I currently tly have a 5 ton package heat pump with a ZP16 compressor that is 1.25 ton. I added txvs on both coils. Slowed the ecm fan down to 800 cfm. Works perfect.
Just purge your manifold after each job. No need to have 3-4 sets of gauges. One set works fine if you’re not lazy. Taking the extra 5 mins saves you $200 per manifold
things to think about. oil return with low refrigerant flow. are you going to have enough head pressure. what size txv If it's to big it won't throttle down far enough. if it's to small it will starve it. I'm thinking 2 ton might be better. the reversing valve won't switch without head pressure. look at surplus city liquidators for parts or systems. they are out if Indiana. my gut feeling is that to big an imbalance it wont work right.
Nice gauge and manifold set. I'm not a fan of heat pumps, i was never convinced they were worth it. At least from what i have seen they rely on electric strips to meet the demand way too often.
In SC they work real well. Even on the 30F and lowers days. The heat strips will come on on the real cold days for a few mins to make up for what your asking it to do. So if you come home to a cold house. The heat strips will come on to worm the house to the temp you asked for. The trick is do not move the T stat all over. Set it and forget it. As for the AC well in the summer it's just about a must.. Heheh

very cool
i just wanted to hear about the 4 valve yellow jacket set ....not everything but..

are you certified?
Cut my electric bill in half in the winter with 2 heat pumps vs heat strips
Do you think this set wold be OK for all types of freon? Would I require different fittings or adapters?
No you need gauges for every type of oil
You can flush your gauges out with nitrogen.
Then you bleed your lines with a ball valve on the on the end and you purge all the air out with the new refrigerant your using.
Hardly a word about the gauges.
yep
if you read on yellow jackets website it says not to use low loss fittings with r410a
the cost?
About 180 to 210 I think Been a bit since i picked them up.
