i'm 25, and seeing him walk with Katleen helping him because he's now 90 and everyone cheering for him made me cry instantly. I'm so gratefull to have the opportunity to see him again perform even at this stage of his life. that is just crazy. I love Star Wars so much.

I love how this entire piece opens up on a somber 4 notes that are taken directly from the beginning of Qui-Gon's theme. Obi-wan got his start from his master, but instead of turning out to be strong and defiant like his master and his theme, his is one of a beaten down man trying desperately to survive and keep hope.
Subtle yet direct. But I can already feel Obi Wan in this theme. A Jedi who doesn't give up easy in the dark times he's about to face A big thank you to John Williams for delivering this to us
Maybe we will get something for Andor and the other stuff in the works. Music is usually done way before the show is finished bring made. Or in the works at least.

As a musician, you play his music differently. You hold yourself a little straighter, you hit the attack a little cleaner. In everything you do, you strive to make yourself worthy of the music you have the privilege to play. Even when we played The Throne Room from New Hope in high school, you feel proud to be playing the music.
He still has his Jedi ability with a crowd. Everyone is chatting, he simply waves his hand and the whole crowd goes dead silent. 😉😂. The man is a genius. Always and forever.

I love that Obi-Wan's theme is basically the starting pitch of the chorus for the Star Wars main theme to symbolize the coming dawn that will eventually lead to A New Hope and beyond. Notice that Kenobi delivered Luke to Owen and Beru when the twin suns set. In A New Hope, they were rising when Luke is grown up.
I like this. It's more slowed compared to the version we got hear in the show and in many other youtube covers. It's like each note is being squeezed to give their all, fitting for a broken man like obi-wan.
Crazy to think how many iconic scores he's composed. There will never be another like him and the late great Ennio Morricone (even though my favourite score came from neither of the two, but from Howard Shore).

I am taking conducting lessons. Mr. Williams is a master of a conductor! His ictus is strong, and he KNOWS every detail of his cues/themes. The amount of detail Mr. Williams has is incredible. All in all, Mr. Williams is doing far more than waving his arms, he is having a conversation with the performers of the orchestra, and propelling the emotions to the audience. I had the honor and privilege of seeing him perform at the Hollywood Bowl. It was truly a night of "Heaven on Earth."
