presentation style for folks to don't speak English well. Lots of tutorials on learning English too. Start with those. :)

      With most scanners that I've used, that's an option you can set in the scanner software

      In the barcode manual they likely provided there is a barcode you scan to set that setting.

    When we add an item (product) to the inventory it will be two steps proccess
    1. generate the bar code for that product, print it and put it on the product
    2. scan and add it to the inventory.

    I tried creating this myself. Yet whenever I search it up, the form shows up but none of the data will. I copied and pasted my inventory table that has all the data and fields. I named it Lookup and pasted the fields I wanted into the form I created. The forms record source is using the lookup table. I added a regular text box and named the unbound box "Lookup". I then placed a button and did the following: Form Operations, Open Form, Selected my newly made form, specific data. I matched "Lookup" with "Item ID" and then did the rest. I made up one record to try all this and the unique number I put into the search box is the same number I have in the Item ID. But all the fields are empty after I search. Please help me.

    Here's what I need help with. I sell music on ebay & discogs. I have mountains of music and want to create an inventory management system. To make this more efficient, I want to be able to scan a upc/barcode with a handheld digital barcode scanner (i don't want to use my phone), have that number sent to a spreadsheet cell on my computer, and somehow have an external database (like discogs who have an open API and have monthly data dumps) linked/be my database to pull product details from. Does this make sense? I want to scan, have that scan pull available data into the spreadsheet, along with the barcode, and so forth, so I don't have to manually enter each barcode and product information into each cell. I want a high efficient way to capture it all while i simultaneously shelve each scanned item - its almost like i'm starting my own library. Are you able to help at all with this?

    Nice till you find out the same product can have different barcodes and different products have the same barcodes

    • @599CD
      @599CD  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The same product having different barcodes is definitely a possibility. If that's the case you can either add the product twice, or use a 2nd table with a 1-to-many relationship to store the various barcode numbers. Two products having the same barcode, with a universal numbering system like UPC or ISBN, I've never come across that. I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm sure there are mess-ups all the time. In that case I guess you'd have to prompt the user and say "yo, that code is already assigned."

    • @bigneiltoo
      @bigneiltoo ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, sadly the old Playboys don't have unique barcodes. If you scan March 2000 it will give you some other month. I verified that multiple mags use the same barcode. Also, some products like cigars are blacklisted.
