Why is it more weird Jon Bernthal won this year than last year? Last year he was only in three seconds of the episode he submitted, this year it made total sense he won for the episode "Fishes" because he's in the whole episode. The voters clearly paid attention there. 👉
@@chrisjrosen Me too, I always thought he would win because it was the most talked about episode of The Bear. He might not win again so it would've been really weird if he hadn't won one of these awards while the show was on such a high and at its peak in Season 2.

One of the unintended consequences of shows now having a two year break (at least). Is that a show is more likely now to sweep the awards than it would have 15-20 years ago when everyone was basically in competition at the same time. Had HOTD, Stranger Things, Shogun, The Last of Us and the Crown all competed at the same time, no way would Shogun get 14. I mean, next year is going to be The Last of Us sweeping! It’s already a done deal!! Can this be my question/statement for next weeks Slugfest 😅.

Haven't listened to the video yet, just wanted to vent a little and say I'm already dreading the emmy ceremony because my pessimistic side is telling me The Bear, Shogun and Baby Reindeer are gonna sweep every single category they can. I don't mind Shogun sweep (wouldn't personally do it but it's ok), but the prospect of the other two especially things like Baby Reindeer in directing, lead and supp actor and the bear in lead and supp actress and writing (honestly cannot decide which one would be most egregious but probably Ayo over Jean, since Ayo is neither a lead nor in a comedy series) is already making me sad. And if the bear really sweeps over hacks, just bury the comedy categories already, make one "multi season" category (as opposed to limited) with comedy and drama together, and award only the dramas since that's the only thing they care about
The Morning Show is giving big Handmaid's Tale season 4 vibes. I think it's not winning anything in the acting categories. They nominated everyone there too and nobody won for it. Nestor Carbonell won for Lost in head-canon. Also RDJ winning would be so disappointing...
