      AVOID THIS SCREEN AT ALL COSTS! PLEASE READ THIS!
      This screen is causing major issues on the car.
      My model Y gets an error during install of new software update. It got an error after 30 percent. Called Tesla they said "it looks fine no visible faults with your car but the installation failed due to something with your auto pilot computer."
      My autopilot works great and no errors in the car. But it refuses to update.
      Just spoke to another user that installed the same screen. He has the same issue. In worst case we may have damaged the autopilot computer and it might cost us up to 8000 dollars to repair plus voided warranty.
      Hansshow is a joke. NEVER would I recommend anyone buying something that connects to the main computer from them again.
      I've actually taken my time to call different vendors around the world and explain to them what I have seen with my car, and they say that the screen is too new for them to know if this is an isolated case or a design issue. But they would contact Hansshow and demand an answer.
      One thing is for sure: this screen is the first one that actually takes control and wants to tell the car what to do. And the car dosen't seem to like it all. The other screens just read the open signal, this one writes and reads.
      What will Tesla say about this when they open the logs and see another device connected on the system? Who knows but it scares me.
      Hansshow is ghosting me and not giving any help.
      All these TH-camrs are paid by Hansshow to make these paid reviews and they will not help you in any way.

      @@sa.t.2507 I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with this screen. I have alreay reached out to PimpMyEv with your feedback. That is where I got mine from. My recommendation would be to remove the new screen plug, plug in the Tesla plug directly and see if the update goes through. The failed updates sometimes come back if you let the car sleep (close the door, lock the car and don't use the app) for a few hours. If the update doesn't show up, calling Tesla to manually push the update might work. Unfortunately, I removed this screen from my car to install another new product in that spot and I cannot independently verify the update failed issues. But looks like you have talked to other Tesla owners who have this same display with the same issue so it is definitely Tesla not liking an unidentified object connected to its computer. I will keep pushing both PimpMyEv and Hansshow to demand a solution. Meanwhile, please try the plug removal and let me know if that solves the issue. Can you also please send me a quick email so we can communicate there?
      In the past, I know some folks had isolated situations with the front cluster display where they got autopilot error messages and Hansshow sent them individual updates for the small screen to solve those issues. Hope they figure something out soon.
      BTW, I can't speak for other TH-camrs but I do NOT get paid to make these videos. If you watch my videos, they are mainly about showing you the new products and showing you how to install them. I spend countless hours making these videos because I am passionate about modifying my Tesla and helping others Tesla owners personalize their cars. The youtube ad/affiliate links don't even pay for 5% of the time and resources it takes to make these videos. Thank you!

      @@ShivaSapkota Hi Shiva, first of all thank you for your kind reply. I have not yet tested to disconnect the screen since it was quite a challenge to do it for me. I would rather not do it again, and to be honest my kids love it and it adds so much value to our trips and car. Even if the screen is an older android tablet more or less we like it for what it is and what it offers.
      I am thinking of unplugging the protocol box first since I believe it is that box that send the commands to the car, so perhaps disconnecting it would do the trick?
      I would love to email you, but I can find your mail anywhere? Can you provide it perhaps?

    • @ShivaSapkota
      @ShivaSapkota  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sa.t.2507 You can certainly try disconnecting the protocol box but if this display is causing interference, Tesla's AI might still detect the foreign plug. I was talking to PimpMyEV this morning after your comment and perhaps they can send a new harness with some sort of switch that turns off this display and protocol prior to installing Tesla updates. That would eliminate the hassle of removing that plug every time.

I cannot guarantee this will work for everyone but it worked for me. I have installed auto door + two Hansshow displays at the same time to that plug for testing purposes in the past with no issues. I’ll give credit for having the confidence & willingness to thoughtfully install & test all these accessories while reviewing for us. However, please take more care with your cable routing & management especially with how many gadgets & repeated assembly procedures it’s amazingly easy to snag or break or short any delicate system critical cable. Try to route cables along existing cables securing them w/ zipties, also wrap new cable runs with Tessa tape (especially loose wires) as used on the factory wiring harnesses.

      @JD Willingham check your software version on the display. Hansshow has been pretty bad at distributing the updates unless you have an issue, but the latest software is MCU 0.3.13 which I believe was released in August. I am 100% sure Shiva can help you get the update. You’ll need a USB-C thumb drive to install the update it takes about 3 minutes to install. It should solve some of the initial issues the Linux display had.

    They need to make the screen a bit bigger. The screen is almost the size of most large smartphones now a days. It’ll be harder for the left and right rear passengers to see the display unless they are sitting right in front of it

      It doesn't, even with my seat covers I still have a little bit of clearance. I don't have a date for the smaller screen but they told me perhaps 1-2 months. Thank you!

    The display of the rear seats is quite confusing as they are shown facing you. Consequently, what are really the left and right commands for the heating? On the left of the screen for the right seat or the opposite? Thank you for the great video, as usual. 🙂

    • @ShivaSapkota
      @ShivaSapkota  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point! It funtions as if you are looking at the screen for those seats. So the passenger's right is the right on both the screen and the seat and the left is also on both. I had to go to my car and test this for you lol 😂 Thanks!

    2 questions.
    1.Can waze be displayed up to the Primary front monitor?
    2. Can it provide premium connectivity if we use our own Sim to simulate the wi fi availability?

    • @ShivaSapkota
      @ShivaSapkota  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. No
      2. Yes (I still have to test it but it makes sense). You would put a sim, make this display a mobile hotspot to broadcast wifi, connect that wifi to your Car and you will get those extra features. Keep in mind though you will not get traffic data and satellite maps without purchasing the premium connectivity even if you had wifi.

      @@teslarobotaxi Thanks for reply. But my reason for asking is to bypass Premium connectivity subscription via having our own Sim card in the secondary screen.
