      WOW ! That gas detector can save many people's lives. Every person that has natural gas or propane heat needs to buy one of those detectors.

    Based on your recommendation I purchased the Yeezou. It detected a leak in the wiring behind my stove. The local gas company came out to my home, confirmed I had a leak, and then turned off my gas. Thanks for the recommendation and the tutorial on how to use it.

    Thank you so much for this very informational tutorial and demonstration!
    We read the instructions over and over, snd it just didn't make sense; or I was doubting myself and stressed that I'd use the device incorrectly.
    We smelled gas in our rental home; and detected a leak using this. Thanks again!

    Great information and tool. Nice set up with new tank.

    And what an enchanting warning noise it makes. It seems like it helped you determine "yep there's a leak" but was less helpful in pointing out exactly whether where the leak is.

      Sensitivity can be adjusted to aid in pinpointing a leak.

    Nice device , my question is
    Is this device can be used to detect sewer gas ?

    Hi, Question: The device gas company technician uses clicks when a leak is detected.
    1) Why this one clicks non-stop?
    2) What is the meaning/interpretation of each click in this case?
    3) Can it click faster in case of a leak? Or leak always results in an alarm beep?
    Thanks a lot! Very nice video.

    • @FunBubble
      @FunBubble  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      hi, im guessing the click noise is just to let you know the detector is working. the alarm sound is what happens when it detects a leak. i never noticed the click sound change pace in any way.

    While this detector does work I notice by accident that if I breathe on it the meter will peg the scale! I was looking for an underground leak like you and noticed just the water vapor near the ground triggers it making it hard to tell. So unfortunately it triggers from moisture as well as methane in natural gas.

      I came to the video for help with this exact issue. My husband also closed his fist around the detector "sniffer" and the heat of his hand seemed to make it go off. We set it while it was outside in the cold air and as soon as we got in a warm environment it went off. Now I have no idea if it is reliable.

    Well thats very scary. Is the old one just going to stay down there?

    • @FunBubble
      @FunBubble  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi, yes the old tank will be abandoned. Propane isnt considered toxic so it can be let to dissipate. and i didnt want to dig up the old tank which will tear up the yard with a backhoe and removal costs about $900. the new aboveground tank will be easier to maintain and wont rust thru in the wet soil.

    This might be a really dumb question but if I buy one of these for my grill using a propane tank I do it while the grill is off correct?

    Hi. I know this is quite an aold post now...but...would this wotk on tracing methane gas? I want to see if I have leaks anywhere in my toilet stack pipe.
    Kind regards

      Same here, is that what you call methane gas? I’m smelling gas after having a new roof installed and wondering if some debris from the roof got in the pipe, which is too tall for me to peer into the pipe.

    What if it turns red but doesn’t beep around certain areas? Does that just mean it made contact with the surface?

    • @FunBubble
      @FunBubble  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      its possible it is detecting a small amount of gas. try the adjustment knob some more and retest. mixing some dishwashing liquid soap with water in a spray bottle can also help locate a leak. spray the area and if tiny bubbles appear then that spot has a leak.

    Is it safe to use in a flammable gas richEnvironment, does the button produce an arc when turned on? Same with the Sensitivity wheel?

      WiseRock Man it is not explosion proof if that’s what your asking

    • @benm9382
      @benm9382 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depend on the type of tester. I think this model used corona discharge so it wouldn't be a wise choice for a flammable gas enviroment. There are infra red and ultrasonic leak testers available for flammable gas

      @@benm9382 This is a Combustible Gas Detector. Why would anyone manufacture a Combustible Gas Detector that produced a spark? That doesn't pass the common sense test.

    When I set the sensitivity outside and go inside the first one or 2 red lights go on , is that normal ?

    • @raykeogh1972
      @raykeogh1972 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to explain out side inside what are we talking about ? I have a MotorHome it was stinking of gas outside the van buy where the bottles are kept. I opened the hatch and the thing went crazy. So I put the gas tester at arms length and away from the hatch where the gas bottles are kept, reset it till you hear a noise with 1 red bar ( make sure you warm it up first ) then lower your dial to you hear just the clicking sound. I found this very precise, I found 3 different places gas was leaking, if your doing yours and there is a gas pipe run the end along the pipe any connections this to, it really is good and for the price it’s a super life saver..
