Really don't get why people hate the mini-etune so much. For guys who can't afford to many guitars and want to use different tunings it's a real time saver, my only question is the intonation
It does not have a solid spruce top! On the epiphone website it says it's a select spruce top while the other models that are more expensive have solid spruce top.
Usually I prefer Gibson over Epiphone, but I'm considering getting one of these just for the tune-o-matic stuff :D Cause we play a lot of different tunings during one gig. From Standard, over open G or open E, drop C# etc.
Idk if I'm really a fan of Min E-Tune on the head stock. I get the pros of it (it seems super useful), but I just don't think it's all that necessary, plus I would think it would make the guitar balance wrong (possibly even changing it's tone). Anyone care to give their take on it?
I tried an SG with the tuner thingy and I might be a bit picky with my tuning, but it just didn't tune the guitar properly. That would be my biggest concern!
+karthik unnikrishnan It's just fine tuning the other strings, the low E turns the most turns. By best guess is there probably is a margin of error and also the strings are fairly new so every time you tune it will move all the strings just a touch, even if you just tuned it.

I tested out a Gibson Futura with the E-Tune and honestly... it's not that good. It never seemed to "hit" the note very quick, if at all. Always needed manual tweaking and the intonation was horrible above the 7th fret when 1 step or more down. This guitar is very nice, but the $1200 Futura I tried felt like a $400 Epiphone. Oh well...
Don't ya just hate when someone doing a review fails to address something like an obvious fret buzz. Instead he plays over aggressively in an attempt to mask it. For Shame on you Paul. Give us a real review. I would venture to say this guy has never given a bad review a day in his life.
TheTyler701 The are easily replaceable however. You just need to buy separate tuners and winders for the guitar. That being Said, the e-tuners are fantastic for new guitar players just starting out ( and for all their listeners ). Nothing is more irritating than someone playing on an out of tune instrument.

My friend buy it last month and immediatly refund it for a fretbuzz in the e String on F note, he eventually upgrade it to the Pro-1 Ultra, a better build quality one

'cause as far as i can tell, when paul hit the standard tuning presets, after the intro demo, the guitar was ALL OUT OF FUCKIN' TUNE. Goddammit. All of these years and you do EVERY TIME the same thing : Missing the focal point and not telling the pro and cons of the things that you demo.
They need a second gen that puts a small screen instead of color based banks, plus some less ugly tuners. I'd rather just have metal ones than that ugly plastic.

i dont like the stock strings on the acoustic i changed them out the day i got it sounds much better with some ernie balls
String gauge on the acoustic is too light, high E was buzzy and sounded like crap.

It sounds better in real life trust me. Go to a music store and try it out ;)
