I've been using the Note Air 2+ for about a year. It's very good for reading. Note taking is good, but a bit buggy in portrait split-screen mode when I have a book open in one window and the note taking app in the other window. Boox note taking app doesn't scroll as it should and has a lot of lag in split screen mode. Otherwise, it works fine. To be honest, I find the Kindle Scribe note taking experience to be better for simple note taking than the Note Air 2+. Sadly, I cannot copy/paste from a book to notes on the Kindle. I've had enough trouble with ghosting that I thought I'd give it one more try and ordered the Note Air 3 C. It is due to arrive tomorrow. If the performance is significantly better than my Note Air 2+, I'll consider it a win, even with the reduced battery life. Hopefully I didn't just piss away $500 bucks.
Okay, as I shared yesterday, I had ordered the Note Air 3 C as an upgrade to my Note Air 2+. This after months of deliberating over making the purchase. The Note Air 3 C arrived as expected today. I just finished the setup and spent some time playing with the system, installing the Kindle Reader app and exploring the note taking app . Long story short, it's a BIG performance over the Note Air 2+. I was expecting at least some bump in performance, but am delighted to say that the improvement is much better than I expected. Everything is faster and seems to work better. The writing experience in the Note app is also better. I wasn't really expecting that, but it is a tangible difference. All in all, a very pleasant upgrade and I suspect will prove well worth the upgrade. For everyone else, and given my history, making this purchase nearly guarantees that Boox will now announce the release of a Note Air 3 C Plus or Note Air 4 C... because that is how my luck invariably runs. It's like washing my truck. Doing so almost invariably guarantees it will rain. Cheers and thanks to Kit for the in-depth, comparative review.
I tried the NA3C but sent it back because the screen felt too dark and the battery anxiety was real. I bought the NA3 and love it BUT, seeing you demo the 3C makes me want one again. lol, I’m so easily swayed.
Hi, I bought a Boox Note Air 3, because of you. I’m an Apple fan, I have everything, but I’m delighted with this device for reading and note taking. Battery is a great thing. Color and video - iPad absolutely. Don’t use it for it. So I’m very happy. Thanks.
Just started watching this, but I purchased the Boox Note Air 3C about 2 weeks ago. Still getting used to it. I'm used to the Samsung environment on tablets. Enjoying it so far. I purchased through your link, I hope you get credit.
Decided on the Boox Note air 3 for the longer battery life and I will be reading books on it and using it to receive PDFS that I can write on and send to my PC after its been written up. I do not need color, and I won't be using web searches but it is nice that it's there, I will get it delivered it 2 to 7 days. Thank you for your very in depth review!
I received my Note Air 3C last week and have slowly gotten to grips with its depth of features. As you said, there is a steep learning curve and, for me, some ragged edges to the way this device works. For instance, there was immediate confusion around using a highlighter with PDFs and notes. Should we call it a highlighter rather than a marker and let us adjust the transparency slightly? Battery life was the big debate for me in buying. Long life would mean I could almost remove the worry of charging, the flexibility of colour, and better refresh technology. I will always worry about battery life, but I don't need to, as life has been pretty good so far. I found the auto power off after 15 minutes of default annoying as the power-up time is too long. However, standby seems to consume very little energy. I am not interested in emailing on this device; notifications are set to DND. Other than that, this has been superb. I love that it is different from the iPad, yet effective and powerful. The writing feeling is great. Thanks for your videos. You, My Deep Guide and Brandon Boswell's work have been invaluable.
My 3C was delivered yesterday - your videos were super useful for helping me choose a device, and I think this little slate and I will have a lot of good times together!
I saw a Remarkable 2 in action on 2022, but when i've seen this Note Air 3C, what a device it is!!!! My first choice to an e-ink reader and writer will be this one thanks to your reviews. Great content!!!!
Your reviewes are awesome, I came to youtube to search for remarkable videos (my mum is gifting me an e-ink device for my 30's) and I came out of youtube with the clear idea that I want the Boox note air 3 c after hours of watching all your reviews about it. Keep it up with the good work, your content is very detailed and valuable!!
I recently got a Note Air 3 and have been very happy with it. I still use a Nova Air for reading epubs but the air is much better for pdfs and note taking which was often very cramped on my nova air. Still not entirely convinced the color is worth having to always have the backlight on for me, but thanks for this video.
You are an absolute gem. These reviews are spot on. I have owned the remarkable 2, the NA3C and TabX; all of which I use(d) religiously and heavily everyday in tandem with my career. You are the most balanced reviewer of these devices out there. The NA3C is indeed an amazing product. I am patiently waiting for a TabX in color with higher Dpi. BOOX is on to something great and the learning curve for the software is more than worth it. RM2 is a masterclass in advertising but little more than that.
We need a black & white version with BSR at 12" size. That is the perfect balance, allowing you to take notes and read documents without ghosting. Also, we need Android 12 - 14, and a faster processor, like the Tab Ultra C Pro. (The Tab X does some of that, but it has Android 11, older processor, is too big, and does not have paperlike feeling when writing.)
Thanks so much for adding all this value and helping us make the right choice. Ref Note Air 3C, can you say whether writing handwritten emails on Gmail is possible, as with the Supernote? And... how does the screen compare to the writing experience with the 10.3 Go?
If the longevity of the _'Note Air 3C'_ wasn't greatly hampered by a rapid battery cycle-count from an energy hungry machine, it would be in the top few of my book. Maybe if they gave it a replaceable battery? Hmm... now there's an idea.
I just recently found your channel (less than 5 days ago) as a result of a “light bulb” moment while taking notes for work. And I must say, I really appreciate your approach to content delivery; it’s proving to be a valuable resource in determining which e-ink tablet may be best suited for my needs. I love writing and my penmanship could be considered as very good; I’m frequently complimented. I say this to explain that my primary concern is for the pen to paper feel. I typically use fine point pens and this has pushed me towards the Supernote Nomad. I’m not concerned for color or reading, only note taking and referencing over a long period of time in a very efficient manner. From what I can tell, it appears that the Supernote may be best suited for my needs and workflow, however, this review of the Note Air 3 has me wondering. The size is a bit more attractive than the Supernote yet, the Supernote would have the advantage when using in conjunction with my laptop. I’m willing to sacrifice some space and go with the Note Air 3 BW if the pen to paper feel is close enough to the Supernote. If time permits, I would really appreciate and value your input as a new subscriber. Thank you
Kind thanks for the kind words! Sounds like you are best waiting a month or so for the Supernote A5X2. It'll be similar to the A6X2, certainly in writing feel and software, but just that bit more room to enjoy your writing.
Had to “pull the trigger” on the Note Air 3. Supernote said it would be 2mos before they could deliver a Nomad - I can’t wait that long and figured it would be best to jump in! Just took delivery and am about to startup. We shall see.
@@WMARUoriginal The biggest difference for software is the note taking features (it's so easy to create a table using the AI tools), it's easy to move notebooks around and sort everything, it's very easy to upload PDFs. I'm a Software Engineer so having colour is great for diagrams and reading tech books that have colour diagrams. The biggest difference overall is the hardware, on the Scribe I was having freezing issues after about 30 pages of notes and at times I couldn't use the pen unless I opened a menu or had to hard reset. I believe this was down to the 1gb of memory which leads me to believe the features I wanted won't happen due to that limitation.
I've got the Note Air 3C since november and I absolutely love it. One thing I can't figure out is how much storage space is being used: I've over 30 gigs used, but only 7gb used by apps. I've navigated all the storage folder, installed a file explorer to check system folders but nothing. I've no idea why all that storage space is gone. What's you experience with this. Cheers!
Thanks for pointing out the Air 3C stand. It was puzzling that the Tab X doesn't have a case like this. Hopefully, the new version, whether it comes this year or the next, has such a stand. It's really functional 👍
Thanks for the review! I have one question concerning the SD Card Slot. I have seen people complaining that their slot couldn’t be totally shut once the card is inserted. Is this happening to the device you have? So the slot might protrude out of the edge of the device a little bit? Thanks in advance!
Great Video, I would love to see the Air 3 vs reMarkable 2, since they are both B&W only, and I think they both do the full screen refresh only, and how is the "pen on paper feel" experience on the two of them?? I really like the idea of color, BUT I have to wonder if the stuff requiring color couldn't be done better (at least as well) on my Samsung Android tablet! Great Video, Thanks for all your work, sorry to be immediately asking for more.
Hello Kit. I purchased the Note Air 3C based on your recommendation. I have inserted an SD card to copy some files but there appears to be no way to access the storage on the SD card. There is nothing in support and contacting the retailer is useless. Do you have any information on this you can share?
Being a Nova Air 2 and Kindle Scribe owner my perfect device would be the Scribe hardware with the Boox OS 😉😂. The Kindle screen and battery life is amazing but it's just a *little* to functionally simple for me (I write on pdfs a lot and can't get them back out - painful) Maybe the Note Air4......

Excellent coverage Kit. I was wondering if you feel the screen film that comes with the 3C causes color degradation when compared to the Tab Ultra C Pro? I really like the feel of the film on my 3C (and, in my opinion the better touch sensitivity) though I've found myself using the Ultra C Pro more often when I'm not specifically taking handwritten notes.
Hiya, I don't think colour shift. But a slight loss of sharpness. I'm the same as you, really enjoy the Note for... Notes. But TUC Pro for everything else. Maybe a long thing like this for TUC pro?

I'm currently taking my lab notes on a tab ultra, mostly in a backfolded keyboard case, but the magnetic distortion on several spots on the screen annoys me to no end.
About usb c OTG testing, I suppose they have only usb 2.0 implemented so you cannot use video signal directly through the type-c port like many of the mid-tier android phones.
