Great advice. I'm looking at buying a Charger R/T or Challenger R/T. What I've done recently; I rented a 2022 Dodge Charger R/T Hemi with the Blacktop package. Great idea for anyone to do a rental. This really gives you a good feel for the car and greatly gives you a good idea on how the experience is over a period of time. Definetely helps with the decision making process when it comes time to buy. I rented the Charger R/T from AVIS. I picked up the rental at Ft. Lauderdale International Airport. The reason for this is that you have the opportunity to choose from vast number of cars in the fleet. AVIS had a few Charger R/T's in the fleet. No Scat Pack Chargers. However I've driven those before. To say I enjoyed the 2022 Charger R/T is an understatement. I kept the Charger for 5 days. I was surprisingly pleased. The Charger was comfortable, had good handling and the 5.7 Hemi had plenty of power for me. Love the exhaust sound. I've the driven the 392 Hemi cars, but the price jump is incredible to go from a regular R/T to a Scatpack. For me , I don't need that extra muscle. I was very surprised at the gas mileage I got on my Charger R/T rental. At 80 mph I was getting 28 miles per gallon. The engine was only doing 1700 or 1800 rpm at that speed. This is because the computer kicks into a cylinder deactivation mode. Gas mileage around town was very good. In comparison; I got 30 miles per gallon on a 2022 Chrysler 300 with v-6 engine that I rented about 3 weeks ago. For a v-8 car that gets gas mileage very close to a v-6 powered car is incredible. Overall, very pleased with the Dodge Charger R/T.
I guess you're the expert , right? Was only giving an observation comparing gas mileage of the Hemi vs the v-6. Oh. and don't worry, I did get on it a few times.@@TheBossGi
You speaking facts bro to these guys trying to jump into a hellcat. Also, they have to be able to afford the car note, insurance, maintenance and gas. I pay $300 a month on insurance on mine.
I just turned 21 I have a 2019 R/T and I been living on my own house since I was 18 also I’m swapping a 392 into my Rt , ion care what nobody saying because they can have them hellcats but they still living with they Moma 😹 so I’m good
I purchased the 2023 RT last call blacktop and it actually has the SRT performance package stock. It has all the launch control it has the built-in stall all of that, it also has the SRT suspension... I paid a little over 60k for the car. It is completely 100% loaded down suede interior, the blacked out 345 badges and even the front spoiler guards that are yellow that comes just like on the hellcats when you purchase them, they're supposed to be removed people leave them on, including myself they make the vehicle look better more aggressive. All of that being said the car is actually very powerful and it sounds absolutely amazing, I'm not 100% sure if the SRT performance package changes the shifting that could be wise it feels a bit peppier than other RT models. What I wanted to say is I am actually a repossession agent in Louisville Kentucky and I repossessed tons of hellcats because people buy them and they don't realize just how expensive these vehicles are I can tell you this I am 45 years old me and my wife both we haven't had speeding tickets in probably 20 years we have one accident that at one of our kids had on our policy and it is $1,100 a month full coverage on an RT. And luckily we had the money to pay for the car outright, however if we did not we would have been looking at about 11% interest and that's with great credit. The interest rates right now are insane. My thought process was the Hellcat charger MSRP of 79000 you're not going to touch one of those cars new for less than $95 to $100,000 so that's $30,000 markup. I can take my RT model do a stage 3 scat kit from Dodge and then add a procharger kit and absolutely annihilate hellcats. Don't get me wrong these are expensive upgrades and I probably will not be doing the ProCharger it would cost me less than 20 grand and like I said it would annihilate the Hellcat at that point so for less than $80,000 I can make my RT s*** all over a Hellcat I just can't see it worth spending the extra money I mean $30,000 just because it has 86.2 L supercharged and then another $30,000 just for markup because they can.....once again our full coverage insurance is $1,100 a month for a 45-year-old man and woman who haven't had speeding tickets in over a decade..... thanks but no thanks I'm perfectly happy with my RT she's a sexy machine.
Im 42 and got a f8 green GT 2023 with plus and tech pack. 300 horses is enough for mw, the car aint slow. And dont want to be at the gas station frequently with the v8
Got a 2023 scat pack two weeks ago talked them dwn to 56k msrp was 64k an they had a 8k markup u have to learn how to talk to ppl especially when they realize your a serious buyer paying 877 a month an the dealership had a package with free oil changes tire an rim replacement and everything is insured as in the computer system for a extra 100 dollars so my car note went from 777to 877 no down payment traded in my first charger 2013 sxt plus with 138k miles an they gave me 6k for it
My Challenger RT drive shaft went out after 5 years, I never abused the car. Plastic boot around the center bearing cracked, it never should've been a two-piece drive shaft. I think someone makes a one-piece conversion. Road salt may speed up the failure. Good luck but it seems this every 5 year $1400 repair will be ongoing for long term owners.
Great sound advice. Your content is always helpful and informative. I’ve had 2 R/T Challengers in the past. They have been more than enough power for me, but what I really loved was the exhaust note. Now I live where it snows half the year, so an AWD GT makes more sense. I lose the great exhaust note, but at least I can drive and enjoy the car year round 🤷🏻♂️.
Just traded my wifes 4Runner in for a '23 Charger RT. The 4Runner was more expensive. We love it. Runs on 89 not 93. Achieves 19mpg around our small TX town and easily 25+ on the hwy. Seats all 4 of us and is fun too. The RT is all about practicality. For all those reasons is why we got it over the scat. It reminds me of my younger days. A big, HEAVY, rear wheel drive car with a v8. Not common any more at all

@@richvangorder3900 that's a very good way of putting it. I ask because I definitely want a charger and will buy it but living in the mountains in the north east I also need more ground clearance and I was looking at the 4runner as a second vehicle. Thanks for your input.
@@NERDLYFE-es9ef i lived in CNY(adirondacks) 28 yrs. Now in TX. I understand. Just keep in, mind and i wont go in to a long winded post, japanese old school(which certainly is the 4Runner) is an acquired taste. I grew to dislike the seating position in relation to where my limbs fell on the door jam(its seated very LOW) and the seats dont provide much thigh support. I attribute this to the average japanese vs average american. We are much bigger ppl and the 4Runner is made in Japan. The tech is soooo far behind to the American counterparts its astounding. Its over priced for what it is. Amd my 4th major dislike was the fuel use. I dont mind bad fuel economy AS LONG as performance matches. The 4Runner is NOT a performance machine. It has no roll on power. It needs to down shift for everything. Its like driving an appliance. Sterile and boring. Fuel economy hovers 14-16. Regardless of hwy or city. You dont really notice it till you drive a late model American truck. For example my 23 Ram loaded Laramie weighs 2000 lbs MORE than the 4Runner and makes about 400hp and 400 lb ft. SIGNIFICANTLY MORE WEIGHT AND POWER and i avg lifetime so far 21mpg. Has absurd roll on power and is just so much better in nearly every way. Thats the difference. But the 4Runner will be great in the snow. Do yourself a favor and test drive a couple times and see how you feel about it. I think for us at least it took about a year and a half and we wanted out of it.
@@richvangorder3900 wow, thank you for that reply. That's some of the best feedback I have received on the 4runner. I'm also excited to hear about your ram because the 2022 1500 rebel V8 is also a major consideration for me!

No diss to the Dodge guys. Hell I own one myself, but I also own a 06 Mustang GT. The biggest difference I notice between the two communities is that Dodge guys don’t put much $$$ under the hood. Nothing is wrong with that at all, but I think it does cause a hierarchy within the Dodge community. Demon owners vs Hellcat owners vs Scat vs RT, etc. You could have a 500+ horsepower RT and you will still have Dodge owners saying “yeah but it’s still an RT 😂”. Mustangs are known for being modded out the ass especially S197’s supercharged, coyote swaps, etc. I think this is why the community is much more “united” I don’t care what body style, or “look” you decided to go for. If you own a 67 Mustang Fastback that’s making 600+ horsepower the community is gonna give you the respect you deserve.

I got like 11.2 mpg on my rt😂 you probably didn’t drive it how you should’ve, considering it wasn’t your car 🤣
I guess you're the expert , right? Was only giving an observation comparing gas mileage of the Hemi vs the v-6. Oh. and don't worry, I did get on it a few times.@@TheBossGi

Appreciate this video big dawg needed this 💯
I'll take a RT any day. I don't need 600 or 800 horses on a daily basis. I don't need to go 0-140 in 8 or 9 seconds all the time
Much love and support from Boston ❤ 🙏🏻
This guy is the truth listen up young viewers !!
Well said my dude! 🤝🏾👊🏾💀
Man I appreciate your honesty.
Having a hellcat is in a different league and I have had all of them. From v6 to a modded hellcat. But nothing wrong with an RT either
2019 is when they changed all r/t’s to the scat body style.
You speaking facts bro to these guys trying to jump into a hellcat. Also, they have to be able to afford the car note, insurance, maintenance and gas. I pay $300 a month on insurance on mine.
I like the R/T its still a V8 that can be modified
Scatpack or hellcats if you got the money go big 😎
Imagine going from a V6 2016 to a 2023 scat park ! What an upgrade for me 😁
I just turned 21 I have a 2019 R/T and I been living on my own house since I was 18 also I’m swapping a 392 into my Rt , ion care what nobody saying because they can have them hellcats but they still living with they Moma 😹 so I’m good
Boy keep that rt leave that 392 alone
The fact you had to tell a whole story and give information on why you aren’t “one of those guys” still stays something about you 😅
This is why is hard to give up my RT Hem lol. I may just try for the Hemi challenger . Still want my B5!! That color is crazzi!!
What miles were you at when your driveshaft went out. Just got my first v8 charger rt 2021 with 38k miles
Thanks for sharing another great video.. 💪🏾💯
Got a 2023 scat pack two weeks ago talked them dwn to 56k msrp was 64k an they had a 8k markup u have to learn how to talk to ppl especially when they realize your a serious buyer paying 877 a month an the dealership had a package with free oil changes tire an rim replacement and everything is insured as in the computer system for a extra 100 dollars so my car note went from 777to 877 no down payment traded in my first charger 2013 sxt plus with 138k miles an they gave me 6k for it
👏👏👏thats how you do it bro congrats 💪🏾💯
Very very nice!!
Should I go used scat pack or brand new rt ?
My Challenger RT drive shaft went out after 5 years, I never abused the car. Plastic boot around the center bearing cracked, it never should've been a two-piece drive shaft. I think someone makes a one-piece conversion. Road salt may speed up the failure. Good luck but it seems this every 5 year $1400 repair will be ongoing for long term owners.
@10:00 I’ve always been a risk take so if I want sum ima get it then figure out how to afford to keep it afterwards
Great sound advice. Your content is always helpful and informative. I’ve had 2 R/T Challengers in the past. They have been more than enough power for me, but what I really loved was the exhaust note. Now I live where it snows half the year, so an AWD GT makes more sense. I lose the great exhaust note, but at least I can drive and enjoy the car year round 🤷🏻♂️.
nah get an AWD 5.7 police package
Unc is rlly spittin fr🤞🏾
Just traded my wifes 4Runner in for a '23 Charger RT. The 4Runner was more expensive. We love it. Runs on 89 not 93. Achieves 19mpg around our small TX town and easily 25+ on the hwy. Seats all 4 of us and is fun too. The RT is all about practicality. For all those reasons is why we got it over the scat. It reminds me of my younger days. A big, HEAVY, rear wheel drive car with a v8. Not common any more at all
What year was That 4runner
@@NERDLYFE-es9ef '22. Grew in to disliking many things about it. Pay that much for a vehicle and you better LIKE it, right? Unfortunately some times it takes time to find the things you dont like
@@richvangorder3900 that's a very good way of putting it.
I've had four Chargers the 06 charger who came out then a 2014 RT Max I like them both but nothing compared to when they brought the Scat Pack out in 2015. Instant Power like that only my race cars. Another 2020 3 years now can't beat the bang-for-the-buck. Nothing wrong with RT Hemi what is really just a cruising vehicle unless you beef up that 5.7
There's no point to buy specific cars that being discontinued...
Parts will be no more produced at certain point...
why the hell buy hellcat or demon 170 with crazy markup????
the dream is a hellcat for me but i just bought a RT and im loving it its got some miles onm it but it was garage kept and the guywas older even the tires still have tread on em
Man until I stop driving semi trucks I can’t be near a damn sports car or muscle car; can’t afford no tickets and mess up my money. I was getting tickets in my v6 maro back in the day hell 🤣🤣 but in about 3 years when I’m done driving best believe ima be in a scat Zl1 or a Shelby . Until then good old Honda and my lifted Sierra lol
Where are you located at? I’ve noticed you are at Maryland. I would like to go with y’all when I get my mods to my charger

I’m looking at a 2013 R/T. 5.7. It has 175k on it. Any advice before I go get it? I have a Jeep right now. But I want a AWD Charger. BADLY it’s very clean looking. I don’t think anyone raced it but not sure. Thanks.
Don’t do it wait and save your money and look for one with fewer miles.

I'm getting a R/T when they start doing holiday deals I'm in Cali tho they overcharge out here might have to go to Nevada or Arizona for it
You got it yet?
I love my hellcat. They are all good cars for sure. I have a hellcat video up if anyone wants to swing by
I agree i made a similar video on why a rt durango is better than a 392 or hellcat for daily use etc. everyone check it out if you'd like keep being great
Whether you get an R/T, Scat, or Hellcat Charger, they're all good. There's no long videos or explanations required. Here it is. If you can afford whatever and want more horse power, just get it. Obviously, the Hellcat would be the ideal car to get, but not everyone can afford it. Just stick to what you can afford and go for it.
People should stick to what they can't afford
I have a scat Charger and a r/t Durango and I forget how quick my Durango is compared to a lot of cars on the road, I just need to get my scat seat in there cause on high speed turns, it feels like I’m sliding all over the place….🤦🏽♂️
Couldn't agree more.
I just bought an RT I’m super excited. I’m just waiting for the dealership to get my plate so I can whip that bad lary if you get the black top package like I did, you’ll save a ton of money and still look very very nice. I got a 2016 with 60 K on the dash plum purple.
Congrats 💪🏾💯
Let’s be real scat holds more weight lol
Always get the warranty
Very well said
I had a 2010 sxt so a 2022 rt would be a major upgrade for me. Also its the only rt with the harman kardon and that's what i really want. And its in Octane Red too so i can pretend its a red dragon 😂

Not even possible to use 600 plus rear wheel hp on the street. Im sure you think you are tho
@travisdurham29 lol, wth are you talking about? So, if I floor it and I got up to 160mph I didn't use the horsepower my vehicle has? I didn't use the whole 615whp?
