Good to explore right? This album is probably their best since Countdown and absolutely smokes. In fact I would put this alongside Rust in Peace and Peace Sells as my third favourite Megadeth thrash album, keeping Countdown as number 4 although it is more of a commercial 'hard rock' record (but it still has Marty Friedman solos and a couple of killer tracks).
@@tomowenpianochannel youthanasia is much more commercial and " hard rock " than Countdown ( though to be fair the process is beginning to appear with countdown ) however, I would prefer the term soft metal ( personally ) than hard rock though with youthanasia as I said, I do know where you are coming from.
Amazing, how perceptions differ, I always thought countdown was a little dry or something, but this is perfect balance for me, and that fucking bass is awesome!

Pretty ridiculous technician, a little too good if anything. Marty and Chris Poland were more spontaneous genius players, both real virtuosi, and with a huge amount of feel and personality. Broderick's precision and speed however are uncanny.

Cryptic writing may not be a Thrash album but it still holds the top 4 spot as best megadeth albums. It's consistent good. Endgame was a return that megadeth needed to bring back great album with few weak songs

Yeah agree! how did I miss this album for so long... so many times you hear that a band has a new album out, a 'return to form', and... it isn't (it's slower, shitter and boring). This one is an absolute belter, all the speed and aggression of Rust in Peace, great production values, amazing soloing and riffing from Dave, Chris Broderick is possibly at Marty Friedman's technical level, the bass and drums are as good as Ellefson and Menza... so now you can say there are 3 killer Megadeth albums (Peace Sells, Rust and Endgame) plus the 3 good ones (Killing is my Business, So Far So Good, and Countdown).

This album was heavily overlooked because of the big 4 Sofia 2010 and rust in peace 20th anniversary. Such a HARD HITTING ALBUM. Guitar tones are so killer and it’s thrash at it’s finest. I genuinely think this is their 2nd best album after Rust. Put aside the nostalgia from the other albums and judge each of them fairly and endgame ends up being better than all of their work other than rust.
@@xtremeunderratedmusic I really like it a lot. I don't think its some of their greatest work but its a very solid album. I just think endgame has no weak spots and is constant hard hitting guitar and thrash vocals at its best. Broderick and Mustaine did a flawless job on this record.
Agree that this is the most heavy and thrashy overall since Rust. But what about Peace Sells? tracks like Black Friday? This is a killer album though and think Peace Sells, Rust in Peace and Endgame are the best of Megadeth.

This album is the last great album by Megadeth and their best album in the 21 century, Slayer was the best thrash metal band of all time and they disbanded, Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeth are dying, i said that we are lucky to have Testament, i saw them live the last time at Sweden Rock Festival 2023, they still delivering the goods, both in the studio albums and live shows, the big four is a big joke, thanks for sharing.

@@xtremeunderratedmusic Metallica finished their great run with the black album, since then they released embarrassing albums, those albums soled well like St. Anger but it was also voted as one of the worst metal albums of all times, in my humble opinion it is the worst metal album of all times, Death Magnetic was a good album, 72 seasons is hardly a speed metal album in the style of eighties speed metal, so it's unremarkable, Megadeth last album is okay but far from exciting, Dark Angel is a overrated thrash metal band, their last album came out in...1991, i saw them live at Sweden Rock Festival in 2014, there was nothing exceptional about their show, i mentioned before Testament, well, there is also Annihilator that i saw live the last time in 2019, they are still good, take it easy!

sometimes i forget how good of an album endgame really was. this is one of the best metal records ever made period. maybe THE best modern day one.
Probably in my top 10. Kinda depends what year starts “modern” metal.

this album is on the fourth of my list of deth albums after Peace Sells.., Rust In Peace, and Countdown To Extinction.
This album if you don't know the year release you thnikhnis between rust in oeace and countdown to extinction...around 1991.

Me acuerdo cuando salió este disco, recién arrancaba a escuchar Megadeth, tuve suerte de que es un discazo y la fui a ver un par de años después. Ya lo que salió después no estuvo a la altura pero no importa, los clásicos se llevan en el corazón!
Igualmente! Recuerdo compre este disco cuando salió y estaba en el primero del polimodal y además de ser la mitad de barato del de metállica nunca tuvo propaganda ni nada! Y recuerdo llegar y ponerlo a todo volumen con tanta calidad fue el mejor regalo que me di en la vida! Luego dos años después sale 13 y el big4 además del aniversario del rúst in peace y me compre youthanasia y peace sells! Lástima lo que pasó con Chris brodericl ! Yo considero super collider fue muy bien álbum! Sólo que se dio en un contexto donde Judas priest y testament sacaron dos obras maestras y el super collider era muy sound garden

This album was heavily overlooked because of the big 4 Sofia 2010 and rust in peace 20th anniversary. Such a HARD HITTING ALBUM. Guitar tones are so killer and it’s thrash at it’s finest. I genuinely think this is their 2nd best album after Rust. Put aside the nostalgia from the other albums and judge each of them fairly and endgame ends up being better than all of their work other than rust.
What about the Sick the dying and the dead?
@@xtremeunderratedmusic I really like it a lot. I don't think its some of their greatest work but its a very solid album. I just think endgame has no weak spots and is constant hard hitting guitar and thrash vocals at its best. Broderick and Mustaine did a flawless job on this record.
Agree that this is the most heavy and thrashy overall since Rust. But what about Peace Sells? tracks like Black Friday? This is a killer album though and think Peace Sells, Rust in Peace and Endgame are the best of Megadeth.

This album is the last great album by Megadeth and their best album in the 21 century, Slayer was the best thrash metal band of all time and they disbanded, Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeth are dying, i said that we are lucky to have Testament, i saw them live the last time at Sweden Rock Festival 2023, they still delivering the goods, both in the studio albums and live shows, the big four is a big joke, thanks for sharing.
What? Metallica and Megadeth are dying? Have you heard The sick, the dying...and the dead? Or 72 seasons? I think they are both great albums...also the comeback of dark angel this year will fill the gap of Slayers retirement...
@@xtremeunderratedmusic Metallica finished their great run with the black album, since then they released embarrassing albums, those albums soled well like St. Anger but it was also voted as one of the worst metal albums of all times, in my humble opinion it is the worst metal album of all times, Death Magnetic was a good album, 72 seasons is hardly a speed metal album in the style of eighties speed metal, so it's unremarkable, Megadeth last album is okay but far from exciting, Dark Angel is a overrated thrash metal band, their last album came out in...1991, i saw them live at Sweden Rock Festival in 2014, there was nothing exceptional about their show, i mentioned before Testament, well, there is also Annihilator that i saw live the last time in 2019, they are still good, take it easy!

Tha's the way of metal community anyway.... for me Dark Angel Darkness Descends is the heaviest and raw album ever made and not reign blood. At the other hand i believe that the last metallica album icould be the next release after Black album. Megadeth dystopia and the sick,the dying ...and the dead had songs that could include afyter 10 years a great best of colletion....for me Megadeth blow me away...songs like nightstalkers, The sick the dying ...and the dead, Dogs of Chernobyl, We'll be back, Life in Hell, Dystopia, The threat is real, Fatal illusion, Conquer or die, Post american world are amazing and fresh to my ears...
