TTMIK was the first to make Korean language learning accessible on the internet and I'm glad they continue to be the at the forefront of the industry as it grows and advances. I'll always remember fondly the early days of learning with the TTMIK podcasts and love that they remain relevant for new generations of language learners to discover and study with. I hope your company and influence continue to grow through 2024 and beyond.
Talking with ChatGPT as a Korean teacher is awesome. I am shy with people and do not want to waste their time, but talking to AI is loads easier and zero stress. I love that idea!
@@Morrisseys7thFriend i also had that problem and what you could ask is „correct my sentence“ or „write my sentence so it sounds natural“ or „write this sentence so it sounds like a native speaker would say it“
I really like the TTMIK product as a whole and have purchased many books and also purchased a subscription for the online courses. I additionally really enjoyed the sample of the new graded Korean app and appreciate the work that went into it, however the subscription price seems exceedingly expensive, and there seems to be no discount for those who already subscribe to the online course. It would have been something I would have subscribed to straight away, however at this point the cost is a little prohibitive.
I felt the same way. I'm also subscribed to the website and bought quite a few books from TTMIK, and I was excited about the news of the Stories app, but when I saw the price and absolutely no integration of already existing subscriptions to their site, it immediately lost me.
I agree. I really like TTMIK and have been using their books, podcasts, and online courses to study with for years. And I 100% supported their decision to move to a subscription-based model because I can tell how much time, effort, and money they put into their lessons. However, I am currently studying level 7 of their curriculum and supplement the grammar lessons with other courses that they already offer on the online catalogue. I enjoyed trying out the stories app and again I think it was well made and a very useful tool, but I financially cannot make it work to pay more money for another subscription that I would use as an additional supplemental tool. Realistically, I think I would probably use the app once a week at my currently level. Maybe they could offer different models so more people could access the app. Like maybe 2 free stories a month for subscribers? Or some sort of limited number of stories with a cheaper price tag, like 5 stories a month for $5?

I am so pleased to see TTMIK teachers acknowledging the power of AI and how to work with it. I know some of my other favorite teachers discourage this, so kudos again for taking a stand. If this can help more beginners get past that initial hurdle then I am all for it. One minor disclaimer, is that 3.5 AI can make mistakes, but still I think with enough other resources like teachers and chat services to real native speakers. This should be able to help mitigate those issues.
I love TTMIK!!! I have been "learning" Korean since 2017 on and off, but with a big break in between. I basically am starting from zero again and have bought your first level books. I am feeling discouraged so far by how slow my progress has been, but this has me more motivated again. 화이팅!
I definitely need a new reason to learn Korean and need to find a time to commit to learning it. When I first heard anything about Korea, it was through dramas and songs and I wanted to understand without google translate/ subtitles. But really deep down my main motivation to learn any language is to be able to talk to people. I think if I break my goal down into smaller more achievable steps, I can keep on track. So I’ll say a goal for 2024 is to get to a conversational level, so I can find a language partner and talk to people in Hmart when I’m struggling to find things!😂
Anyway for existing TTMIK subscription members to get discount on the reader app? kinda insane the pricing especially on top of paying for the original TTMIK membership.

I am also new to learning Korean. Besides studying from books, I find studying on the app is very OK. I'm learning the HeyKorea app, learning basic knowledge is very good
Thank you so much. I'm struggling so much in speaking Korean, I've been so lazy for years and doesn't really need to speak Korean on a daily basis since I'm a housewife here in Korea, I don't really go out and my husband speaks English well. But now enough is enough. I'll start to take learning more seriously now.
It’s a fantastic dictionary. I haven’t used it as a chat partner though. Just seems weird. I don’t have any interest in hearing the opinion of an AI 😂.
Wow this is great. Thank you so much, I really appreciate this and your great app :) Please continue your good work and know that I for one, appreciate all your hard work. Thanks again.
It's weird how often you advertise the reading app without ever mentioning the price. Even on the app page, the price isn't listed. Even in the app when you initially open it. Well, it's not weird. We all know why. It's expected from companies in 2024. Which is sad. And TTMIK certainly used to seem different.

Right now I'm at Sogang so I'm mostly using their material to study but I also watch a more simple drama right now first with no subtitles, then with subtitles trying to learn the new vocab, and then a third time I will watch to see how I've improved 🤗 듣기 practice
this was so helpful! i was looking for a way to practice output at home since i don't have any korean friends or teachers, and using chatgtp is such a great idea! i wouldn't have thought of that by myself, thank you so much!🙌
I am currently watching T1's contents on youtube because it's particularly entertaining for me and and there are always eng/kor subtitles available (this and ttmik are kinda my daily korean content for now)
I'm trying be fluent in Korean since 2019 but what I still know is very basic. I subscribed to you channel since 2021 but it's really hard to watch tutorial everyday without motivation. So it's like humble request- why don't you make another channel teaching Korean with Tv series. It would be fun and everyday I would look forward for it..!
The ChatGPT voice in the video sounds like a native Korean but my ChatGPT speaks Korean with an American accent… is there something I can do about that?
Very impressive and great suggestions. I can't wait to try the graded reading app. All your books for reading practise have been so helpful, it's great there is now a reliable app to practise with! Thank you for the hard work.
Hi, would you be considering teaching different Korean dialects? i begin to love "satoori" as more and more drama features character who speaks satoori. But so far there are very few resources in learning Korean dialects online. Hope you can have courses for Korean dialects, i love talking to old folks in the rural area! Thanks and have a prosperous 2024!
Thanks for those tips! I'm a newbie and I've made it my New Year Resolution to learn the Korean language. I'll be sure to follow up with my lessons. ☺️
Im an 11 year old student but i know english very well but my teachers dont know about it🤣 i have the highgest scores in english class but i really wanna learn korean cause i know english already✨

I'm still honestly quite shocked about the price of your graded reader app. The cost is prohibitive for the majority of people, especially when paired with TTMIK's yearly subscription. A real shame, I can see it would be useful for my practise but I can't justify the cost based on the app's content unfortunately.

@@talktomeinkorean thank you for listening to us. I've actually been keeping an eye on TTMIK Stories and the offers available as it is something that I'm interested in, but unfortunately even with the discounts I think the app is too expensive and I can't really justify spending that much each month/year when there's so much content out there - albeit not divided into graded readers - that I could use as reading practice. Have been following you for over eight years (recently found a postcard from MyKoreanStore after I purchased a book from you ages ago!) and paying for the membership for a few years now, so I know you produce quality content, but there is a limit to the amount I'll pay and unfortunately TTMIK Stories is way over that limit, especially as I already pay for TTMIK's yearly subscription and that's less expensive than the graded reader app but includes more features. So I'll be sticking with my website subscription for now and supplementing it with reading novels and webtoons in Korean. The discount for those subscribing to both services also only counts if you purchase a website subscription after the TTMIK Stories app from what I can see? That doesn't help those who already have a website subscription (especially those on the old website pricing). Best of luck with the app!

TTMIK Story app is a great idea but way too expensive, given the current feature and function and for something we may (or may not) use everyday. For context a lot of podcast offer full transcription with full translation nowadays

Thank you so much for this video ...but i want to ask this question ...people would'nt need bilingual or multilinguals to guide them with the language ..since GPT is very effective and contextual ....i mean people who travel around wouldnt need a language guide/ translator ..???
There’s no lifetime option? I paid a lot of money for an annual subscription to the TTMIK website years ago and got didn’t get a chance to use it much because honestly I couldn’t figure the site out and I just got distracted. If I had bought the textbooks instead like I wish I had it would have been fine - I they would still be waiting for me. I’m not a fan of subscription models at these prices. I can get grades readers from other companies for a fraction of the price. There’s tons of other people on TH-cam pumping out stuff for free. I do expect this to be better and I can pay but you need to make the price reasonable.
Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your interest in a lifetime option for our website subscription. Currently, we don't have plans for it, but we will certainly take your opinion into account when developing our future offerings
The big problem i think with the new app is that thr price is simply nit realistic compared to the average person's pay wage. And even if they have the money, why would they use it on the app instead of something else. At that point, just pay for private lessons. In this economy, nobody is spending this much money on an app (some people may but you get my point)

선현우 선생님 안녕하세요! =) ...한국어 학습을 향상시키는 방법에 대한 유용한 팁을 제공해 주셔서 정말 되게 아주~~~~ 감사합니다!! =)🙏🏻
I’ve been avoiding ai like ChatGPT like the plague but darn it now I want it
It’s a fantastic dictionary. I haven’t used it as a chat partner though. Just seems weird. I don’t have any interest in hearing the opinion of an AI 😂.
@@paulwalther5237 I agree, you're right on the money Paul!
The subscription fee of that app is too expensive~~
정말 감사합니다! 올해 더 공부할 거예요! 🎉
Wow this is great. Thank you so much, I really appreciate this and your great app :) Please continue your good work and know that I for one, appreciate all your hard work. Thanks again.
Thank you very much!!
새해 복 많이 받으세요.감사합니다.❤
I’m so disappointed that it cost money now 😭 honestly was so excited to finally learn Korean again after a while.. 💔💔
Great wishes &
THANK U SO MUCH😊...
It's weird how often you advertise the reading app without ever mentioning the price. Even on the app page, the price isn't listed. Even in the app when you initially open it.
Well, it's not weird. We all know why. It's expected from companies in 2024. Which is sad. And TTMIK certainly used to seem different.
funny that this is hearted lol.

Right now I'm at Sogang so I'm mostly using their material to study but I also watch a more simple drama right now first with no subtitles, then with subtitles trying to learn the new vocab, and then a third time I will watch to see how I've improved 🤗 듣기 practice
this was so helpful! i was looking for a way to practice output at home since i don't have any korean friends or teachers, and using chatgtp is such a great idea! i wouldn't have thought of that by myself, thank you so much!🙌
Great tips! I tried both and they were very very useful. 계속 좋은 조언을 해주셔서 감사합니다❤
I am currently watching T1's contents on youtube because it's particularly entertaining for me and and there are always eng/kor subtitles available (this and ttmik are kinda my daily korean content for now)
T1 fighting! :D
@@KateWitt ♥️ T1 fighting! > .~
I can’t wait to try TTMIK stories!! I was looking for something like this!
Thank you for your hard work❤
새해 복 많이 받으세요 선생님~🎉
I'm trying be fluent in Korean since 2019 but what I still know is very basic. I subscribed to you channel since 2021 but it's really hard to watch tutorial everyday without motivation.
So it's like humble request- why don't you make another channel teaching Korean with Tv series. It would be fun and everyday I would look forward for it..!
Thank you so much for the video
Happy new year talk to me in Korean team 😊🎉
The ChatGPT voice in the video sounds like a native Korean but my ChatGPT speaks Korean with an American accent… is there something I can do about that?
Very impressive and great suggestions. I can't wait to try the graded reading app. All your books for reading practise have been so helpful, it's great there is now a reliable app to practise with! Thank you for the hard work.
Thanks~
Omg chat gpt is genius! I’ll definitely try using that to practice.
Please enable full translations of the content! That is such a crucial part…
Wish you all at TTMIK a very happy New Year. Tc
Thanks for those tips! I'm a newbie and I've made it my New Year Resolution to learn the Korean language. I'll be sure to follow up with my lessons. ☺️
Amazing!!
Thank you so much. I love TTMIK
Thank you teacher! The classes are super great 👍👍...the phrases I 've learnt here make my Seoul Daily life easier than before ❤❤👍👍 well some
오늘도 좋은 정보들 감사합니다! Thanks for the great tips once again :)
This was very helpful video for leaning Korean. Can you recommend apps or sites for language exchange and tutoring for Korean?

Best of luck with the app!
very good info , thanks
Thanks a lot
Great ideas! 감사합니다
Also, I have a subscription to the program. Are the stories included in the subscription or would I have to purchase that separately?
@@grahamgrover1Thank you for watching this video! TTMIK Stories users can get a 55% off discount on our website subscription 😄To see more details, check out this link: ttmikstories.app/
I have studied Korean when I was in China. It's very easy to learn Korean language for we Japanese. I graduated from Yanbian University.조선말을 배우시려면 연변대학교를 권합니다. 유튜브에 우리학교 소개 동영상이 있어요.

Currently, we don't have plans for it, but we will certainly take your opinion into account when developing our future offerings

can you make and guid how to lean hangul

안녕하세요, can you suggest platforms, for watching films, with Korean subtitles(for free)
Wow.. Excellent
Ca you give a website that can i watch k-drama with KOREAN SUBTITLES?
It's help full but i can't find lessons video on talk to me in korean
Hi thanks for your videos but learning korean is still how to learn maybe for some people is easy but people like me need more time to learn
Your advice is, however, not for beginners, but for people who already know Korean.
We have another video for those who want to start learning Korean! th-cam.com/video/0KnUyy6pH-U/w-d-xo.html I hope you find it useful!
The big problem i think with the new app is that thr price is simply nit realistic compared to the average person's pay wage. And even if they have the money, why would they use it on the app instead of something else. At that point, just pay for private lessons. In this economy, nobody is spending this much money on an app (some people may but you get my point)

Get ready for your excitement bubble to burst when you learn the new app is a whopping $15/month (or $167/year) and not included in your TTMIK subscription... yikes! :/
Ouch indeed!
Happy new year 🎊 hai
Your reading app is awesome! I absolutely love it
Thank you so much!!
I'm taking a class but I want to learn outside of my class
Crazy how far AI has already come. I didnt know it was possible to practice like that.
Does the stories app start with preschool level stories? Very simple sentences? I have a couple children’s books and they are still a little too hard
Hi, can someone tell me what does 'G롤 하지마' mean? I read this sentence on Manhwa and I really didn't get it all.
I want to learn korean with you, how can I contact with you pleace tell me
I like to learn here
