You can get a Silver Dapple Pinto in one of the Albert Mason missions. It's tricky, but you can track the horse after the final cutscene. I got mine in chapter 2 this way.

Fun fact; Micah’s horse is actually a Missouri Fox Trotter! Y’know how red dead online has that weird glitch where a horde of horses sorta just spawns. It was during the Beta and a few of Micah’s horse spawned, said it was a Missouri Fox Trotter when inspected. Probabaly a stretch but I really hope they release it as a purchasable color Online

The reason he has a Fox Trotter mane and tail is to make him unique I guess.
Jamie Hill I wasn’t trying to say the horse wasn’t a Hungarian halfbred, my point was that the mane isn’t a ‘Fox Trotter Mane’ Multiple horses in the game have that mane, to label it as simple the fox Trotter mane wouldn’t be correct. It’s not uncommon for one or two horse coats within one breed to have this mane rather then the regular one - whilst the other ones have the regular mane 😂

I was honestly just sitting here watching videos about the RD2 horses to fill the time while I wait patiently for a PC version. Did not expect to find them this fascinating. Good job. I have not even bought the game yet, but I know I am going for an Ardenne (Strawberry Roan) because I want to have a tank, enjoy the view of the world I am travelling in and be able to hunt big game without being thrown to the moon and back. These videos are wonderfully informative but never boring. Edit, one year later: My main horses at the moment are a Hungarian halfbreed I stole from the man selling miracle tonics (Bounty mission in Valentine, chapter 2) and a beautiful Missouri Fox Trotter I caught after the the Albert Mason mission (Chapter 2) I also have a white shire, mostly because I find it adorable. I tried the Ardenne but thought it looked clunky when riding.
Little Pinch of Ginger my advice, as soon as you get to chapter 4 go to the stables by a black Arabian horse. Level him up, then switch back and forth between the two. If your going into a gun blazing mission maybe take the ardene. But if your doing a heist then take the Arabian, he’s a solid horse for combat and one of the fastest horses the game for a quick get away away.
Wow, 9 months after the game's release and we're still playing. Clearly, so much love and attention to detail was put into this. As we play through the game, we think about how much the world, and life has changed. It deserves our precious time. I will be playing forever.
I'm pretty sure you can get the silver dapple pinto as Arthur if you do all the Acadia for amateurs sidequests. You have to take pictures of wild horses and one of them is the silver dapple pinto. Arthur even comments about how he likes the silver dapple as well! Hope this helps 👍
This is the only horse I felt compelled to buy during the game. I was pretty die hard about only using horses found in the wild or in otherwise free situations, but I absolutely had to have one of these. They're amazing horses. I've never had any trouble whatsoever in gunfights or around predators. I always like to walk my horse on a lead until it's bonded to at least level 2, so that might have been part of it, but man... such a great horse.
I got the Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Fox Trotter in Chapter 2 on my first playthrough. I was wandering around Moonstone Pond and there was a lady whose horse had "died" and needed a ride back to Emerald Ranch. Her horse was standing a few feet away. I snagged it and ran lol.
With the attention to detail in this game, I has hoped that it would also have a different trot animation for the Fox Trotter, but I think the gaits are the same for all the breeds. Would've been cool though!
The amber champagne is my favorite. At first I wanted to rush ahead in the game to get the silver dapple pinto. But after a while the contrasted colors start to become a bit of an eye sore. The amber champagne blends smoothly and even matches the outfit I crafted from hunted animals. I named him Dash. He’s my favorite horse. My other favorite horse (can’t decide if she’s equal or at number 2) is my dark bay Turkoman. She’s a beauty. I named her Epona.
There's a glitch with the woman whose horse had died and you can give a ride to emerald ranch. She often spawns near Bacchus station in Cumberland forest. Sometimes her horse will glitch and still be alive. When it is dead, reload a save and try again. Takes a while but you can nab yourself a silver dapple this way as soon as chapter two! Do it after the Hosea hunting quest though to unlock the stables. I did it again yesterday so it still works.
@Dax P i just got the silver dapple pinto from the wild after Albert Mason's third mission. It's an absolute pain tracking the damn thing but it's so worth it. Seems to follow a set path, albeit a very convoluted one. So long as you maintain the trail, it won't despawn. But the kicker is you can't mount it, calm it, study it or otherwise interact with it like normal. After the arduous task of tracking that beautiful creature, the even harder part comes: jumping onto and then breaking the horse without the benefit of the calm button. First time i got kicked off almost immediately. Second time did the trick. At this point maintaining the trail is less important so long as it doesn't go too far, but it helps. Besides the fox trotter i just got, I've also got the chocolate roan dutch warmblood too, as well as the dark bay andalusian. The mustang I nipped off a bounty hunter is a tough old boy, but he's a tad outclassed by the others. The perlino andalusian is even better than the dark bay health and stamina wise, but i wanted to give it a chance nonetheless.

Finally the Missouri Fox Trotter is reviewed, one of my favourite horses in the game,.It is indeed a magnificent horse with a great overall stats although this horse is lack of color variation but it's still great horse to own. Oh this is a great video that you make, please make the video about the thoroughbred horse as well. Keep up the good work.

I remember back in the day using the barn glitch outside San Denis to spawn rare horses... I had a fox trotter, a turkoman, and a rose gray Arabian in chapter 3 or 4!
I got the turkoman on your recommendation. It does great in combat. Fairly fast as well. I still use my black Arabian when I need speed. She's a bit temperamental. Thanks for the videos!
During my second play- through I was lucky enough to find a Silver Dapple Pinto, abandoned and almost dying by the side of the road north of Valentine. This was during episode 2.

I just got the horse after Arcadia for Amateurs 3, where you drive some wild horses toward Albert so he can photograph. One of them is a fox trotter, and after much frustration, i finally managed to track her down after the mission was over. Let me just say that it was a royal pain in the balls, but it was totally worth it.
You can still get the silver dapple pinto from chapter 2 shooting the lady from the top of face rock with a rifle. Way easier than via Albert Mason but your honour takes a hit killing the women until Biscuit spawns alive.

That standard handing really is a shortcoming to me being accustomed to elite and race. Overall a good deal, and it should be given the price tag, but I have fonder memories with the Arabian and Turkoman, which really isn't easy easy to admit given how excited I was to finally own one
I know my rose grey arabian has 10 hp 10 health 10 stamina and didnt buck immedietly at the sight of prey its a great horse I would say its better than the turkoman and foxtrotter if you use it properly.
@@Pedro_Le_Chef frankly, honestly, to me it does. I've had the white mare since chapter 2 and bought the MFT as soon as I could, chapter 3 or 4 it was. And it immediately felt less nimble especially during high speed gallops, it was off putting to me.
Accidentally named my Missouri Fox Trotter biscuit then found out the ladies horse was called biscuit, I lost him to some lemoyne raiders while he tried to run, let’s just say the alligators have been fed very well the past few weeks.
Just pointing out, you mentioned the silver dapple pinto costs 950 but the price on screen said 855. Is the 950 with standard honor? MTF are my favorite horses by far. Love these reviews.

I got my Missouri Fox trotter in chapter 2 and called him Lafayette (Silver Dapple Pinto). I also got him to max speed and 8 acceleration, he is a BEAST!

Shahab Qalandari definitely, yeah no horse will be completely perfect but the fox trotter seems to be the best you can get, don’t forget to max out bonding before judging their nerves though, they’re much more likely to bolt if you haven’t bonded with them
FYI anyone wanting a Foxtrotter without going the bounty route can get one from the RE who asks for a ride back to Emerald Ranch. Its a glitch, but there is a chance for her horse to stay alive rather than spawn in dead when she appears. It could take you hours to get it to appear alive, but as of August 7th it is possible. Took me 4 hours today.
there is definatly some RNG involved in bravery and calmness. I had super calm horses and super skittish horses of the same breed and coat in different playthroughs. In my current playthrough my unusualy brave and calm Blood Bay Thoroubred and my extremely nervous Dark Bay Tukoman are prime examples for this...
I agree @Raphael2407. I bet anything there is some RNG either in the particular Horse, or they put RNG in the scene so any horse will react per a roll. Interesting. I'd love to test this more.
Finally got the Silver Dapple Pinto from the Blackwater stable before any of the events of the story progress any further, and I love it. Probably one of my favorite horse breeds in the game. They're all rounders and look beautiful. Anyone notice that under the long white mane the silver dapple pinto looks at you with blue eyes? I really love that horse. I called him Wildfire. I had to catch a lot of bounties for that one, and luckiky Sadie helped me once or twice with that, but now I'm ready to go on with my adventures with my trusted companion. (I might also have robbed a couple of stagecoaches on the side to afford the papers for him, but sssshh, don't tell anybody. 😉)
When I finally unlocked the Missouri Fox Trotter for purchase I named her after my mom, Marilyn, and spent the effort to get her to max bonding before continuing with any missions and now she’s my primary horse
I have a new character right now that just got to chapter 4 and I've been using the white Arabian the whole game so far, as attached to her as I am, I'm considering trying this one out because I need a horse that's better for combat and I'm a good guy so I can get the massive discount at the stables. Just got the Silver dapple in Chapter 2. Its a bug but still works in November 2020. There are a couple of videos on how to find it, so you can try that if you dont want to wait (or pay).
I notice that as well, I can tell the difference if it’s a drastic difference in speed from say, a Morgan and a white Arabian. You’ll definitely notice the difference but it’s hard to notice a difference between a white Arabian from a rose grey bay Arabian.
@@ItsAmohz yeah but the thing is, between a Morgan and a white Arabian I still don't notice so big of a difference (the only difference I see is in stamina, but that is obvious). I tried timing a white Arabian and a Teneesee Walker in the same straight distance and the difference was more or less 0,5 seconds
I was actually able to acquire the silver dapple pinto around chapter 3 or early 4. The random accounter with the lady who's horse, Bisucit, died and asks for a ride. In Tall Trees somewhere I believe I accepted to give her a ride to Emerald Ranch and when I turned around the Silver Dapple Pinto MFT was standing there. Cores drained as if it had just been revived so I hopped on and fed it. Only encountered it once after months of dragging out story mode.
Matt Johnston I try to keep my horse breeds diverse. Right now I have the Hungarian, Warmblood and a draft. I’m waiting to get the turkoman as my 4th 😗

It is pretty awesome how diverse they made the characteristics of the horses where some are better for certain activities. Originally I loved the Fox Trotter because it was calmer than the Arabians but now I mostly want a horse for battle and hunting which all the war and work horses are actually better for than the Fox Trotter. Can't wait for the update, what do you use your horses for mainly?
Bit late, but my friendship lvl 2 girl I got from the stable in lemoyne didn't even buck me off when we trotted straight over an alligator and it snapped at us !! She was a bit agitated but a pat and she was fine, my friendship 4 Mustang would have bucked me off and I thought they were meant to be the braver horses haha
@@lucyparker9063 silver pinto. Theres an old lady on a path. 99% of the time shes standing next to a dead one but if you approach from the right angle it's still alive, although very Ill. You can revive it and take it. Theres a TH-cam vid on here somewhere that shows you how to do it :)
It seems as if you are trying to find a reason NOT to use a Fox Trotter. I wish there to be more breeds to rival the Trotter but sadly imo only the Turkoman can get close. The Albanian is close I guess...
There is a mission with Albert, the wildlife photographer where he sends you to heard horses and bring them to him for a photoshoot. Among them there is a Dapple pinto fox trotter, he is tamable if you follow some special instructions. There are TH-cam videos explaining how to do it, I did it today and it worked. You can do it from chapter 2.
I have it but rately ride with it, I confess I dont like the looks of it (shape), long and thin and not tall, but that is just a personal aesthetic preference

The silver missouri fox trotter can be stolen from a lady as early as chapter 2. Most of the times, it spawns dead, but sometimes it's just weak, but alive.

Similar glitch with that NPC lady happened to me too - just by Fort Wallace instead. One of the best horses in game for free!

Finally the Missouri Fox Trotter is reviewed, one of my favourite horses in the game,.It is indeed a magnificent horse with a great overall stats although this horse is lack of color variation but it's still great horse to own. Oh this is a great video that you make, please make the video about the thoroughbred horse as well. Keep up the good work.

As others have said, your videos are almost calming. I have seen each review at least 3 or 4 times. You really are talented. I know you are busy with real life, but I bet if you branch out s bit and make your vids longer, you could really grow your channel, you have a rare talent.
I remember back in the day using the barn glitch outside San Denis to spawn rare horses... I had a fox trotter, a turkoman, and a rose gray Arabian in chapter 3 or 4!

During my second play- through I was lucky enough to find a Silver Dapple Pinto, abandoned and almost dying by the side of the road north of Valentine. This was during episode 2.

Somehow my game glitched out when I ran into her. The horse was alive but with poor health. I'm not sure how but I'm glad it happend

I just got the horse after Arcadia for Amateurs 3, where you drive some wild horses toward Albert so he can photograph. One of them is a fox trotter, and after much frustration, i finally managed to track her down after the mission was over. Let me just say that it was a royal pain in the balls, but it was totally worth it.

Another nice tip is the Pinto I have at the moment, cost me nothing. He was free at the horse spawn feeding post, just little out Saint Denies.
Randomly found a Silver Dapple Pinto sitting just off the road by itself up in the Cumberland Forest in Chapter 2.
It's a glitch the horse is supposed to be dead and there's a lady there that asks you for a ride but every once in a while it's still alive lol
You can still get the silver dapple pinto from chapter 2 shooting the lady from the top of face rock with a rifle. Way easier than via Albert Mason but your honour takes a hit killing the women until Biscuit spawns alive.
i went bounty hunting with the trotter and it was a tank never bucks me off his name smoke such a loyal horse it is one of the best horses in the game i love it
That standard handing really is a shortcoming to me being accustomed to elite and race. Overall a good deal, and it should be given the price tag, but I have fonder memories with the Arabian and Turkoman, which really isn't easy easy to admit given how excited I was to finally own one
does handling actually make a tangible difference though ?
I know my rose grey arabian has 10 hp 10 health 10 stamina and didnt buck immedietly at the sight of prey its a great horse I would say its better than the turkoman and foxtrotter if you use it properly.
@@Pedro_Le_Chef frankly, honestly, to me it does. I've had the white mare since chapter 2 and bought the MFT as soon as I could, chapter 3 or 4 it was. And it immediately felt less nimble especially during high speed gallops, it was off putting to me.

Sure, one of the strangers you meet story mode, (escort mission) needs a ride because her horse had died, the horse was a Missouri Fox Trotter, who you find out through dialogue was called biscuit

I went from white Arabian to gold Turkoman to find out it was WAAYY too skittish around crocs and that surprised me since the Arabian is known for being skittish but mine is really really brave around crocs. Shahab Qalandari definitely, yeah no horse will be completely perfect but the fox trotter seems to be the best you can get, don’t forget to max out bonding before judging their nerves though, they’re much more likely to bolt if you haven’t bonded with them
FYI anyone wanting a Foxtrotter without going the bounty route can get one from the RE who asks for a ride back to Emerald Ranch. Its a glitch, but there is a chance for her horse to stay alive rather than spawn in dead when she appears. It could take you hours to get it to appear alive, but as of August 7th it is possible. Took me 4 hours today.
I'm surprised by the calm part. My foxtrotter has bucked me off more than any of my other horses other than the arabian (with max bonding)
Mines haven’t bucked me off not once even when it was on the level one horse bonding
there is definatly some RNG involved in bravery and calmness. I had super calm horses and super skittish horses of the same breed and coat in different playthroughs.
In my current playthrough my unusualy brave and calm Blood Bay Thoroubred and my extremely nervous Dark Bay Tukoman are prime examples for this...
I agree @Raphael2407. I bet anything there is some RNG either in the particular Horse, or they put RNG in the scene so any horse will react per a roll. Interesting. I'd love to test this more.
Finally got the Silver Dapple Pinto from the Blackwater stable before any of the events of the story progress any further, and I love it. Probably one of my favorite horse breeds in the game. They're all rounders and look beautiful. Anyone notice that under the long white mane the silver dapple pinto looks at you with blue eyes? I really love that horse. I called him Wildfire.
I had to catch a lot of bounties for that one, and luckiky Sadie helped me once or twice with that, but now I'm ready to go on with my adventures with my trusted companion.
(I might also have robbed a couple of stagecoaches on the side to afford the papers for him, but sssshh, don't tell anybody. 😉)
I think this horse and the Turk are about tied for the best horse, I also love the Arabian, it's just I find they get startled too easy!

When I finally unlocked the Missouri Fox Trotter for purchase I named her after my mom, Marilyn, and spent the effort to get her to max bonding before continuing with any missions and now she’s my primary horse
I had both Fox trotters in the game and they never let me down. Oh, except when a cougar ran at us. 😊 in that case they were wimps.

Just got the Silver dapple in Chapter 2. Its a bug but still works in November 2020. There are a couple of videos on how to find it, so you can try that if you dont want to wait (or pay).
am I the only one who doesn't really notice a difference in speed in any of the horses?
I notice that as well, I can tell the difference if it’s a drastic difference in speed from say, a Morgan and a white Arabian. You’ll definitely notice the difference but it’s hard to notice a difference between a white Arabian from a rose grey bay Arabian.
@@ItsAmohz yeah but the thing is, between a Morgan and a white Arabian I still don't notice so big of a difference (the only difference I see is in stamina, but that is obvious). I tried timing a white Arabian and a Teneesee Walker in the same straight distance and the difference was more or less 0,5 seconds

I was actually able to acquire the silver dapple pinto around chapter 3 or early 4. The random accounter with the lady who's horse, Bisucit, died and asks for a ride. In Tall Trees somewhere I believe I accepted to give her a ride to Emerald Ranch and when I turned around the Silver Dapple Pinto MFT was standing there. Cores drained as if it had just been revived so I hopped on and fed it. Only encountered it once after months of dragging out story mode.

Matt Johnston I try to keep my horse breeds diverse. Right now I have the Hungarian, Warmblood and a draft. I’m waiting to get the turkoman as my 4th 😗
@@Lauren-wr4mp The turkoman is the one I want now that I started playing online lol. It is pretty awesome how diverse they made the characteristics of the horses where some are better for certain activities. Originally I loved the Fox Trotter because it was calmer than the Arabians but now I mostly want a horse for battle and hunting which all the war and work horses are actually better for than the Fox Trotter. Can't wait for the update, what do you use your horses for mainly?
Bit late, but my friendship lvl 2 girl I got from the stable in lemoyne didn't even buck me off when we trotted straight over an alligator and it snapped at us !! She was a bit agitated but a pat and she was fine, my friendship 4 Mustang would have bucked me off and I thought they were meant to be the braver horses haha
Good horses that look well on Arthur would be the Amber Champagne Misouri Fox Trotter, Wild Bay Mustang and Dark Bay Turkoman

@@lucyparker9063 silver pinto. Theres an old lady on a path. 99% of the time shes standing next to a dead one but if you approach from the right angle it's still alive, although very Ill. You can revive it and take it. Theres a TH-cam vid on here somewhere that shows you how to do it :)

It seems as if you are trying to find a reason NOT to use a Fox Trotter. I wish there to be more breeds to rival the Trotter but sadly imo only the Turkoman can get close. The Albanian is close I guess...

There is a mission with Albert, the wildlife photographer where he sends you to heard horses and bring them to him for a photoshoot. Among them there is a Dapple pinto fox trotter, he is tamable if you follow some special instructions. There are TH-cam videos explaining how to do it, I did it today and it worked. You can do it from chapter 2.

Your horse videos are absolutely fantastic! I have now watched every single one that you have created, and I still can't figure out which horse is the best war horse, the best for racing, or the best all rounder (that's available in the standard version story mode, by the end of the game).

The silver missouri fox trotter can be stolen from a lady as early as chapter 2. Most of the times, it spawns dead, but sometimes it's just weak, but alive.
Please do the thoroughbreds next
