The life of many a rural community revolves around the worship and social activities of the chapel. Children are baptized then spiritually educated in Sunday school. Young folks often first noticed each other and later were married here. In times of Xmas, and trying times alike, people gather here to ask God's blessing and guidance. Many of these old country chapels have seen their children grow and mature, live long, and finally pass on. The cathedrals of the world are often testaments to the men that built them; but the humble chapel is truly a place where the spirit of the Lord may be found. The stars above ..the light illuminates on winters snow..a time..a place captured to reflect ..Xmas 2016. Beautifully rendered..

This is so pretty. I've come to love painting nighttime scenes. But I paint in acrylic, and I think I can reproduce this in acrylics. Going to try today! By the way, love your work and your channel. Thanks for sharing your great talent with us!
I always loved to paint as a child, but was very poor, so I never had the chance to draw with these kinds of materials, canvases and nice oil painting, or acrylics. Only sheep led pencils and stuff like that. And eventually I kind of stopped. This is just incredible to watch because, when I learned to draw I had to draw and leave out - EVERY single highlight in the picture and draw around it. It's obviously extremely hard and time consuming. Watching this really sparks up my passion and imagination again for painting, what you can do with oils and acrylics, painting on top of other things, highlights - shadows. And now that I'm an adult with a bit better economy, I'd love to give this a go. Always loved painting landscapes, specially winter landscapes, pines, snow, the auroras, and so forth, many of your art pieces are incredible. This is exactly the kind of stuff I would be painting if I had the chance, and now I do :) Just wanted to say you're really inspiring, and ur art is amazing.

I would like to see how I would paint a night scene with the full moon BEHIND the viewer, rather than the typical full moon in the sky in front of the viewer. It seems no one does this and I think the perspective would be much more interesting.
I really enjoyed this video and am using it as inspiration for a Christmas gift. My only issue is the skipping. So much excellent blending and layering but we don’t get to see it! Love the video and love the piece.

The application of light in a painting has always fascinated me so my first thought was how to attempt this one with stained glass windows in the church. Is it possible to get multiple colors to glow with a dark background? Thanks again for sharing your painting!
+Cochise Keyes Thanks so much for the kind words! Yes, I think this would be really nice with some stained glass windows. Use the same colors as the glass in the snow.To make the light glow, have a more pure color on the edges of the light area and almost white in the middle of the light area.
