This game needs a reboot. I miss being able to plan the mission with 7 other NPCs that are part of the team. They slowly took this ability away starting with R6 Vegas.
To be fair, it already happened with the original Ghost Recon. I must admit that planning the strikes was never really my thing either, TBH. Realistically, the teams executing the missions don't plan that stuff anyway, that's rather a task for the upper ranks. Totally valid to implement it in such a game though, of course. But, again, realistically, no player these days would want the game like that anymore. So, it would either be a game for a very limited market, or a complete financial failure. I always preferred the Ghost Recon way, BTW. That's a decent amount of organizing going on in the mission that I am willing to take. in Rainbow Six, it was a tad too much for me.
@@8166PC1 make sure to follow the development of “Ground Branch” and “Ready or Not”, they’re going slowly but in the right direction for tactical action. Best we have that’s similar to the planning phase is Doorkickers and now in beta DoorKickers 2. Sadly no complete packages of planning and execution like R6 and RS were.
joseph291 you haven’t played siege if you look at it in disgust. Siege is the best property that Tom Clancy rainbow six has ever produced. The game is the perfect example of worldwide special operations siege and defend buildings. There’s nothing better.

But more of the original operators. And what it would be like if members of the spetnaz, sas, and navy seals, joined up to become terrorist. And how tactical it would be to send a team in to defuse that bomb before it blew up the city!
There's no way COD players would even fathom a game like this. One shot one kill type of games with an important planning phase is too much for the gun and run, "heal" while under cover after being shot 50 times gamers of today.
Man how I loved this game. Coming up with a well-made plan and succeeding was always a blast. I really hated how regularly the AI was able to headshot you with a pistol from 1000m away in 0.05 seconds though.
The house mission in Georgia the first one where you have to remain undetected took me forever to beat in middle school lol. I loved these games. Obviously N64 was huge for us but in middle school the games that were otherwise huge were this game, the MIB game, and Max Payne. I loved the first Max Payne game. So good.
I remember having my first PC, getting this game and putting the resolution to high and playing this at 1 FPS for like months...then tried a lower one and it was smooth...wow. The moment the game was smooth as my brain, what a feeling.
Had to show this to my nephew to let him see where his wonderful Siege comes from, lol the look on his face when he seen the graphics and wonderful animations.

I remember they had some amazing maps and mods for the game. They had this great total conversion mod that let you play as the terrorist. And use their weapons and skins and animations and you fought against Rainbow
I remember busting out multiplayer with a friend. Sadly, no respawn, which resulted in: 1. Connecting 2. Selecting map 3. Two people camping the whole game. 4. Someone finally running out and getting shot. 5. Repeat long process to go again. Then came Socom multiplayer and my world changed forever.
I remember my father came home with this game and I was so fucking happy, started to play and played for hours.. damn I miss these times.. fuck man take me baack !!!

The reality of it is awesome. Shots to the legs make your character limp if the firepower is great enough punch through your armor. Any shots that penetrate the upper torso armor noticably unstablize the diameter of your crosshairs, notably affecting accuracy and on the move shooting. Heavy armor slows you down but chance to survive grenades, and automatic firepower. If in light armor move faster, higher chance of casuIalty espically in regards to grenades. Medium armor is a balance between the two. Which makes for great tactical shootouts. Took 29 bullets and survived Terrorist Hunt one time with Jamal Murad and Heavy Armor

wow! it's been so long I had forgot all about this game. I used to play it all the time. There were so many glitches in the online maps where you could go places you weren't supposed to. LOL
When I played this as a child I had no idea what was going on. But that first mission in the museum was scary af for me. That was the whole point of the game for me back then. Killing teamates, civilians and breaking glass. Maybe killing an actual enemy, but rarely. AND IT WAS FUN AF! I miss being a kid!

I've been wondering how random are the AI spawns in Rogue Spear? I replayed the first level over and over and over again and while it's mostly similar, there are some small, minor variations, such as the terrorist immediately to the right by the doorway sometimes switching which side he's on, and on one occasion I saw the guard up on the second-floor railings running across instead of his usual walk cycle. Just wanted to get your take on it. I know that Elite difficulty changes a whole slew of things such as certain AI scripting, enemy placement and count, and so on, but I was replaying it strictly on Veteran repeatedly, I wasn't changing difficulty.

I used to make the most complicated assault plans. On the tanker I would have Dieter snipe the guy in the ship tower.

I've been wondering how random are the AI spawns in Rogue Spear? I replayed the first level over and over and over again and while it's mostly similar, there are some small, minor variations, such as the terrorist immediately to the right by the doorway sometimes switching which side he's on, and on one occasion I saw the guard up on the second-floor railings running across instead of his usual walk cycle.
Just wanted to get your take on it. I know that Elite difficulty changes a whole slew of things such as certain AI scripting, enemy placement and count, and so on, but I was replaying it strictly on Veteran repeatedly, I wasn't changing difficulty.

Hey man! Download the game and just go here: github.com/narzoul/DDrawCompat/releases download the "experimental" and "0.2.1" DDraw compat and try one file at a time. Inside you'll find a ddraw dll. thanks to that file i did this video. Let me know if it works or not. PS: just put the ddraw.dll file inside the game core folder and run the game.
