I dislike that the added content redeemed all the bad guys and made them good for the most tangential reasons. The evil queen who was crying out for the entire city to be burned down being converted by seeing a memento is laughably bad.
Love this game! This is the closest I believe to capturing the magic of the chrono series. Time travel and parallel stories that have a flowing narrative that may stumble at times but get most of it right. Great video!
This game turned out to be one of my favorites RPGs in the past decade, great job doing this video! No conocía mucho sobre este juego hasta que lo vi en uno de tus videos, y wooooow! Fabuloso
Never heard of this game until about the last week of the eshop being open. I can’t stop researching about it now and waiting on my copy in the mail. Super excited to play this for the first time.
although i didn't finished the game yet, it's still an enjoyable experience to play it especially the perfect chronology. it's a masterpiece in it's own right.
One of my top 5 Rpgs. Completely underrated . After that , i played for my first time Chrono Trigger and sorry Chrono Fans but Radiant Historia has not only better time travel mechanism but also its overall the better game without nostalgia. I love the tactical combat system.
i didn't play chrono trigger until many years after it came out and i thought it was amazing. with no nostalgia involved i think it holds up better than any snes rpg and better than most ps1 rpgs. the visual style, combat system, story and characters are all amazing. radiant historia is amazing as well but they're so different it's difficult to compare them.
The DS version had a better art style. No idea why they felt the need to change it. But then again this is the same developer that massively downgraded the art in Strange Journey Redux.
I kinda hate that perfect chronology feels like it has been rebalanced so that you would need the DLC to grind. I might revisit it but only play the original DS one. Also the princess looks to anime on perfect chronology while the old design looks mature and fitting to the dark story.
yah i own the original Ds one. never sold it off. Kind of got turned off by the perfect chronology designs. Chronology might have voice acting and some art pieces to show off the cut scenes better , but it wasn't enough to sell me on it. The og story had the perfect ending, the og designs made me feel a short of attachment with the world and characters.
Where did you get that intro? I've never seen it in game. I put off this game until this year. I played every major rpg on 3ds this was the last one. I didn't think I'd like it for some reason based on screenshots/trailer. My gosh it has become one of my favorite RPGs/games ever
That "dark ending" should have been a special situation. Where if you got it somehow the situation the from the 1st NIER game takes place where the save file is locked. And you can only delete it. But when I say "if you got it" you should have to actually work for it. By doing alot of uncharacteristically nasty things in the timelines.
06:40 wut? why are you so horrified? it's just a xenogears+tales of destiny1(weirdly enough no talking swords in 2 even with the returning hero-heh maybe i forgot part of the story of 1-) that he wanted to make. + the talking sword stuff...a recent isekai anime used that idea very nicely. reborned into a sword or smthg. i'd bet a lot of ppl are waiting for the next season it's fine.
I loved Stocke's old design, but aside from him the redesign was much welcome. The old art style was charming in its own way, but never clicked on me, I always found characters like Eruca and Sonja so bizarre!
Amazing job on this video! Radiant Historia is such a fun and enjoyable game, and you presented a whole lot of interesting facts about the title that I have never known. Have to say, however, that the characters changes for the re-make look not very good. They kind of lost the aesthetic generally, and why does Atlus always want to add new characters to rpgs re-makes that don't belong there?
Hey Eric! Can you lower the volume of your intro to match the rest of the video? I’ve noticed that your intros how much louder than your videos. Thank you!
The only aspect I am aware of here is Raynie and Marco being planned to be NPC's who were just cannon fodder. I'm well aware of this plot element. Its interesting how it turned out in the end, with them being Stocke's primary companions and the only ones to be by his side the entire game (barring a few brief segments) and even getting added character development themselves. I'm not even sure how the context would have worked if they were killed off as planned. At least in the Rosch Brigade side, Rosch joins immediately. In theory you'd think Eruca would be for the other side, but its difficult for that idea to work out with the current storyline. Then again, maybe it was rewritten a bit so that Eruca gets more development before officially joining.
Mark my words! I will find a way to play Radiant Historia on the PS Vita! This game is one of my all time favourite RPG games, alongside the 2 Chrono games and Legend of Dragoon. I have both versions of the original DS and the perfect 3DS. I only made use of Rosch once in a boss battle, and kept him benched forever, as the other fighters are way more useful. In the Perfect version, I wish you can choose your Support Skills instead of it being random and luck based. Also, the voice-acting, while terrific, are not completely dedicated, as there are some instances where they make sounds instead of speaking as their characters. Man, that Other Ending would have been perfect for a DLC. The ones I've seen looked unnecessary. From the beginning towards the optional Super Boss, I was able to beat this game without the reliance of DLC or the Stat boosting fruits. Question: Would Nemesia be the one causing the retcon of Radiant Historia? Considering she was never from the original release?
Yeah, but if you want the digital version, hack your console and pirate it. It's inevitable that you'll eventually have to so might as well stop giving Nintendo your money sooner than later.
Finished it last year, it was one of the few games I played non-stop til I beat ir. Althought I prefer the bitter sweet ending of the original. The new ending of the remake doesn't feel earned from the gameplay perspective.
I'm actually now playing this game on my 3ds xl, its ok I dnt like time travel games or shows but its ok. I'm going to check out a walkthrough as am stock on or after needing to get info from Hiss to infiltrate the castle sigh.
I still have a sealed copy of both, but I guess I'm never gonna open em. If I play em, I'll just sail the high seas. The way I see it is (for 3DS), if Nintendo is so desperate to close the eShop, there's no sense in giving them money for digital games since they don't want our money anymore.
I’ve wanted to play this basically since it came out but have never bought it… now it looks like I’ll have to settle for the digital version before the eshop closes because physical carts are going for $100+ USD.
So making Immortal Sword as Main protagonist that's already idea for videogame story planning before the Isekai manga I read with same concept that's shock me surprise though I'm glad it's not implement cause is it will just like FF tactics and Valkyrie profile with owner of sword will always die in the end either kill in battle or Dying on age he will always be alone while seeing the world slowly going on path of destruction that Unbearable sad
It's a Shame that we're only gonna get a Switch port after it's successor is out or announced. Such is the fate of this masterpiece to fly under the radar.
They did an excellent job with the remake. It closes all open ends and gives it a very a very nice ending.
I dislike that the added content redeemed all the bad guys and made them good for the most tangential reasons. The evil queen who was crying out for the entire city to be burned down being converted by seeing a memento is laughably bad.

Immensely underrated game. Perfect Chronology needs to come to Switch so more people can experience this masterpiece
I had to go back on my 3Ds and make sure it was downloaded before the damn eshop closes as I stupidly sold my physical.
@@jmccain22090 Same here lol, I lost my cartridge during a flight so I'll have to get it again sometime
@@Percevalko make sure to do so before the Eshop closes
The Switch needs a 3DS emulator.
I already had the DS version, but I got the 3DS version digitally a few days ago since it was heavily on sale. Good excuse to replay the game. Lol.
I only played the Nintendo DS version and it was really good...
Yeah I’ve been playing it on my 3ds, it’s fun and it looks and sounds great!
This is a really well made video, great job!

I finished the game last year. It's one of the best JRPGs on the 3DS in my opinion.
although i didn't finished the game yet, it's still an enjoyable experience to play it especially the perfect chronology. it's a masterpiece in it's own right.
Thanks for these facts, I rarely see anyone talk about this game.
Radiant Historia is a personal favourite of mine. I actually prefer the DS version graphics, played on a 2DS XL or 3DS XL
One of my top 5 Rpgs. Completely underrated . After that , i played for my first time Chrono Trigger and sorry Chrono Fans but Radiant Historia has not only better time travel mechanism but also its overall the better game without nostalgia. I love the tactical combat system.

I don't think chrono had time travel outside of linear stuff
I love your content man.

Still have my day 1 remake on the 3ds physical box and cartridge. This game is was excellent.
I bought a refurbished 2ds recently and this was the 1st game I purchased. Can’t wait to get started.
Erick what rpgs do you recommend that lets you build your gameplay aspects [skill builds etc] ???

Yes.

Whats the difference of the ds vs 3ds version?
Much like Strange Journey vs Redux, the 3DS version had redone art, an overhauled and much improved UI, and an impressive amount of new story content.
There's a Radiant Historia game on the 3DS. I looked for a copy on eBay and it is selling for $350. Must be made of gold.
Now this is great content
