That climb was part of the Shropshire Devil sportive that I rode on Sunday. We got to the Burway after 70 very hilly miles. Then we did the Stiperstones after it. I think I used a 34 x 28. I had a 32 sprocket but I didn't need it, as I was spinning enough as it was. I never stopped. Although it was a really tough day. Good luck next time.
FAIR play John Paul, no excuses from me It just doesn't fit for me :-) - I need to get back and get it cracked off there's nothing worse than stopping on a climb, going slow is OK but stopping is WEAK!! must do better
Almost killed me trying to get up this earlier today. My bike was running 53/39 - 27/12 gearing which made matters kinda, well.....difficult. That initial slope up to the gate, before the scenic alpine views, filled me with absolute dread. It looks near vertical. It must be greater than 20%, surely? If I can get a new cassette for the weekend I might give it a real go.
I had a similar issue with 36-25, not enough spinning to keep you from burning up. I've invested in a 32 for these really helped up winnetts pass Derbyshire #Spin2Win 😀👍 must go back a conquer it
This is brilliant , how easy is it to put the power /speed /cadence into the video? i've done rosedale and heygate bank , our lass has bought me a go pro 4 and i want to do what you do with the videos , is it easy? i've got a garmin 810 i use on strava
+carl easton really easy with virb edit never used the gopro software ( I believe its dashware based) you just import your garmin files into virb edit and sync the exact place you started the climb and make the video and then upload it on youtube :-) when you have it cracked send me a link :-)

This is no97 in the UK climbs book, I'm going back with a 32 rear one day and get up in one go or just do some training :-)
