GERMANY: Severe setback for the industry! Massive decline in orders hits the sector
German industry suffered a significant setback in November 2024. According to the Federal Statistical Office, incoming orders fell by 5.4% compared to the previous month, with major orders distorting the picture. Without these, there would have been slight growth of 0.2%. Orders had already fallen by 1.5% in October, underlining the tense situation in the sector. Meanwhile, the DAX is continuing its positive start to the year, driven by gains in the defense sector and strong expectations for technology companies. However, security experts warn of the growing global uncertainties that continue to shape the markets.
