Saw them and the acedemy tour in sheffield, saw them at wembly stadium supporting muse, going to see them supporting the foos in July and at sonisphere in July....can't get enough of them!!!
my first ever gig was a biffy clyro gig. i wasn't really into music back then but i went down to the barrowlands and saw them in a tiny room with hundreds of sweaty minging people. when they started playing their music i just flipped my shit, i was entranced by biffy, they have been my favourite band for about 7-8 years and i still listen to their music everyday. i think what captured me about biffy was their raw-ness, the first peice of real music i heard was a trio of my fellow Scotsmen just getting pissed and playing phenomenal music. i love the raw-ness about them. i think you have to be a true biffy fan to appreciate all the covers and difference versions of their songs. but hey thats just my response to some of the hate biffy gets. :)
there's only 2 singers i've ever seen who can go from singing into full throttle sreaming without stopping. Simon Neil and Mathew Bellamy. Although simon does it alot more. if you try to sing a fairly high note then break into a full raw scream, you can't do it without stopping, dunno how he does it, and he can scream in tune... the man is blessed.
he plays mostly fender american strats that have been pre-relic'd in the custom shop. he also plays 1 of his Squier simon neil series in 1 song, and he plays 1 mexican strat.
@luizmaf Its just that he cant really scream and they arent that style of band anyway. Ive seen them live now as they performed at download festival and they did this one like they normally do and it sounded much better for it.
Exactly what makes this a bad performance in your opinion? Is it the singing style by simon? Because the instruments are pretty spot on and his screams are what really differ from the original version. I personally love his screams. If you think the instruments sound badly, then you have to blame either the mixing or the lack of an orchestra, and you can't blame either on biffy...
Im pretty nuetral with biffy having only just started listening to them but i have to agree this live version sounds pretty terrible. Annoying cause the song normally sounds pretty epic so for everyone having a go at that guy for saying it sounds bad its ok to be a fan of a band and admit it when they perform badly or write a bad song. Anyway thats just my thoughts on things, do with them what you will:-)

Sounds like those bands I was up against in high school that were just a bunch of guys hitting instruments and screaming.. horrible
