    Loving your channels, the screws are self drilling tapping. Also using a better quality drill bit, means less pressure on the rivet, and un wanted dings in the outer skin. When I changed my speakers, I unscrewed the steel panel, to get to the outer skin. And used 2mm silent coat, to prevent vibrations. I also used 2mm silent coat, on the access panel. Door weights a bit now 😂 but it won't vibrate. What I say is only ment to be helpful, I'm not knocking you. Great work though 👍🏻

    Hi Colin if you can remember if you replaced the mesh covers before you put the door cards back on or did you leave them off ?
    Just that I’m about to change mine in my 2004 T5 tomorrow weather permitting with the same upgrade as yours x

    Weather permitting im going to give this a go at the weekend and replace front door speakers. I have the same head unit in my T6 as you but notice in your van you also have rear speakers fitted. Did you have to do anything special to get those working as plan to fit some rear ones soon also. Thanks

    The speaker system that comes as standard is pretty damn good for a van

      I completely agree, sadly though I came from a Mercedes and that sound system compared to a van was leagues ahead. I have now installed rear speakers and I am about to install an under seat sub to get the bottom end just right

      Yes bud! They come with the speaker adaptor kit and the speakers anyway! ;)

      Yorkshire Pop Top Adventures as long as no soldering is required I’m shite at soldering!!

    • @Yorkshirepoptopadventures
      @Yorkshirepoptopadventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha me too... you'll have to join the wires at the back of the stereo but it should just be a clip rather than solder... any other joins can be done with connecting blocks and a bit of insulation tape or shrink stuff!

  • @harryellaway316
    @harryellaway316 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    i did this on my vw golf, i didnt use the wire adapter you used I cut the cables and wired the two positive and two negative to a single positive and negative to the speaker. its a bit quieter than the stock ones is it due to this ?

    • @Yorkshirepoptopadventures
      @Yorkshirepoptopadventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It might do, but im not so sure... i installed some more in the back of the van using your method and they were fine. I am not sure if the block is needed to help the cross over of the highs and lows as my speakers are still pretty loud (if not louder than the stock ones)

      Hiya Andy, no I haven't had it lowered mate. I have bought so many camper van accessories it probably looks low 🤣🤣
